More Than Anything (R. Racoon)
This was requested by Squish98 I hope you like it!!
So, this will be a bit different. You will be Gamora and Nebula's sister, and you secretly like Rocket. Now, I know what you're thinking. He's a freaking racoon! Well, he's not a raccoon in this one, just imagine Bradley Cooper. Also, you and Rocket will be taking the place of Gamora and Peter when Thanos comes. Hope that was perfectly not confusing!
...
You sit in a seat of Quill's ship, half asleep while the team sings along to an old 80's song.
"Sing it, Drax!" Quill shouts.
Little does he know, Drax is asleep with his mouth hanging open. You were tempted to put something in his mouth.
You yawn.
"Why are we doing this again?" You ask.
"It's a distress signal, Y/n. Someone could be dying." Gamora says, obviously annoyed at her little sister.
"We get that, but why are we doing it?" Rocket backs you up.
You smile as a light blush dusted your face. You had a small crush on the pilot. Okay, that was an understatement. You really, really liked him.
"'Cause we're nice. And maybe whoever it is will give us a little cheddar cheese for our help." Quill says.
Gamora looks at Quill.
"Which isn't the point." She says.
He points at her.
"Which isn't the point... I mean... if he doesn't pony up...."
"We'll take his ship." Drax says, making you jump from his sudden appearance.
"Exactly!" Rocket exclaims.
"B-b-b-bingo!" Quill says.
"We are arriving." Mantis says.
You sit up, making sure you're gun was still attached at your hip and your dagger still at your ankle.
"All right, Guardians. Don't forget, this might be dangerous, so let's put on our mean faces." Quill orders.
Groot rolls his eyes as Mantis makes a snarl. Groot's handheld Terran-vintage video game beeps.
"Groot, put that thing away. Now. I don't wanna tell you again." Groot ignores Quill, "Groot."
"I am Groot!" Groot mocks.
"Whoa!" Quill says.
"Language!" You scold.
"Hey!" Gamora snaps.
"Wow." Drax remarks.
"You got some acorns on you, kid." Quill tells Groot.
"Ever since you got a little sap, you're a total d-hole. Keep it up, and I'm gonna smash that thing to pieces!" Rocket threatens.
You look out into space to see bodies covering the area.
"What happened?" Mantis asks.
"Looks like we're not getting paid." Rocket remarks.
Just then, a body landed on the windshield.
"Wipers! Wipers! Get it off!" Rocket says, waving his hands.
The man's eye opens.
You all get the man inside and set him on a table.
"How the hell is this dude still alive?" Quill asks.
Drax gawked at the man.
"He is not a dude. You're a dude. This... this is a man. A handsome, muscular man."
"I'm muscular." Quill says, sounding deflated.
"Who are you kidding, Quill? You're one sandwich away from fat." Rocket says, taking a place next to you, putting his elbow on your shoulder.
"Yeah, right." Quill defended.
"It's true. You have gained a little weight...." Drax says, motioning to his chin and belly.
"What? Gamora, do you think I'm..."
"He is anxious. Angry. He feels tremendous loss and guilt." Mantis says.
You stay silent, not knowing what to say.
"It's like a pirate had a baby with an angel." Drax says.
You snort at this.
"Wow. This is a real wake-up call for me. Okay. I'm gonna get a Bow-flex. I'm gonna commit. I'm gonna get some dumbbells." Quill says.
"You know you can't eat dumbbells, right?" You say, ending your silence.
Gamora walks up to the man's arm and picks it up.
"It's like his muscles are made of Cotati metal fibers." She says.
"Stop massaging his muscles." Quill says snidely.
Annoyed, Gamora dropped it.
"Wake him up." Quill tells Mantis.
Mantis put her hand on the man's forehead.
"Wake." She says.
The man jumps up and runs to the other side of the ship. You all get into defensive stances.
"Who the hell are you guys?" The man said.
"The Guardians of the Galaxy." Quill said confidently.
You found out the man's name was Thor. He was a god. He told you about Thanos and that he had destroyed the planet Thor was on, and killed his brother in the process. You knew all to well what Thanos was capable of.
Your hand went to the back of your neck, where a scar lay that trailed from the nape of your neck and up your skull.
You felt a hand on your back and standing there was Rocket, looking at you with sorry eyes.
"The entire time I knew Thanos, he only ever had one goal: To bring balance to the Universe by wiping out half of all life. He used to kill people planet by planet, massacre by massacre...." Your sister says, bringing in horrible memories.
"Including my own." Drax says.
"If he gets all six Infinity Stones, he can do it with the snap of his fingers, like this." You say, snapping your fingers.
"You seem to know a great deal about Thanos." Thor says to you and your sister.
"Gamora and Y/n... are the daughters of Thanos." Quill says.
"Your father killed my brother."
Thor stalks aggressively towards the two of you, and Rockets hand grips your shoulder, ready to protect you.
You didn't know why he was acting like this. It's not like he shared your feelings, right?
"Oh, boy. Stepfather. Technically, they hate him as much as you do." Quill says.
Thors face softened.
"Families can be tough. Before my father died, he told me I had a half-sister... that he imprisoned in Hell. Then she returned home, and stabbed me in the eye, so... I had to kill her. It's life, isn't it, I guess. Goes round and round and... I feel your pain." He says, looking at Gamora, then at you.
