Loki ✰ Infinity

The constant sound of your boots clacking on the clean, white tiles sent your heart thumping as if you were a rabbit. The white-painted corridors echoed with every step you took. You were nearing a door labelled clearly with the words 'Authorised Personnel Only. Protective Equipment Required' and noticed the retinal scanner adjacent to it. Navigating your way through government facilities was definitely not something you did on a regular basis. You paused as you reached the door, and glared at the lock, hoping you somehow got the power to laser things with your eyes in the last few seconds.

"What are you doing?" A hushed voice broke the eerie silence.

"I don't know!" You panicked, trying to keep your voice as quiet as possible, "Aren't you supposed to have some sort of thingy that can open these sorts of things?"

Loki laughed, the sound bouncing off the walls, prompting you to have another mini heart attack. His raven hair fell over his shoulders, accompanying the black suit that hugged his masculine figure perfectly. Rolling up his right sleeve, he smiled at you, "I don't have a thingy to unlock it with, but I do have this."

Magical green light began to emit from the retinal scanner as Loki contorted his fingers in a fluid motion. Seconds later, the door had unlocked, and cold air began to escape as it opened.

"I'm scared, Loke," you admitted, turning to look at him.

Loki glanced around the corridors quickly to make sure you were alone before placing his hands on your shoulders, "I promise no harm will come to you. I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe. I love you more than anything in all the nine realms."

You smiled, "I love you too, and I trust you."

"That's a first," Loki chuckled half-heartedly.

Without further hesitation, Loki held the door open so the two of you could slip inside. You tiptoed towards the safe and Loki immediately motioned his fingers to open it as a green light emitted from the inside. You slipped your hand inside and gently grabbed the vial, holding it as carefully as you could. Loki went ahead of you and pulled the first door open. You ran out of the freezing room, and Loki placed a temporary enchantment on the vial to make sure it wouldn't break.

"I can't believe it," you let out a breath you didn't realise you were holding in, and grinned at the Norse god walking beside you, "That was easier than I thought it would be."

"Don't get too excited. We have to get out the mortal way this time. Strange can't get us back out safely with the vial in our possession. We've got to do this on our own."

Your stomach dropped, a sick feeling crawling it's way quickly into your whole body as you took in a deep breath. You began to walk in long strides in an effort to make your way out as quickly as possible.

"Listen to me, (Y/N). Everyone out there is going to be trying to kill us in order to take the vial from us. If there's a need to fight, we fight. And we fight to kill. The fate of humanity is resting on our shoulders. Do you understand?" Loki spoke with clear intentions.

"Yeah, I do," you answered submissively, sweat starting to bead on your forehead, "I've never done this before."

Loki paused to think, memories of his past villainous ways coming to mind, "It's alright. Neither have I."

Within moments, you had both walked into a room filled with people in white lab coats. As the door shut behind you, they all turned to look at you, fear consuming them as they recognised the lethal contents of vial. Your pace quickened as more corridors came into view, and scientists began to stir.

"Stop them!" A loud, authoritative voice boomed from the direction you were walking towards, gun in hand.

"Give me your hand," Loki ordered, making sure your hands were gripping firmly before he closed his eyes momentarily. All of a sudden, you had walked past the officer without him noticing, shooting at the decoys Loki's magic had created.

"Hurry," an urgent tone laced his words, "They won't last much longer."

You nodded your head in acknowledgement and began to run as Loki let go of your hand. People and rooms flew past as you ran for your life, dreading the moment you would become visible again.

Seconds later, your appeared amidst a group of security guards who jumped when you and Loki appeared. Immediately, Loki whipped into action, his new sceptre forming in his hands by magic before striking a guard in the head.

They started pursuing, shouting in an attempt to stop you from taking the vial. You and Loki continued to run, rounding corners as if you had a map of the facility painted in your mind.

"We're almost there!" Loki called as a smile began to tug on the edges of his lips.

"Thank goodness! If I ever get my hands on that Thanos..." You growled.

"I'm never letting you anywhere near that monster! If he wants to get to you, he'll have to go through me first!"

The exit came into view, and you fell into an outright sprint as Loki smashed the glass door with his sceptre. You found your way onto the street, cars stopped for miles and shops blazing. However, everything was still, literally. Time had been paused. A single, threatening figure loomed above you.

Your heart had all but stopped in that moment, and you knew Loki was just as frightened as you were by the way his hand clenched onto yours as he pulled you into his side protectively.

The purple man chuckled menacingly, the golden gauntlet on his hand glinting in what sunlight had not been blocked by smoke.

"Loki Laufeyson," Thanos started, a deep voice emanating from his throat, "I trusted you."

"You sent Hela to destroy Asgard, the only home I had ever known. Did you honestly believe I had no plans to save the lives of others? You changed me, but not the way you wanted," Loki held his head high as he spoke to Thanos.

"The whole double agent thing doesn't suit you, Asgardian. Neither does this girl," he spat.

"Do not speak of (Y/N) that way! I love her more than I've ever loved anyone in my life!"

"I'm afraid I have no choice but to release my world-destroying virus. So hand me the vial, boy, and I won't hurt her."

Suddenly, dozens of familiar faces, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers and everyone else came into view as Loki's eyes narrowed at Thanos.

"This means war."

A/N: Soooooo did you like it? It's kind of an idea I had about the Infinity Wars. I'm so excited for them, especially if Loki would turn into a double agent, and then meet Bucky. That would just be a dream come true. 60 or so days until GOTG2 and I'm so excited! Groot is so adorable!
