Long time no see - Part 4 - Brock x Reader

(Y/n) sat on the edge of the bed in the medical bay, a heavy sigh leaving her lips as she waited for Brock to come and collect her. The doctors had said that she was physically fit enough to leave, though also telling her that she shouldn't do anything too strenuous given the injury to her leg. Brock assuring them that she wouldn't; though given the wink that he had sent her way, she had a feeling that as soon as he got her back to their place, there would most certainly be some strenuous activity, and part of her was looking forward to it. But another part, she, she just didn't know. Something, something didn't feel right about all of this, and it wouldn't stop eating away at her. Maybe it didn't help that there was still so much stuff that she couldn't remember; that she could only recall snippets of what had happened before the fight in which she had been injured and couldn't remember the fight at all. The doctors and Brock telling her that it was because of the wound to the head that she had received; that she shouldn't worry as her memories were sure to return in time; but still, she couldn't help but feel frustrated.

She had told Brock that she had images of being at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters, of working with Stark, Rogers and the other Avengers; Brock replying that she could maybe recollect those things, because they had both had to go deep undercover, so that they could infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D, for HYDRA. And given that she had been tasked with getting close to the Avengers as possible, that memory might have just stuck more. (Y/n) doing her best to smile and nod, as he had sat next to her and placed his arm around her shoulders; his lips kissing the top of her head. Yet even though she didn't think that he had a reason to lie to her, that little something in the back of her mind was still nagging away. The agent dropping her head into her hands, as the image of someone, a man, came into her thoughts. She couldn't remember his name, nor who he was; but if she was thinking about him, surly he must have been important for some reason. The image of his sad blue eyes, making her want to cry. (Y/n) quickly wiping away a tear, as Brock came into the room.

"Come on honey, let's get you out of here............."

                                                       >>----------------------------------<<

"That was not the deal.............." Brock growled at Pierce, as the old man sat back in his chair.

"The deal is what I say it is Rumlow. You are the one that broke the rules and fraternised with an enemy agent, after all. Thought if you don't like what we are going to do, well, maybe we might just undo all the good work that we have put into her. She was in quite a state when you brought her here; I would hate to see her die and all those talents wasted, because you don't like to share your toys." Pierce replied calmly, as he got up from his seat and circled the desk; coming to stop right in front of Rumlow.

"We need a replacement for the soldier; and with the right amount of work, with her memories being suitably controlled, your little.........weakness, will be perfect. And I am sure that the doctors can figure out a way that she can keep those memories of you and her. Consider it a reward for all your efforts. So, you can take her away, for now; but when we're ready, you will bring her back. She belongs to HYDRA, you both do; never forget that..............." The older man continued, patting Brock on the shoulder, before looking at his watch.

"Well, I think that it is time that you go and get her. Don't want to leave the lady waiting, do you..............." Pierce added, as the door to the office opened. Brock finding himself nodding, before leaving the room.

                                                          >>----------------------------------<<

He could feel the anger burn inside him. The deal had been that HYDRA would get information, they would get an agent that was close to the Avengers and had been privy to much more than he had been able to find out; and he, he would get (Y/n). The doctors would wipe the memories that they needed to, along with any memories of the relationship between her and Rogers, so they could pick up from where they had left off, before he had been found out. The two of them now working for HYDRA, rather than him pretending to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. Yet he should have known that Pierce would change things, that he would have his own agenda. But a replacement for the Winter Soldier? Brock having a feeling that (Y/n) wouldn't end up as a simple "replacement" for Barnes. HYDRA's technology and their serums had changed since even they had lost the soldier; the agent getting a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach, that these new advances, would be tried out on her. Brock finding himself feeling guilty for dragging her into this; for opening up the woman that he loved to god only knew what. But what other choice did he have. He couldn't lose her again, she was his; and he was not about to let the likes of Rogers or anyone else have her. So, all he could do was try and keep her as safe as he could; that, and show her exactly why the two of them had been made for one another, when he got her back to his rooms. The agent smiling as he opened the door and made his way into the medical room.

"Come on honey, let's get you out of here........." Brock smiled, offering (Y/n) his arm, before taking her out of the room.
