Your Hero (Cap x Reader)

You watch him from the corner. He paces around the room, acting like you weren't even there. Like his sheep didn't kidnap you and tie you up days ago and tape your mouth shut to keep you from screaming between their few offered meals.
"Then you best figure out a way to stop him, general." He spits, his red face somehow turning deeper. "Because I can't keep having him ruining our plans."
"I understand, sir. Our newest invention should be ready by morning." The shorter man stutters.
"It better be or it'll cost you." He shouts. The shorter man stumbles out of the room, probably running off to finishing whatever terrible weapon they're creating.
You squirm in the corner, trying to find a comfortable position and a way to possibly untie the ropes around your wrists and ankles. Unfortunately, it seems one of the cowards working under Hydra was in boy scouts because you're not getting these loosened without a knife.
You freeze, hearing his footsteps echoing closer and closer. You look up, your eyes meeting his frightening blue ones. He reaches out, ripping the tape off of your mouth. You let out a small yelp as he snatches your chin and forces you to look at his face.
"What was a little rat like you doing outside my base?" He asks, slightly spitting on your face.
"I-I wasn't trying to. I just happened to-"
"Spare me your lies." He cuts off. "Tell me the truth I'll see how much of you I can save."
"But I'm not lying." You stutter. "I really had no idea this was here. I was going climbing, I always climb out here this time of year."
A terrible grin grew on his face. "Then this just turned into your lucky day."
"What?" You ask as his cold fingers release your chin.
"Do you know who I am?" He asks. You shake your head as he lets out a loud laugh. "I'm Johann Schmidt. Or as I now go, The Red Skull."
"Is that supposed to mean something to me?" You ask, making him growl and lean close to you.
"It will." He harshly spits. You flinch, closing your eyes. When you peek, he's walking away. You can hear him talking to his brainwashed minions, saying that you're not a threat.
But you are.
You've been briefed about him too many times to count. Your mission was to get as much information as possible without getting caught. Thankfully, your acting skills before the war came in handy and got him off your trail. Now you just need to find a way out of here.
Before you can study your surroundings, a loud bang catches your attention. Everyone's eyes land on the door, seeing what must be the world's most toned man. A large 'A' is plastered on his helmet and a bold star stands out on his chest.
There's no doubt he's an American.
"Ah, Captain America." Red Skull says, walking to the center. Yup, your first impression was correct. "It's nice to finally meet you again."
"It's time to give it up, Red Skull. You've lost." He shouts back, his voice sending shivers down your spine. Who was this man?
"You see, Captain, that's where you're wrong. I'm just getting started." Red Skull grins. He whips out a weapon, aiming it at your rescuer. Before the blast can hit him, he defends himself with a stunning shield.
You let out a scream, laying as low to the ground as you can to not get hit with the rebound.
"Agent (Y/L/N)!" He shouts out, making you open your eyes. "Don't worry! I'm here to save you!"
"Agent?" Red Skull asks, looking over at you. He glares. "I knew you weren't being honest with me." He growls, aiming the weapon at you. You let out a scream as you see the blast heading right for you.
You open your eyes, seeing Captain America protecting both of you with his shield. He glances over his shoulder, his gorgeous blue eyes meeting yours. "Are you alright?"
"Just fine." You say. "I'd better if I wasn't tied up though."
"Don't worry, I'll fix that." He says, deflecting another blast. He jumps forward to Red Skull. You watch in admiration as he bravely fights the true villain of the war. Almost as quickly as it started, Captain America has Red Skull pinned to the ground. "It's over now." He says.
"No. Not yet." Red Skull groans, rolling over. Soldiers come filing in, some having their weapons trained on Red Skull while others take him into custody. "You may have captured me, Captain America, but I've started somethings that will never die. After all, you cut off one head, two will grow in its place!" He exclaims as he's dragged from the room.
Captain America is slightly panting, his eyebrows narrowed in thought. Suddenly, he rushes over to you. "Agent (Y/L/N)." He says. "I'll get you out of this. You're safe now."
One of the soldiers hands him over a knife and he cautiously cuts free your wrists and your ankles. You rub your wrists, which are slightly red from being so tightly tied. "Are you alright?" He says, getting your attention.
"I'm okay now." You says, starting to stand. You slightly lose balance, falling into his arms. "Sorry."
"Can you walk?" He asks, one hand resting on your lower back and other on your shoulder.
"Yeah, I should be good." You brush off. You're an agent after all. You're trained for this. As you take a few more steps, you lose your balance. Before you can tumble to the ground, he snatches you and holds you close.
"I don't think you're okay. Do you mind if I carry you?" He asks, worry present in his stunning blue eyes.
"Sure. That's probably best." You say. As if you weigh nothing, he picks you up and cradles you in his arms. You lean against his strong chest and relax in his arms. This was way better than walking. You close your eyes, drifting off almost immediately. This was the most comfort you'd had in days.

You bolt awake, looking around for an indication where you could possibly be. "It's okay. It's okay." He comforts, gently touching your shoulders. You remember what happened a few hours ago as you look out the window. You and Captain America are riding in a small jeep, probably headed back to base.
"How long was I out?" You ask, sitting up.
"Only a few hours." He answers. The sun is setting behind him. His cowl is off and you can see his messy blond hair. You have to admit, he's very attractive. Of course, the muscles are amazing, but you can hardly take your eyes off the gentle features on his face. Those soft blond locks and his gentle blue eyes have you swooning. "How are you feeling, Agent (Y/L/N)?" He asks, taking you from your daydream.
"(Y/F/N)."
"What?" He asks, leaning closer to you.
"Just call me (Y/F/N)." You say. "There's no need for that agent garbage."
He lets out a gentle chuckle. "Okay. How are you, (Y/F/N)?" He asks, making your cheeks feel warm.
"I'm okay now." You smile, looking down at your hands. "I wish I had a mirror right about now, though. I'm sure my hair is a mess." You say, running your fingers though the deep tangles. Hydra didn't exactly let you clean yourself up while you were there.
"Well, I think you look very pretty if that means anything." He says, brushing his locks from his forehead.
You give a soft smirk. "You know, I never did a catch a name. That is, unless you want me to only refer to you as Captain America." You lightly tease.
He holds out his hand. "Rogers. Steve Rogers." He introduces.
You shake his strong hand. How much did this guy have to work out to achieve this perfection? "Thank you for saving me, Steve." You smile.
"It's not often I get to rescue beautiful girls. I usually just get to beat up bad guys." He chuckles, his cheeks a tint of pink as he lets go of your hand. He scratches the back of his neck, clearly a little flustered.
"Well, you do a good job at it." You say. You let out a soft yawn, your eyelids feeling heavy again.
He reaches down to the ground and pulls up a blanket. "You should probably get some more sleep. Besides, it's almost nightfall." He says, gently laying it on top of you.
"I didn't get much sleep at Hydra anyway. Not the most comfortable beds if you can believe it." You lightly laugh, trying to make light of your kidnapping.
But he doesn't laugh. You watch him study you then tuck the blanket around your feet with a sigh. "Well, we'll make sure to find you the most comfortable bed once we return." He says with a soft smile.
"Thank you, Steve." You say, closing your eyes.
"Just doing my job, (Y/F/N)." He replies, making butterflies flutter in your stomach. You softly smile, drifting off to sleep. What were the odds that you were going to be saved by someone so charming and so attractive?
