Long time no see - Part 10 - Brock x Pierce x Reader
"(Y/n)........." Brock called out, as she made her way towards him. The HYDRA operative finding himself on the floor as she, without warning, punched him in the jaw. Brock looking up at her in disbelief; the mask that covered her head and face thrown to the side, her eyes burning into him.
"You! If you hadn't let yourself get caught by Rogers, I could have ended the soldier and then gone back to finish the others. Barnes, Wilson, Romanoff, Stark, would no longer have presented an issue to HYDRA; and after they had gone, I would have dealt with the captain, and the rest would have fallen down like a house of cards." (Y/n) growled as she continued to glare down at him. The realisation finally dawning on Brock, that the woman that loomed over him, was not the woman that he loved, any longer. She was not the sweet, passionate, brave and compassionate women that he had fallen for. The woman that would laugh at his terrible jokes; and liked two marshmallows in her hot chocolate: one pink and one white. She was not the woman, that would pretend that she wasn't crying when they watched some dumb movie, as they snuggled up together on the sofa. And she wasn't the woman that would do anything to protect him. Rumlow knowing that there was only one person to blame for all of that. One person that had stood by and watched, as HYDRA had twisted and distorted the once loyal S.H.I.E.L.D agent; and that was him. His inability to say goodbye, his jealousy of Rogers, in particular; his desire to keep her to himself, had allowed them to turn his (Y/n) into what she was now.......the new soldier. The woman before him designed for nothing more than to take out the Avengers. To kill all those that she had once cared so much for. And if today was anything to go by, she just might be able to do it. Might just be able to do what the Winter Soldier had failed to do.
"Soldier........." A voice suddenly came. (Y/n) turning to see Pierce with two agents stood behind him. The older man ignoring Brock, as he slowly got up from the floor.
"Report, soldier." The Secretary continued, waiting for (Y/n) to follow him. The former S.H.E.I.L.D agent nodding, before looking back to Brock for a moment.
"We will continue this later, Brock." She growled, then made her way over to Pierce. The Secretary just shaking his head at him, before leaving Brock stood there, alone.
>>----------------------------------<<
Pierce sat back in his chair, as he listened to their newest asset report on what had happened. He had to admit that he had been in two minds about her in the beginning; not sure whether this simple agent could be what they wanted, when Rumlow had spoken about her. But, she had proved him wrong, there was no doubt about that. This soldier proving to be colder, and more dangerous than Barnes had ever been. Taking well to not only the new narrative about the Avengers and S.H.E.I.L.D that had been put into her mind; but also, the many serums that had been used on her. (Y/n) taking everything in her stride and becoming more remorseless and immoral with every treatment that she went though.
The powers that be had decided not to do with this soldier, what they had done with the Winter Soldier; to not wipe her memory of anything that she had done. Pierce smiling as he saw and heard the hatred that she had when she spoke of the likes of Stark, Rogers and Barnes; it this hatred that they wanted to develop, not erase. This hatred that would mean that she wanted nothing more than to end the lives of all those that stood between HYDRA and power. And whereas he would have punished, slapped the Winter Soldier for his failure to do what he had been ordered, it was obvious, from her report, that any anger that the Secretary had that not even one of the Avengers had been taken out; it should not be aimed at her, but at Rumlow. Pierce telling himself that once the soldier had been readied for her next serum, he would be going to see the agent.
"Well........" Pierce said, as he leaned back in his chair. The soldier just looking back at him; the only thing that the Secretary could see in her eyes........hatred and anger.
"For a first outing, you have done well. The Senator is the one we wanted and now we have him, he will be dealt with appropriately. He will be a warning to all those that think about betraying us in the future. As for the Avengers........we will deal with them another time. You have left them hurt and confused. They will be questioning everything, not only who you are and what you are capable of; but also, everything that our new technology is able to do. With each new treatment, you will become stronger, more dangerous. Your skills, abilities will grow and adapt; and just when they believe that they understand you, you will be able to prove them wrong. You, my dear, will be the downfall of the Avengers." Pierce told her. A small smile pulling at the corners, as the notion seemed to please the woman in front of him, too.
"Come!" The Secretary calling out, as a knock came to the door of his office. Two white coat clad men appearing, in the doorway. Pierce just nodding, as they moved a little further into the room.
"It is time for your next treatment, soldier." He continued, as he got up from his chair and made his way around the desk; holding out his arm for her to take. (Y/n) accepting the offer, and letting the older man pull her to her feet.
"Now, let's go and see what more improvements we can make." Pierce said, as he led her towards the scientists, and out of the room.
