Bucky Barnes - Safe House • Pt 2

*Civil War spoilers*
If you haven't yet seen the movie, I don't suggest reading this if you don't want any spoilers at all. Once you've seen it, come back and read it. Thanks!

You'd began to worry he wouldn't show up. Bucky, that is. You and Bucky had been going out for about half a year, and today you arranged to meet him again where you first met, and now here you were, and here he wasn't. He's ten minutes late. All of a sudden, your phone went off, and Bucky's contact appeared.

Great. He's going to cancel.

"Hey Bucky," you answered.

"I'm sorry. We can't meet at the café today, but if you'd still like to see me, could you please turn around and come outside?"

You turned around and there he was, waiting in front of the window. You hung up the phone and rushed outside. When he saw you smile, his face lit up.

"(Y/N)," he smiled, embracing you in a tight hug.

"I thought you were gonna cancel on me," you half-laughed.

"I'd never do that to a doll like you."

The two of you began walking down the street and eventually stopped at a fruit stall.

Bucky picked up some plums and shoved them into a plastic bag.

"Cîte ai acolo?" asked the cashier (how many do you have there?)

"Um," Bucky paused to count the plums, "Șase." (Six)

After Bucky handed the man some money, you continued walking down the street. A man in a nearby newspaper stall stared at Bucky and vice versa before Bucky told you to stay while he went to talk to the man. Before he could, the man disappeared and Bucky took a good look at the front page. You didn't know, but Bucky was on the front page, and was being accused of carrying out the explosion that killed King T'Chaka of Wakanda. That made no sense, since he'd been here in Romania talking to you on the phone when this explosion happened yesterday. Besides, he doesn't do that kind of a stuff anymore since he escaped from HYRDA. You continued walking until you reached a cosy, little park where Bucky and you proceeded to sit on a bench.

He offered you a plum, which you gratefully took. For the next five minutes, you both just sat there, staring out at the pond in front of you that glistened in the sunlight, eating the plums. You were both perfectly happy to just take in each other's company.

Bucky was a very nice person, and over the past few months, he seemed a little off. When you mentioned childhood or the past, Bucky would close up and make an excuse to listen to everything you had to say because he'd "rather listen to you, because his stories wouldn't be as interesting".

"Buck?" You spoke, "I'm beginning to get the feeling you're hiding something from me."

His eyes widened and he practically choked on the plum he was eating.

"Why don't you tell me about what happened when you were a little boy?"

Bucky paused for a moment, and took a deep breath. If he was going to potentially spend the rest of his life with you, he may as well open up. Now.

A mischievous smile crept onto his face, "What do you want to know? That I was born a hundred years ago?"

"Very funny, Buck, but I'm being serious here."

"So am I."

You raised an eyebrow at him, "Tell me the truth, Buck."

"You want the truth? I'll give you the truth. My full name is James Buchanan Barnes. I was born on the 10th of March," he paused, "1917. I know you think you haven't heard of me before I spilt coffee onto you, but most of the world knows me as the Winter Soldier."

You didn't know whether to believe him or not, but judging by the solemn look on his face, and the haunting memories you now believed were hidden behind those beautiful, blue eyes, you knew he wasn't kidding around.

"I completely understand if you don't want to see me ever again. I know I wouldn't," he finished as he stood up from the bench.

You quickly but gently grabbed his hand and made him sit back down.

"I love you Bucky. I know it's taken me six months to say it, but I mean every word. Nothing, not even the fact that you used to be an assassin, will change that," you pulled on the collar of his shirt and planted a kiss on his lips.

"I don't deserve you," he smiled as you broke away from the kiss, holding your hands in his.

"Yes, you do."

Then, you both started walking back to your house, hand in metal hand.

Little did he know, his best friend was waiting for him back in his apartment, and the Police were looking for him to bring him to justice for something he didn't even do.

Bucky got to eat his plums! I'm planning on writing one last part for this! The whole movie could've just been Bucky going grocery shopping and I still would've watched and loved every moment of it.
