The forest erupted with light as the missile came through the trees. Quickly, Bucky ran and grabbed you, pulling you to safety.

"Saved ya, (Y/N)," he chuckled, pulling you closer to himself.

"Thats nice, Buckaroo, but I've saved you plenty of times. Remember that time in Russia when you..." you said, but Bucky cut you off.

"Oh, I know," he said, letting out a sigh, " but you really outta be more careful around missiles."

The forest was now filled with the sounds of gunfire. Hydra was gaining on you. Their footsteps echoed all around.

"We'd better get going, (y/n)," Bucky said, suddenly aware of the danger. He released you from his hold and took your hand.

You began running through the trees, your hand in his. But you were stopped in your tracks as you saw a Hydra sniper in a nearby tree. Before you could even process it, he shot at Bucky.

Time seemed to slow down as you watched that bullet head for him.

Without a single thought, you leapt in front of him. The bullet entered your chest cavity and you collapsed to the ground. Bucky pulled out a pistol and shot the sniper. He then fell at your side, cradling you in his arms.

"Saved ya," you said with a painful smile. You begin coughing, spurting up a little blood.

(Y/n), why would you do that? You'll be alright. We'll get you back." He says in one breath, his words getting caught in his throat.

"Bucky," you say with a shaky breath, "Im not gonna make it. You need to get outta here before Hydra finds you. "

"Dont say that. I can't leave you. Please, you can't leave me." He pleaded through his tears.

"Bucky, there's something you need to know," You say, gasping for air, " I -I love y-you."

Your eyes fall shut and your chest stops rising.

"I love you, too." Bucky says, holding back sobs.
