You wake up and it's still dark you roll to your side, grabbing your phone to check the time; it's just a little after 3 am. Then you notice the feeling of somebodies eyes on you. When you sit up you notice somebody standing at the foot of your bed and nearly screamed when you saw a reflection bouncing off the person's arm and you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.

"What the fuck Bucky, it is 3 am," you say exhaustedly. It was often that he would randomly show up to your room but it wasn't often that it would happen at 3 am.

"I want your help to prank Steve," Bucky said and you shook your head at him and sighed.

"What's the plan?" You ask as you stand up going to get a glass of water.

Later you are sitting in a room with the other Avengers and you are all waiting for Tony to arrive to start. He was going to be the first victim of your prank that would eventually end in Steve. You saw the door knob turn and looked over to Bucky with a wink then tried your best not to smirk when 'Iron Man' by Black Sabbath starts blaring as soon as Tony walked in. The reactions varied, some were startled by the sudden loudness of the music, others- namely Natasha- looked completely and utterly done with Tony's shit, and Tony himself looked a little befuddled. The music stopped moments later and Tony immediately puts his hands up as if someone was pointing a gun at him.

"I swear that wasn't me this time," he said and most of the Avengers rolled their eyes as you and Bucky glance at each other and then get on with the meeting.

It takes a few days for Bucky and yourself to pick the next victim and their song but when you did you were still left with the task of gathering all the Avengers in one place. To gather them you had decided to plan a movie night and say it was a well-deserved break from all the work the team had been doing, making sure to tell your victim it was a few minutes later than you told everyone else.

"Where the hell is Clint?" Natasha asked getting slightly impatient, but right as she said that 'Free Bird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd started blasting over the speaker system causing everyone to look around to find Clint walking in and looking just as confused as the rest of the lot. After a few more calculated moments the music stops and people just shake it off and start the movie.

You and Buck struck two more times the next day, starting when Thor was late out to breakfast and 'Hammer Time' by MC Hammer started playing when he walked in and ending with Natasha walking into the gym while everyone had been training, 'Black Widow' by Iggy Azalea playing as she walked in. They figured it was a prank when MC Hammer started playing for Thor because he would not have thought of that, and when Natasha was hit other started trying to figure out theirs, others meaning Bruce and Steve with you two throwing out suggestions but never hinting at the songs you already decided on.

After laying low for a few days you hit Bruce when he walked on to the quin jet last as you were leaving for a mission, 'Monster' by Skillet playing over the speakers.

"Seriously guys?" Bruce said as the song played for a few moments and Tony was already in stitches by the look on Bruce's face and everybody turned to look at him automatically assuming it was him and you silently began planning for Steve, who was expecting the national anthem, when Natasha sat down next to you.

"So you and Bucky?" Natasha asked and your face went pale for a second thinking she had found out that you two had been pulling the pranks.

"Okay, let me explain-" you began before she cut you off much to your relief.

"You don't need to explain (Y/n), just make sure he knows that he's going to have to deal with quite a few people after him if he hurts you, like Tony and me to begin the list," Natasha said and you found yourself smiling and silently thanking whatever gods that would listen that she had purely thought you two had been dating.

"Yeah, I think he's already scared to death of what big bro Tony will do if he finds out we're merely dating, although I doubt he would hurt me," you said silently making a note to inform Bucky of your new fake relationship when you had the chance.

"Well he better not," she replied and you let out a giggle, "I should probably get ready for the mission though I'll send Bucky over to sit with you," She finished and you smiled and thanked her. When Bucky sat down he gave you a confused look and leaned in closer to let him in on your fake relationship and decide to hit Steve in three days so people think that it was Tony and he stopped and to tell people about your 'relationship' when you got back from the mission but letting Bucky tell Steve first so he didn't feel too left out.

The mission went off without a hitch; the HYDRA base was blown after gaining all the extra info they could, telling Tony you were 'dating' Bucky, on the other hand, let's just say that you had to lock Tony out of his armory and override JARVIS.

The next few days were spent acting couply with Bucky and playing with his hair, it was fun but at the end of it both you and Bucky agreed never to actually date because that would just be weird. Finally, the end of the week rolled around and you and Bucky gathered the team and finished off with the prank.

You had convinced your brother to throw a party and after letting him in on the plan to prank Steve without telling him details your plan was set into motion. Your job was to cue up the music and Bucky was to make sure Steve would be late. Your part was easy as you simply informed JARVIS he would need to over-ride the DJ and his sound system when Steve arrived. Bucky's job, on the other hand, proved more difficult than Bucky thought it would, and after hiding Steve's shoes and hair gel then acting like he had no clue what had happened to it Steve was effectively late enough for all the others to already be on there and most of the guests. Your phone buzzed from your pocket as you received a text from Bucky that he was on his way up and Steve would be up shortly after.

You were standing by the bar when Bucky arrived and immediately spot you. He had barely made it to where you were when Steve arrived. The elevators doors opened and instantly the sound of trumpets and cymbals could be heard. Everyone stopped and looked over to the elevator as 'Star Spangled Man' started playing over the speakers while Bucky and yourself were trying to keep a straight face as you heard the lyrics.

The music went out as laughter from your team could be heard from around the room, the rest of the guests went back to their party while you and Bucky were kneeled over in laughter. As you looked up you saw Steve walking towards you and you smacked Bucky's arm to get him to calm down some.

"Hey Buck, who woke the giant that napped in America?" you asked trying your best not to burst out in laughter.

"Oh, well, we know it's no one but Captain America," Bucky said back a large smirk on his face ass Steve stood in front of you both.

"Very funny (Y/n) and Bucky," Steve said but you were quite far from finished.

"Who'll finish what they began?" you said in a less serious voice than last time.

"Who'll kick the Krauts to Japan?" Bucky continued and you could visibly see Steve trying not to smile.

"The Star Spangled Man with a Plan!" Both you and Bucky sang out at the same time, dissolving into a fit of giggles afterward along with Steve who had given into your silliness.

EXTENDED ENDING

After explaining to the team who the whole theme songs fiasco was put together by Bucky and yourself, you both had landed yourself on clean up duty but, on the other hand, the team handled your relationship with Bucky being fake a whole lot better than you expect. As you finished cleaning up you went to your room and fell asleep, you were awoken again minutes later by Steve shaking your arm to wake you up.

"Help me get Bucky back?" Steve asked and you hit him with your pillow.

"What the hell is it with you super soldiers and not letting me sleep," you groan as you sat up and rubbed your head. Here we go again.
