You cuddle with Rogue to stay warm on a cold, winter night.

More often than not, snow brings a sense of calm and wonder, a silent, romantic even act of nature.

Though, calm and romantic was not what would best describe your current predicament.

You had managed to score free lounging at the X-Mansion with a good word from your latest romantic conquest, Rogue, with a chance of joining the X-Men, and all was going well into the winter...

That was until the power for the mansion went out during a crazy low temperature snowstorm.

The mansion quickly became colder by the minute, with all blankets, candles, and gasoline heaters being used to the fullest.

You managed to claim an extra set of blankets from storage, and used them to turn your room's bed into a fortress against the cold.

Meanwhile, Rogue, who was staying in your room, used the last of the fuel supply you had to keep the heater running for at least another hour.

You were piling blanket after blanket onto the bed as Rogue did everything in her power to keep the heater running just a bit longer.

Rogue: Crap, it's not going to work past thirty more minutes.

You: Don't worry honey, you will be warm with these covers.

You finished setting the blankets on your bed.

Rogue: I will be warm? What about you?

You: Don't worry about me, I can crash with Colossus across the hall.

Rogue: Babe, you're really going to cuddle with a giant metal dude?

You: I don't want you to feel uncomfortable with me on top you in the bed, and I already talked to Colossus, minimum of five inches between us.

Rogue: Why would I feel uncomfortable around you? We've been dating for months.

You: Yeah, but we've never shared a bed.

Rogue: There's a first time for everything babe, now get in the bed.

You: Are you serious?

Rogue: You're not freezing because you feel awkward, now get in this bed or I drag you into it.

You panicked.

You: Can I...go tell Colossus I don't need his bed?

Rogue rolled her eyes.

Rogue: You better be back soon, I don't want to sleep alone.

You ran out of the room, across the hall, to Colossus' room.

Colossus

Colossus: Friend! I was just going to see you, I have a cd of rainforest sounds that will surely give us a peaceful rest.

You: Um...okay....look, Rogue wants me to share the bed in my room, but I feel awkward, you're surprisingly humble and wise, what do I do?

Colossus put his hand on his chin.

Colossus: My friend, it is common for a man to feel nervous with such a large sign of affection, especially in a situation like this. But for you to truly feel closer to Rogue, the woman you love, you must brace your fears and show her that nothing can stop your love for her.

Colossus put his heavy hand on your shoulder.

Colossus: She needs you tonight, my friend. Don't keep her waiting.

You were not expecting Colossus' words to be so deep.

You: Thanks bro, sorry for leaving you hanging.

Colossus: No worries, I still have the sounds of the rainforest.

You left Colossus' room, and went back into your room.

Rogue was snuggled in, waiting for you.

You: So...I'm coming in.

Rogue smiled lightly.

Rogue: Good, it feels cold without you.

You got under the thick covers, and snuggled close to Rogue, facing each other as your combined warmth touched your bodies.

You: This is nice.

Rogue: Yeah, it is, we've never really just relaxed in bed like this.

You: we should do it more often, when the heat is on.

You both laughed.

Rogue: That sense of humor is why I love you.

You: And I love you because you laugh at my jokes.

You cuddled closer to Rogue, wrapping your arms around her.

Rogue: I thought you said this was awkward.

You: It's starting to grow on me.

Rogue wrapped her arms around you, snuggling her head into your neck.

Rogue: Let's stay like this all night.

You: I'm down.

You both nodded off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Colossus was in his room, listening to the sounds of the rainforest.

Colossus: Peaceful rainforests...(yawn)...so relaxing...

Colossus nodded off to sleep.
