Daughter of Hydra - Part 7 - Tony x Steve x Bucky x Reader
The evening, to unknowing eyes, would have been seen as a gathering of friends. The conversation between most of the Avengers and their host, flowing quite easily. The only ones choosing to not join in with most of the light-hearted chat, a certain captain, sargent and a crimson clad woman. The three watching one another, without watching one another. Not making is obvious that their thoughts were anywhere but on the evening. Steve and Bucky not needing to say anything, to know where the others mind was; the captain's going back to his fight with Red Skull in the Valkyrie. The sargent, to the thoughts of falling from the train. To the patchy memories of becoming the Winter Soldier, and all the people that he had killed as the assassin of Hydra. And what he would be prepared to do, if this so-called "Daughter of Hydra" caused them any problems.
"You don't say a lot..............." A smooth, warm voice suddenly said; (Y/n) turning to look at the man by her side. Smiling at the dark-haired billionaire.
"That may be true, Mister Stark; but I find that a wise man is quick to listen and slow to speak. A person will tell you everything you need to know about them, if you just listen and have the patience to hear them out..............."
"Is that right...............and what have you learned tonight............." Steve interjected. (Y/n) and Tony turning to look at the captain, whose tone had sounded slightly harsher than he had meant it to.
"In all honesty, Captain Rogers.........nothing. I have found myself too busy thinking of other things, to hear most of what has been said tonight. I do hope that you do not think that it is rude; I assure you, I do not mean to be. In fact, I should be grateful if I were you; Otto usually tells me that I never shut up.........." (Y/n) chuckled, as she looked across the table at the two old soldiers, smiling as sweetly as she could.
"So, what were you thinking about.............?" Bucky interjected, as he glared at the woman across the table. His tone much harsher than even Steve's had been. The only difference being, Bucky had meant his tone to be harsh.
"She doesn't have to tell you that.............."
"No, no, Mister Stark, that is quite alright." (Y/n) said, as she placed her hand on his arm. Giving it a small, reassuring pat, as the Winter Soldier rolled his eyes; Bucky getting a little sick of Stark's 'knight in shining armour' crap. The old soldier believing that the billionaire should be remembering with whom they were dealing.
"I was thinking about you.........well, all of you, in truth. A person does not get to meet the Avengers every day, and as you were gracious enough to accept Otto's invitation for this weekend, I was thinking more about where to take you, in town, tomorrow. I am sure that Mister Stark has been to the Grand Prix here, before; but for the rest of you, I just presumed that it was your first time, so I thought I would do my part to make it as memorable as possible for you..........." (Y/n) explained. Stark looking over at the two soldiers. The billionaire, and a couple of others around the table, beginning to wonder whether Fury's intel was right about this woman, whether it was right about this whole situation. Yet despite how pleasant, how helpful this (Y/n) was appearing to be, neither Steve, nor Bucky, was about to be taken in. Their own experiences with Hydra, with Johann Schmidt, telling them not to let their guard down for a minute. Both knowing that if the director's information was right, then Schmidt's "child", could be as pitiless and cruel as he had been. That she could be as intelligent and as megalomaniacal as her father. That the pretty face that was smiling at them from across the table, could concealed a multitude of sins.
"Happy............?" Tony asked, from across the table. Bucky just shaking his head, before turning his attention back to the glass in his hand.
>>------------------------------------<<
"What the hell was that all about.............?" The billionaire enquired, as the Avengers made their way back up to their rooms. His eyes firmly set on the two soldiers.
"What is it with you and that woman.............?" Bucky barked back. Annoyed, with how Stark seemed to be defending their target. Annoyed that the billionaire seemed to not care about what (Y/n) was. How he had apparently been taken in by her beauty and her seemingly pleasant demeanour.
"If I remember correctly, which of course, I do; the one-eyed wonder told us that he wanted us to make a good impression. That he wanted us to try and get close to Red Skull's daughter and bring her in to him, in hopes that S.H.I.E.L.D can break the brainwashing they have been conducting on her, since she was in the test tube. We aren't gonna be able to do that if you two continue to take this so personally." Tony reminded the two soldiers. Steve looking to his friend, having to admit that the billionaire did have a point; that they were, in fact, in Monte Carlo to try and bring her to their side. Bucky just shaking his head, before making his way to his room and slamming the door behind him. The Winter Soldier not about to listen to anyone when it came to this. Bucky not about to be pulled back into the hell that had controlled him for so long.
>>-----------------------------------<<
"Well............?" Otto asked, as he came up behind (Y/n) and unclipped the diamond necklace that she had been wearing all night.
"Interesting............Stark, Wilson and Banner are wavering a little. I believe that they are not sure that Fury has the right intel. Romanoff is, as I would expect, cautious. And Barton, well, I think that he would believe whatever the Widow believes. But the soldiers...........the soldiers, especially our Winter Soldier, wants my head. The look in his eyes, I must say, was quite stimulating. I could hear his heart pound, the blood rush through his veins. I don't think that there is any denying that if he had had a gun with him, he would most certainly have tried to use it on me." The Daughter of Hydra explained, as she turned to look at the older man.
"But, sargent Barnes does not realise that it is I that can have his head. The pain that he experienced as the Soldier, nothing to what I can do. Though I think I will see how tomorrow progresses. This whole thing, after all, was intended for me to meet some of my enemies, face to face. Yet, if the sargent does decide to do something; then I will have to take action, myself." (Y/n) continued. The notion of her taking "action" making Otto nervous. The billionaire well aware of what she was capable of.
"Good night, Otto................." She added, before placing a kiss to his cheek. Otto giving her a simple nod, before leaving the room. The Daughter of Hydra smiling to herself; sure, that before the Avengers left, she and the Winter Soldier would have yet another interesting interaction.
