(Spideypool) I can't do this anymore

(: Requested: Spideypool angst! Fair warning, there is mention of attempted suicide. Other than that, this is just really sad and heartbreaking... but has a happy ending. Just keep that in mind and read at your own risk. Anywhore, I hope you like it! :)

***Trigger warning*** Mentions of attempted suicide ***

"Peter, I'm sorry. I don't know how to explain- I can't explain." Wade was looking down at their hands as he spoke, occasionally rubbing his thumb over the top of Peter's hand. "There are some things about me that I've lied to you about... That I've kept from you. It was always to keep you safe- or maybe to keep me safe from you leaving me..."

"What are you talking about?" Peter slid closer to Wade on the bench and leaned down to catch his gaze at the ground, "You won't even look at me. What's going on?"

Wade finally looked up into the hazel eyes he'd grown to love so much, and he finally said it, "I'm breaking up with you."

He watched as the life left Peter's eyes, saw the light in them diminish into nothing. Peter sat up and leaned back on the bench, "This is a horrible joke, Wade."

"I'm not joking. I wish I was, but-"

"We've been together since freshman year. It's the senior year, Wade. 4 years!"

"I can't risk you getting hurt because of me. I'm not right for you Pete! There are things I've lied to you about, things I've kept from you, things I can't tell you. I'm sorry... Petey, if I could do something to change this I would. But I can't change my choices in the past... I can't undo some things. I wish I could.." Peter was now fully sobbing into his hands. Wade saw his opportunity and stood up, "I will always love you. In another life- I don't know- but maybe we were meant to be? In this one, it's just... it's pretty impossible. I don't want you to waste your time with me when you could be finding somebody better. I..." Wade didn't finish, he just bit his tongue and walked away and out of Peter's life.

The first month Peter didn't even leave his room. His parents, Tony and Steve, were worried sick the first two weeks. That's when the team came together and started trying to get Peter out of his room at least once a day.

Tony would invite him down to his workshop and they'd create things together for hours on end, long into the night where Peter would get so delusionally tired he would actually laugh and have fun dancing around the lab singing. Steve would take him to the gym and they would spar for an hour or two. Loki, Pietro, and Clint would all play pranks with him on other members of the household. Bruce would let him sit around his lab and help him work. Thor tried to offer him advice, Asgardian advice somehow made a whole lot of sense to Peter, Nat would do yoga with him, and Wanda would make them tea and sit in the quiet/ calming room of the tower for hours. Sometimes they would talk, other times they wouldn't. Bucky gave him a notebook and a bunch of pens, on the inside he had written, Try to write it all out. Sort through it on paper, make it clear in the mind. I hope it works for you too. Let me know if I can help. And Peter started writing.

Months passed of the same thing every day; Peter would wake up from a dream involving Wade, he'd go to cry in the shower, throw on a hoodie and sweatpants, get on his things and go to school. School consisted of trying to keep his head low and go unnoticed by everyone, including his teachers. His grades were slipping, but they were still high for the average student, especially considering he was in all honors classes. Still, normally he'd care about having the highest GPA in the school, but not now, not anymore. What was the point? When he got home from school he would head straight to his room and lay on his bed until someone knocked on his door, offering to do something with him. It was a different person pretty much every day, and some days he would say yes, while other times he'd deny it.

Tonight was one of the nights he'd decided to decline any offers. It had been 6 months, half a year without any appearance from Spiderman. Tonight was the night Peter had chosen to go back out to check on the town, but he couldn't stand the thought of putting on his suit. He headed down to Tony's shop and began making himself a new suit. Black with gray and white detailing. He didn't really want to be seen so his spiderman logo wasn't put on the suit, only the webbing details throughout the torso in white and the gray gloves and shoes.

He swung through his usual routes, nothing to be seen, he hadn't realized but he was looking for something in particular- or rather, someone. He finally found him walking away from a pancake house restaurant.

"Deadpool!"

"Spidey?" Deadpool looked up from his plate of pancakes," I was just about to sit on that edge and eat this. Care to join me?"

"You seem in a gloomy mood," Spiderman said as he sat with Deadpool.

"I'd say the same about you," He eyed the costume up and down, "What's with the change in colors. Going through your goth phase? I heard Tobey had one of those too."

