Peter thought himself lucky as he stared across the plane at Harley. His spider-powers kept him from this horrid fate.

With a shudder, Peter watched as Harley nearly vomited again.

Motion sickness.

"You okay kid?" Tony asked as he entered the plane cabin, sick bag in hand.

Leaning against the seat Harley tried to muster up a glare. Ultimately failing, he took the new sick bag from Tony. "Peachy."

"The medicine should kick in soon," Tony said, setting his hand on Harley's shoulder, "and we're almost there!"

"Define 'almost'."

"Six hours," Peter deadpanned, "Six hours, Tony. Do not give him false hope."

"To be fair, the other side of the world is pretty far," Tony said, sitting down beside Peter.

"Don't listen to him," Peter told Harley, pulling out his phone. Clicking on the news app, Peter almost felt like he was back in his lab, throwing loose Japanese conversation back and forth with Karen. Now he could proudly read the news articles written in full Kanji. (A/N I think you could hold a conversation entirely in Kanji, based on what I know. Kanji was originally it's own language without Hiragana and Katakana, but that's all language nerd stuff you probably didn't need to know. Oh well.)

"Here," Peter said, "Honshu Attractions." (A/N Honshu is one of Japan's main islands. I think.)

(A/N Sorry for so many notes but please note that I have no clue what any Honshu attractions are I just chose it because thats where the DCMK characters live skreet skreet)

"There's Tokyo, obviously. And Kyoto.... What's this?" Peter leaned forward, eyes narrowing. "The Phantom Thief..?"

Tony tilted his head. "Is that some kind of play?"

"No," Peter responded, shaking his head. "This says he's an actual thief. And he's magical."

"A magical thief?" Eyebrows raised, Tony leaned back in his seat.

"Yep," Peter said. "A magical thief who tells the police what he's going to steal and when."

"And he hasn't been caught?"

"He's magical. How could he get caught?"

"Right." Thick sarcasm flooded Tony's voice, "magical. Makes stuff disappear into thin air, teleports, and I bet he can fly too."

Blinking, Peter prepared to respond with 'yes' when Harley vomited once again and Tony went to grab another sick bag.

Peter leaned his seat back and stared at the celling. Phantom Thief. That was new.

Twas the night— dang wait that doesn't work.

Moonlight fell across the crowd, the moon a bright circle against dark sky. From his perch on the museum's outside wall, Peter—dressed in the spidey suit—looked out at the gathering of people, surprised that a thief of all things could draw such a crowd.

Ginzo Nakamori—the head of the police force in charge of catching the Phantom Thief—stood in front of the museum, barking orders at his subordinates.

"This is new." Nearly jumping out of his suit, Peter turned to see a blonde man standing behind him.

「おえ, こんばんは。」(Oe, konban wa. —> Uh, hi?) (A/N I spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out that greeting and then translate it into romanji cause I don't know how the plain ol Japanese keyboard works ahaksnsm.) Peter responded shakily, continuing the Japanese speaking conversation.

Clearing their voice the man spoke again, this time in perfect English. "Do you speak English, natively?" His British accent somehow made the man seem more important, causing Peter to sit up straighter.

"Yeah. Was my Japanese that bad?" Peter asked.

"No. You speak the language quite well, in fact." Pulling a pocket watch from his long coat, he continued. "Your accent gave you away. American, correct?"

Peter nodded and tried to speak but was interrupted as the man slid the watch back into his coat pocket and held out his hand. "I am Saguru Hakuba."

"Spider-Man," Peter responded, shaking Saguru's hand.

"Now, not that this is an all-too-unusual question," Saguru started, "but why, pray tell, are you clinging to the side of a building?"

"Habit?"

"I certainly hope not," Saguru berated, "I've already got one masked figure to pull off the sides of buildings—I'd like to avoid another."

Climbing up onto the roof, Peter tilted his head. "Another?"

