Your breathing is shallow and every breath sends branches of pain through your whole body. An inch to the right and the bullet would have pierced your heart. Clint sits near, trying to stop the bleeding. His hands are shaking from fear. A voice is yelling through the radio but everything seems so distant. Your vision turns blurry. Clint is yelling but you can't quite make out what he is saying. You slowly drift into unconsciousness.

"Will (y/n) be okay," Pietro asks the doctor. His eyes are red and puffy from crying and lack of sleep, "I don't know what I would do without her."

"Well, her lung was nicked, but her heart is intact. She should be okay, but she needs to rest." He answered, glancing down at his clipboard.

"Can I stay with her, doctor?" He asks.

"So long as you stay quiet and try not to wake her," he answers, exiting the room.

Pietro sits down by your bed and takes your hand. He watches as your chest rises and falls steadily. He lays his head on the bed and quickly falls asleep.

Little does he know, you had been awake the whole time. You open your eyes when you hear the snoring, and look down at Pietro. Even though he looks tired and slightly disheveled, he still looks peaceful as he sleeps.

You lightly squeeze his hand.

"Pietro, You okay?" You ask, barely above a whisper.

He stirs awake at the sound of your voice, "(Y/n), how are you? Why are you asking how I am? You are the one who was shot."

He speeds through his sentences. Not stopping for any breaths. His words all blur together, making it nearly impossible for you to make out what he's saying.

"Calm down, speedy." You chuckle, causing a wave of pain through your chest. You visibly wince causing Pietro to squeeze your hand tightly.

"I'll be fine, Pietro. As long as I have you here, I'll be fine." You assure him as you lay back and drift to sleep.

"And I will always be here," he answers, laying his head back down.
