Black Panther/T'Challa - Eyes like yours

Requested by @KianaLynn

You were a threat. There weren't many people that could sneak into the king of Wakanda's living quarters, so you were definitely a threat. You needed Vibranium, and you needed it fast. A secret organisation that basked in the shadow of Hydra, called the 'Red Skull Society', had given you an ultimatum; Get their Vibranium from Wakanda, or die. You were supplied with a disguise, or rather a costume. A sleek, black catsuit and a balaclava.

Your heart leapt out of your chest, beating rapidly as you approached the vault that the precious metal was held in. You began to sweat, and before you could think twice, you had been flipped on to your back. You quickly jumped back on your feet, turning to face your opponent. In front of you stood a man, his whole body covered in a back suit with a few white and silver accents. However, when you saw the little cat ears on the top of his mask, you couldn't help but laugh to yourself.

You knew exactly who this was — T'Challa, the king of Wakanda.

"I know who you are," you spoke, your eyes fixated on the figure in front of you.

"I don't care."

You ran, faster than you'd ever ran in your life. You needed that Vibranium. You needed to stay alive. When T'Challa started pursuing you, you could help but mock him.

"Looks like T'Challa ain't got no T'chill."

"What did you just say?" You heard him say from behind you, barely out of breath.

"Nothing!" You ran, and finally reached the vault where the metal was kept. Immediately, you broke the glass and used the device the Red Skull Society gave you to unlock the safe. Carefully pulling the Vibranium out of its place, you turned around to face T'Challa. You braced yourself, thinking that the Black Panther would easily take you down and lock you up.

"What are you doing?" You were shocked when he asked a question, instead of fight.

"What does it look like?"

"Why are you doing this? I know that someone with such innocent eyes as yours would not do something like this for no good reason," he retracted the claws of his suit, realising he had no need for them.

"How can you trust something that can be so unreliable?"

"You or your eyes?"

You paused to think, "Both."

"I've seen a lot in my time. I've seen people who have had all the innocence taken out of their lives, by no choice of their own. I would hate to see that happen again."

"If I don't do this, I'll be killed," you had no idea why you were telling this man so much, but you felt as though you could trust him.

"Not if I can help it," with that, he reached out to your face and pulled the balaclava off, throwing it on the floor.

"You don't need this," he added.

"What are you doing?" You asked.

"Saving your life."

He gently took the Vibranium from your hands, and placed it back in the vault. He then slipped off his mask, placing it on a table. His face was the very definition of Wakandan royalty.

"Why?" You questioned, looking him dead in the eyes.

"Eyes like yours need to be protected. The things that a life of crime would bring would ruin them."

"They'll come for me, you know?"

A hint of a smile tugged at his lips, "Let them try."