Pulling out the watch once more, Saguru nodded towards the balcony out front of the museum. Prepared to question Saguru again, Peter was interrupted by a plume of smoke from the balcony.

"Fire???" Peter panicked.

Saguru held Peter back as the hero tried to jump off the side of the building and swing down to the balcony. "Watch."

The smoke cleared and there stood a man dressed near entirely in white. From the hat to the monocle to the cape, there was white.

(Image from the second opening)

Pausing, Peter stared. "So that's the uncatchable thief."

"Indeed."

"He wears all white, announces what he's going to steal, where he's going to steal it, when he's going to steal it, on the brightest night possible, in front of hundreds of people... And he hasn't been caught?"

Saguru shook his head. "18 years of no luck."

"How the hell-"

"I wouldn't worry to much though." Smiling smugly, Saguru pulled Peter off to the side of the roof, "he's predictable."

"Then how-"

"Shh..." Saguru quieted Peter and the two waited in silence for a minute. Then a particular thief leapt up onto the roof and raced over to the side, jumping off with a simple wave to Saguru and Peter.

"Is he insane—" Peter was prepared to save the idiot when said idiot flew over the sea of people, holding a gem in his hand.

"A hang glider?" Peter asked, "He's magic and he's decided to escape using a hang glider?"

Saguru shrugged. "It is his way."

"Hold up, why didn't you stop him? Isn't he, like, a bad guy?" Peter asked.

"You'd think so, wouldn't you?" Saguru said, "but after getting to know him, you'll find he isn't so bad." Pause. "Well, I should be off. Farewell."

「さようなら。(Sayōnara —> Goodbye)

Nodding, Saguru left down the fire escape.

The next morning Peter pulled out his phone, deciding to read the latest news. Upon reading the headline he nearly choked on his cereal.

Phantom Thief Nearly Caught by Recent Rival Saguru Hakuba.

I'm sorry for so many A/Ns during the reading but yeh

Anyway, I said I'd explain DCMK right?

DCMK stands for Detective Conan / Magic Kaito. Detective Conan is an anime/manga with lots of spinoffs including Magic Kaito 1412, Hanzawa the Criminal, Zero's Tea Time, and possibly others. Mostly, this chapter focused on Magic Kaito. Actually, it only had Magic Kaito.

Basically Magic Kaito 1412 is about this highschool kid named Kuroba Kaito. Kaito is a magician kiddo. To describe his personality in two words: Chaotic Good.

Kaito is the Phantom Thief.

The show follows Kaito as he encounters the dangers of being a thief. One of his rivals is a detective named Hakuba Saguru.

After finding a fic shipping Hakuba and Kaito I couldn't help but continue shipping them so some of that shows up in this chapter.

Anywayyyy Kaito is more or less just a side rival in Detective Conan, a show about a highschool detective who got turned into a little kid and now has to solve murders without anyone knowing who he is. Also, he lives with the girl who was his girlfriend when he was older. She does not know who he is. It's a 10/10 show.

Greh, yeet skeet. Also noting I arranged the names as FirstName — LastName in the chapter but FamilyName — GivenName in the A/Ns so yeet skeet.

So yeah. If you're interested DCMK is pretty great. Fanfics I suggest are Midnight White(Kaishin Shipping), Shades of Grey(Sagukai shipping; yes I know it sounds like 50 Shades of Grey I swear there's no smut—at least in the first book. Haven't read the second or third yet), and His Feathers(Possibly Sagukai? It
Isn't finished but updates twice a week(Edit: The author has confirmed it is indeed Sagukai))

NOW if you want to read any of these fics I highly suggest you start with His Feathers because it's only available here on wattpad! Support your fellow wattpad authors!

Anyway yeah I think thats it bai~

<< Edit - Dec. 9th, 2019 >>

I know that I said something about a hiatus (possibly, I don't remember) two weeks ago but ehhhhhhh

If I run out of chapters I'll Hiatus then.

Yeet skeet.

Hope you enjoyed
