It was always a heart-warming feeling when your boyfriend was so proud to introduce you to people.

And seeing how excited Bucky always was when he introduced you to people just made you smile.

However, with that said, apart from Bucky's best friend, you were yet to meet the rest of his work colleagues.

The coincidence between him and Barton had not gone unnoticed by Bucky – Barton had a family of his own that he'd kept away from the world of the Avengers and Bucky had you.

When Bucky found Steve again, he'd recovered slightly beforehand and he'd found you in the process.

And as soon as Steve suggested Bucky joining the ranks and he had agreed, Bucky had tried his very hardest to make sure that you would be protected.

Bucky's idea of protection meant, eerily similar to Barton's situation, you being in a secluded house in a little town away from everything where you could work from home and do what you wanted but you were far enough away from. The avengers that you couldn't even be connected.

It hurt slightly that Bucky went to such lengths to keep you hidden away from that side of his life, especially when you knew of his past but you also understood his reasoning – and you supposed that the prideful look on his face whenever he did introduce you to anyone made it a little better.

When the avengers had been moaning about wanting a quiet weekend away, vowing to leave Maria in charge and Bucky had caved knowing the place he owned was conveniently big enough for them all to stay.

And that's how you ended up sat outside on your swing seat and you saw three cars all coming up your driveway as well as you boyfriend leading on his motorbike.

You lifted your hand in a wave and watched as the cars came to a stop near the house whilst Bucky dismounted his bike.

He walked towards you and threw his helmet to you making you laugh as you caught it.

"And what am I supposed to do with this Barnes?" you questioned, standing up to hug him.

He chuckled, wrapping his arms around your waist to bring you up to eye level. "I brought some friends home."

"So, I see," you commented, looking over your boyfriend's shoulder to see his friends/colleagues leant against their cars seeming rather confused. "I suppose introductions are in order."

Bucky nodded and let you down, taking his helmet back in one hand and wrapping his metal arm around your shoulder.

Steve gave you a fond smile as you approached with his best friend. "Nice to see you again Rogers," you greeted causing him to laugh.

"You too Mrs Barnes," he joked back with a wink.

You laughed as you leant into Bucky whilst the rest of the crowd continued to look on in confusion. "Maybe one day Rogers," you confirmed. "Only if you promise to stand by this idiot's side."

Bucky joined in with the laughter but spoke up to interrupt the two of you joking around. "This is Y/N," he introduced you, so you waved at everyone who was staring at you.

"It's nice to meet you all," you greeted with a smile. "Would anyone like anything to drink?"

They all nodded despite still seeming confused and Steve offered to help you, so he headed inside with you whilst Bucky was left with everyone else.

"She's your girl?" Tony spoke up, nodding towards where you'd headed.

Bucky nodded with a smile. "That's my girl."

"And she's been with you for how long?" Sam asked, smiling slightly.

"About two years now, we met a few months before you and Steve found me," he explained. "She did a lot for me back then even though I was convinced I wasn't worth it."

Natasha smiled as did Wanda and the latter stepped forward to pat Bucky gently on the arm. "But she is worth it for you, yes?"

Bucky chucked but nodded, nonetheless. "I haven't got a ring stashed away for nothing."