Quill glares at Thor's hand on Gamora's shoulder, on the verge of full snarl, and moves around her to push between her and Thor.
"And I feel your pain, as well. I mean it's not a competition, but I've been through a lot. My father killed my mother, then I had to kill my father. And that was hard. Probably even harder than having to kill a sister. Plus, I, came out of it with both of my eyes--"
Thor, not paying attention, starts waving the spoon in his hand.
"I need a hammer, not a spoon...." He goes over and attempts to mess with the escape pods, "How do I open this thing? Is there some sort of a four-digit code maybe... maybe a birth date or something...."
"What are you doing?" Quill asks.
"Taking your pod." Thor answers.
"No, you're not!" Quills voice goes several octaves lower, "You'll not, be taking our pod today, sir."
"Quill. Are you making your voice deeper?" Rocket chuckles.
"No." Quill says.
"You are. You're imitating the god-man. It's weird." You say.
"No I'm not." Quill defends.
Mantis gasps.
"He just did it again!" She says.
"This is my voice!"
"Are you mocking me?" Thor asks.
"Are you mocking me?" Quill repeats.
"Stop it. You did it again." Thor inquires.
"He's trying to copy me." Quill says with a smug smile.
"Would you stop doing that? He's doing it first." Thor says.
"Enough! We need to stop Thanos. Which means we need to find out where he's going next." Gamora snapped.
"Knowhere." Thor informed.
Crap.
"He must be going somewhere." Mantis said.
"No. Knowhere? It's a place. We've been there." You say. "It sucks."
Thor then goes through the small freezer.
"Excuse me, that's our food." Quill says.
"Not anymore."
"Asshole." Rocket whispered in your ear.
You let out a quiet laugh.
"Thor..." Gamora started, "why would he go to Knowhere?"
"Because for years, the Reality Stone has been safely stored, there with a man we call the Collector." Thor says.
"If it's with the Collector, then it's not safe. Only an idiot would give that man a stone." Quill says.
"Or a genius." Thor throws back.
"How do you know he's not going for one of the other Stones?" You ask the god.
"There's six stones out there. Thanos already has the Power Stone because he stole it last week, when he decimated Xandar. He stole the Space Stone from me when he destroyed my ship and slaughtered half my people. The Time and Mind Stones are safe on Earth. They're with the Avengers." Thonos says.
"The Avengers?" Quill asks.
"They're Earth's Mightiest Heroes."
"Like Kevin Bacon?" Mantis asks.
The god pauses.
"He may be on the team. I don't know. Haven't been there in a while. As for the Soul Stone, well, no one's ever seen that. No one even knows where it is. Therefore, Thanos can't get it. Therefore, he's going to Knowhere. Hence, he'll be getting the Reality Stone. You're welcome." He replies.
"Then we have to go to Knowhere now." Says Gamora.
"Wrong! Where we have to go, is Nivadellir."
"That's a made up word." Drax says.
"All words are made up." The God defends.
"Hold up, Nidavellir is real? Seriously? I mean, that place is a legend. They make the most powerful, horrific weapons to ever torment the Universe. I would very much like to go there, please."
"The hobo is correct, and clearly the smartest among you." Thor says, making you snort.
"Hobo?"
"Only Eitri the dwarf king can make me the weapon I need." Thor points at Rocket, "I assume you're the captain, sir?"
"You're very perceptive." He answers.
You roll your eyes and walk to the fridge, grabbing a water.
"You seem like a noble leader. Will you join me on my quest to Nidavellir?"
"Lemme just ask the captain. Oh, wait a second, it's me! Yeah, I'll go."
"No you won't." You say, "Quill will."
Rocket shoots you a look. You didn't want him out of your sight, no matter how he felt about you. You liked, no loved, him, and you couldn't bear to lose him.
"Oh." Thor says.
"Yeah, I'm the captain, so I'll go." Quill says.
"Quiet!" Thor hushes, grabbing a backpack.
"That's my backpack." Quill says.
"Go sit down." Rocket says.
You ignore him and push him into a chair.
"Look, this is my ship. And I'm not goin' to..." Quill pauses, "Wait, what kind of weapon are we talking about here?"
"The Thanos killing kind."
"Don't you think that we should all have a weapon like that?" Quill asks.
"No. You simply lack the strength to wield them. Your bodies will crumble as your minds collapse into the madness."
"Is it weird that I wanna do it even more now?" Rocket asks.
"Yes, now shut up." You snap, "If we don't go to Knowhere and Thanos retrieves another stone, he'll be too powerful to stop."
"He already is." Thor says.
"I got it figured out. We got two ships, and a large assortment of morons." Rocket grumbled, "So Quill and Groot will go with the pirate-angel here, and the morons...and me...will go to Knowhere to try and stop Thanos. Cool? Cool."
"So cool."
"For the record... I know that you only wanted to go with him because it's where Thanos isn't." Quill says, walking to the pod
Rocket shoves his hands in his pockets.
"You know, you shouldn't talk that way to your captain, Quill. Go on, Groot. Put that game down, you'll rot your brain." Rocket says, standing.
"I bid you farewell and good luck, morons. Bye."
And the pod flies off with Thor, Quill, and Groot within.
Don't worry, part 2 is on its way!! Squish98 I really hope you like it so far!! I know I loved writing it! 😁✌
