Steve loved Bucky and before and during the war Bucky loved Steve. The military doesn't allow that. They were in constant pain because they just couldn't be together.

There were in the barracks Bucky was reading and Steve was drawing, they were holding hands but that was the most they could do. Love and pain were the only things they felt.

When Bucky fell of the train all they could feel was love and pain.

When Steve heard Bucky was alive all he felt was love. He didn't know Bucky was just feeling pain.

When Steve saw Bucky he felt love but when Bucky didn't know who he was or himself he felt just pain.

When they were in the way to Wakanda it was love and pain.

When Bucky saw Steve again it was all love. All he could feel was love for the handsome super soldier. He was finally not in pain. It was constant pain till now when he could just be with the love of his life.

Eventually they got married and that day was all love.
