One-shot • Bucky and Sam • I hate you

"How am I supposed to fit in that?" Bucky cringed, eyeing the small, dark blue Volkswagen Beetle parked in front of him.

"Like this," Sam smirked, sliding into the front passenger seat.

"What!?" Bucky protested, "I don't even get to sit in the front!?"

"Buck, just get in the car," Steve sighed, opening the back door for him.

"But Steve," Bucky whined.

"No buts. Just get in, and sit down."

Followed by excessive protesting and grumbling from Bucky, he finally gave in and squished in behind Sam's chair.

"Did the princess finally decide to join us?" Sam smiled to himself. Before Bucky could retort, Steve intervened.

"Guys, I think that's enough."

"What did I do!?" Bucky hissed, "Bird man is the one calling me 'princess'!"

Sam whipped around to face Bucky, "What did you just call me?"

Steve placed his hand in between both their faces, and mustered a stern look, "If you guys don't stop, I'm kicking you out and you'll have to walk to the airport. And when you're walking with the most wanted man in the world, I don't think that'd end up too great for you."

With no further protest, Steve started up the car, not without the engine spluttering and coughing for a while before it actually got moving.

"Don't forget to put your seat belt on, Buck. We don't want a repeat of what happened back in 1935 with your mom's new car," Steve grinned, knowing that Bucky would immediately remember and start shaking in his boots. Let's just say that having his mom scream at him for involuntarily diving head-first through the windscreen when the car stopped unexpectedly didn't go down too well for 18-year-old James Buchanan Barnes who hadn't bothered to buckle up his seatbelt.

The drive was silent, the only speaking occurred when Steve started a conversation or asked a question. Steve then decided to turn on the radio, which was playing P!NK's 'Just Like Fire'.

"I like this song," Bucky smiled, "Can you turn it up?"

"Sorry buddy, got my hands on the wheel," Steve replied, "Sam?"

Smirking, Sam reached his hand out to turn the knob when he instead decided to turn the radio off completely. You could feel the annoyed tension rising between the occupants of the car; one who was seated in the passenger seat, and the other directly behind him.

"Guys, can't you just get along for once?" Steve pleaded.

"Who says we aren't getting along?" Sam's smirk hadn't wiped off his face, "I just like seeing Barnesy back there squirm."

"I hate you," Bucky laughed.

Well, I got inspired by a meme I found while searching through countless photos of Sebastian Stan. Who else can't wait to see the gag reel for Civil War?
