Just like a princess 💧 Loki

Song: Patrick Doyle - La Valse de L'amour

It's my birthday so you'll get a longer update than usual!, maybe even two!, enjoy!

Imagine: you're a princess and you are to be wed to someone else, but you go against your parents by choosing a man of your liking.

Your regular clothes:

Your dress:

'Y/n, I would like for you to meet your future husband, Steven Rogers...' your mother chirps and you just politely smile as you courtesy for him.

He takes your hand in his and kisses your knuckles, he's clearly nervous, he seems like a sweet man, but the truth is, he's not the man you want to marry.

'Why don't we leave you two to talk shall we?, you go and lead him around the palace...' She smiles and you nod while your smile fades away.

Both the parents walk away, busy talking about the huge wedding that is being held in two weeks, about the huge ball tomorrow to show off the bride and groom to be.

Steven offers you his arm and you hesitantly take it. Wrapping yours around it and taking steps forward.

'You don't really want this do you?' He asks.

'If I made have you the impression that I do not want this I am sorry-'

'It's fine because I do not want this either, do not get me wrong, you're every mans dream just...not mine...'

'I beg you pardon?' You ask frowning as you two walk over to the balcony which looks over the whole garden.

'I'll explain....I mean you are a pretty girl and a lovely princess, and believe me when I say you'd make an incredibly Queen, the man who is to stand beside you is the luckiest man in the world but I...I have my heart set on another...'

'Who is she?' You ask with a small smile, relieved he doesn't want to marry either.

'He actually...his name is James...'

'Wait a second, This doesn't just so happens to be the prince James Buchanan Barnes, does it?' You ask with a chuckle.

'I...do you promise to keep this to yourself?'

'Why yes of course...' you laugh as you touch his arm, it makes him smile too, he's relieved you're not some stuck up and spoiled princess.

'Yes, it's James Barnes...'

You squeal out of excitement and he lets out a chuckle.

'You should dance with him tonight!, you should be together!, this is amazing!' You breathe.

'You're relieved I don't want to marry you and now you're excited because I have my eye on someone else?'

'Yes!, because let's be fair, I don't have eyes for you other, well not as my husband but maybe as a friend...and as a friend I would love to make sure you and Prince James get to dance tomorrow...'

'I don't know how...' he admits and your eyes go wide.

'I'll teach you!, come on!' You take him by his hand and drag him down the stairs to the garden.

There's a large plaza in the middle, perfect size to dance on. You make him stand in front of you, still baffled by the fact that he just got dragged down a couple of stairs.

'Okay...you lay your hand on my back...a little lower....perfect...I'll lay my hand on your shoulder...and you take my other hand in yours...' you direct him.

'Okay now you just lead me to where you want to go and I'll follow...' he smiles back.

'One two three...one two three...one two three...' you comment as you lead both of you over the large stone plaza.

He twirls you around a couple of times once he gets the hang of it.

In the meantime Loki walks towards you dancing, he's a bit jealous if he's honest. He wants to be the one your parents chose and of course he doesn't know about what Prince Steven just said.

He clears his throat once he reaches you and you let go of Steven while laughing. 'See that wasn't so hard!' You smile and he nods.

You turn to Loki and you courtesy, 'Prince Loki..' you smirk at him.

He smirks back as he bows for you. You can feel Steven get closer to your ear. 'It's him isn't it?, the man you want to marry?' He mutters and you nod.

'One hundred percent...' you reply to him.

'I think I should go and find my parents...have fun...' he bows again before leaving.

'So is he the man you're supposed to marry?, a man who doesn't even know how to dance?' He stalks towards you while you rolls your eyes at him.

He pulls your arm so that you're standing against him, he wraps an arm around you while he grabs the other and starts leading you.

'He's not interested in marrying me Loki...'

'Well that's an insult...who wouldn't want to marry you?'

'Loki you get jealous every time another man doesn't breathe right next to me and now you're asking yourself who wouldn't want to marry me?'

He doesn't even reply and you smirk at him, 'cat got your tongue?' You comment and before you know it, he has you hovering over the ground. He dips you.

'You think this is funny?, I have to watch my love dance with another, marry to another...one who can never dance as good as I can...'

'Loki Stop...I won't marry him and I'm not going to dance with him either...well maybe later but the first dance, it's not going to be with him...'

'What are you talking about?' He asks lifting you up again.

'I'm going to tell my parents I won't marry him tonight, he will hopefully convince his own parents, my first dance will hopefully be with you...if you'll have me...'

After a long fight and talking on and on about how both you and Steven are against it, your parents finally agreed that the ball would be held as an event instead of an engagement party.

You're just getting ready when a knock on the door interrupt you. You walk up to the door in your very large dress.

'Steven...come on in...and who's that?, well well well, if it isn't Prince Charming himself...' you joke as the pair walks in.

'It's nice to see you again James...' you smile as you bow and he chuckles.

'We wanted to thank you...it means so much to us that you'd fight with your parents...we know it isn't easy talking to them since their very strict...'

'Just a matter of batting my eyes...it's no big deal really...I hope to see you two dance tonight...'

'Oh we will do that all night long I'm afraid...' Steven laughs. 'And we came for something else too...we were hoping to escort you there...and bring you straight to Loki...'

'Just wait outside for a couple more seconds and I'll be ready...' you reply.

With the last finishing touches, you walk out and link arms with both Princes, you get escorted to the door leading to the large ballroom.

'PRINCESS Y/N!' The announcer yells and everyone gets quiet and turns to the door.

The door opens revealing you and the two princes. You try your best to keep a straight face but when you see the surprised look on Loki's face, you can't help but smile.

'Everyone is looking at you...' Steven whispers and you smile even more.

The red dress is huge and full of sparkle, the crown and jewellery matches and it just makes you look like more of a queen rather than a princess.

You look at your parents, your mother still seems a little angry at your decision but your father on the other hand has the biggest grin on his face.

'You go and have fun...don't worry about us...' James whispers.

You courtesy before walking to Loki as he offers his hand. You gladly take it and he wraps his arm around you just like this afternoon.

'You look positively radiant my love...you look like a true queen...'

'Well then Loki, I'm happy to inform you that the position of King is still available for you...'

'Then allow me to ask this....' the music starts and you sway through the large room with everyone staring at you.

'Will you marry me?' He asks and right at that time he lifts you up and spins you above his head before bringing you down again and you gasp.

'I don't think you'd even have to ask me but yes, I would love to marry you...'

He pulls you close before placing his lips on yours, the crowd results in applause and whistles and you smile into the kiss.

Life isn't always a fairytale, unless you make it one.