"Who's- Nevermind. I just needed something to keep me hidden. I haven't been patrolling in 6 months. I wanted something that wasn't a dead give-a-way that I was Spiderman. Speaking of, how did you know it was me?"

"I can recognize your ass from a mile away." He joked, but went back to seriousness, "No, um, you might not want to do any webbing on your suit if you're trying not to be noticed as Spiderman. It's too obvious."

Spiderman looked over the edge he sat on, he was totally safe and he knew that for sure, but he didn't want to be safe anymore. He stood up and began pacing back and forth on the ledge as if it were a tightrope. "I guess you could say I've been going through a bit of a goth phase, in a way. My boyfriend sorta dumped me a few months ago, it still feels like yesterday though."

"What a dick."

"He said it was him, not me. That he wasn't enough for me, we didn't work together, all that great bull-" He stopped and sighed. "But I just can't live without him anymore. It's too painful, I-"

He broke off in a sob as he stood up onto the ledge he was sitting on and jumped. Deadpool jumped immediately after and pulled Spiderman into his arms mid-air, "Peter, what the Hell?!"

"How did you-"

"We'll talk about it later, shoot your little web thingy and save our asses from dying!"

Peter shot his web in an attempt to catch them, but it didn't shoot far enough and they ended up with Deadpool taking the fall damage and saving Peter from the impact. Peter got up off of the other male, "Are you okay? Deadpool, say something."

He groaned, "That hurt."

"Why would you jump after me?"

"Because I'm the one that made you jump."

"What do you-" He gasped, "No... you're lying. Prove it!"

He pulled his mask off, "I wouldn't lie to you, Petey."

"Wade..." He trailed off, and took his mask off, "How long has it been you? Why didn't you tell me? How long have you known I was Spiderman?"

"It's always been me. I didn't know how to. But, as I said, I could tell it's your ass from a mile away. I've always known, that's why I had to leave." He sighed, "I didn't want you to get hurt and it be my fault. I didn't think it would lead to this."

"You didn't think I'd miss you like crazy? What, y-you thought I'd just go back to normal after a few days? I'm in love with you, you idiot!"

"Pete, I-"

Peter cut him off, continuing to go off at Wade, "I can protect myself by the way. You can't break up with me for my own protection Wade. If you want to leave me, then just say that and go. But don't lie to me, Wilson. It's funny actually; you didn't want me to get hurt by one of your enemies, so you hurt me yourself by leaving. A genius plan! Gee, why didn't I think of that? Probably because it's so fucking-"

"Look!" Wade stopped him, "I know it was fucking stupid. I didn't know at the time, okay? I made a mistake and I'm sorry. But I have some internal bleeding going on right now, so it would be great if I could go lay in my bed while I heal, please?"

Peter took a shaky breath before nodding and pulling his mask on, "I'll take us."

Once they arrived Wade tossed his mask on the table and made his way for the bedroom. Peter went and grabbed him a bottle of water out of the fridge and some of the painkillers from the medicine cabinet. Wade came into the kitchen and handed Peter the t-shirt he always wore when he slept over there, "Stay the night?"

Peter nodded and Wade helped him unzip the back of his suit before heading off to change in the bedroom. Peter took his suit off and changed into the slightly oversized shirt before making his way to Wade and giving him the pills and water.

He took a seat on the edge of the bed, "I'm sorry I freaked out at you... I just- I forgot about the fall and I was just so mad, I-"

"You don't have to apologize. I deserved it. Come 'ere." Peter turned to see Wade's arms stretched out open, welcoming Peter into his embrace. He crawled up the bed and into Wade's arms and just relaxed.

He sniffled back his tears, "Please don't leave me again. I need you... I need us."

"I made a mistake leaving you the first time. I'm so sorry I messed up that. Baby, I will never do that to you again. I love you, Pete."

"I love you too."

"Sleep, okay? I'll be right here when you wake up. I'll be here for as long as you'll have me."

"You're gonna be here a long time then, Wilson."

"I'm counting on it, Spidey," Wade said before they slowly fell asleep together.

(: HEARTBREAKING in the beginning. Peter suffered so much! But, a happy ending is worth it, right? If you liked it, leave a vote for it! Follow me for more, but until next time, I love y'all <3:)
