Peter Parker - Welcome
Requested by @supernaturally_
(y/h/t) stands for your home town.
You walked through the glass doors, into a brand new school in a brand new city. Queens was different from (y/h/t). You missed home, but realised you had to settle in. Queens, as much as you didn't want it to be, was your home now. You hitched your backpack over your shoulder and looked for the class you had first on your timetable; math in room G7. You skimmed the numbers on each door. You saw a room marked G6. G7 must be beside it. You opened the door and slipped quietly inside, following behind a boy. Within seconds, chaos had unfolded. The boy had dropped one of his textbooks, and when he bent down to retrieve it, you fell onto him before you could have figured out another route to the back row.
"Oh my," you gasped, standing up and straightening out your clothes. You realised you had also dropped your books on the way down, and bent down on your knees to pick everything up, "I'm so sorry."
"It's fine. Don't worry about it," the boy smiled. His face was perhaps the nicest one you had seen since you walked into the school. After helping you gather your things, the boy helped you up.
"I'm Peter. Peter Parker," after dumping his books on a desk, he offered you his hand to shake.
"I'm (Y/N) (Y/L/N). It's nice to meet you," you smiled, gently shaking his hand.
He gestured over to the seat beside him. You looked over and realised it was right at the front of the room. Ignoring the urge to retreat to the back, you grinned and sat down beside Peter. He seemed like a very genuinely nice person.
When class had finished, Peter came up to you.
"Do you know where your home room is?" He asked, peering over your shoulder as you inspected your timetable.
"Um," you started, pointing at the room name on the paper, "This one." You noticed him smiling as he looked at where you were pointing.
"What a coincidence. It looks like you're in almost all my classes. Come on, I'll take you to our home room."
You smiled, realising you weren't alone at this school. You now had Peter.
Throughout the day, Peter had walked with you side-by-side to all of your classes, making sure you didn't get lost. The bell to signal the end of the day had rung, and you and Peter were on your way out.
"Thank you so much for showing me around and keeping me company. If it weren't for you, I would've gotten lost for sure," you smiled.
"With great power comes great responsibility," he laughed, "It was a pleasure. If you didn't fall on me, I probably wouldn't have gotten to know you. You're one of the coolest girls I know, (Y/N)."
"You're pretty great too."
"Which way are you headed?" He asked. You pointed East, and he grinned lopsidedly as an idea came into his head.
"Me too," he smiled, "Mind if I walk you home?"
"No, of course not. That'd be great actually."
Fifteen minutes and a packet of crisps from your bag later, you'd reached your apartment and had to part ways with Peter until tomorrow. When he unzipped his bag to put his water bottle back inside, you noticed something strange, red and blue in his bag. You thought nothing of it, and turned to face the gate.
"I'll see you tomorrow, (Y/N)," Peter smiled.
"Bye," you smiled as Peter pulled you into a sideways hug before heading home.
Maybe Queens wasn't so bad after all.
