Summary: it's reader's birthday but she hates it due to her past so her best friend decided to lift her up by taking her out to a marvel convention. Your friend won a photo op with Tom Hiddleston so you wait on the side, suddenly something happens...

"I don't want to go anywhere can't you just let me wallow in vanilla frosting for today please!?" You muffle as your face is planted in Maria's hand whilst she holds your frosting up in the air with the other hand. You try to reach for it but was uneventful as your best friend had the arms like a giraffe.

"Because doll we are going to celebrate your birthday today and you are going to get your marvelous ass up and come with me to a convention" Maria smirks as she shakes your frosting in their thieving hand.

You huff in defeat and the frosting is returned to your waiting hands, only you try to run to your room but Maria tripped you with her leg causing you to fall face first into the frosting.

"OW!!!!!"

"Don't run from me and nobody gets hurt"  she says as she blows on her nails as if she just painted them.

"You're such an ass" you pull your face from the frosting as it covers your nose and cheeks. The smell of vanilla invading your nose makes you want to stay home all the more but the warden is making you leave.

"You love me, now get up and get dolled up cause I am getting you out of your shell" you roll your eyes and walk towards your rather large room.

You then look through your closet and look at the few dresses you have. One that was black with long lace sleeves and roses on them that hugged your curves rather nicely, another that was orange with blue flower prints on it and blue lacy patterns on the end of it, an off the shoulder tan dress with purple flowers which was your all time favorite, and finally your red with white dots pin up dress.

"Hmm what to choose.." Finally you decided on your favorite to wear, added some light makeup and red lipstick then off you went to show Maria.

Maria decided to wear her I'm bad for Loki t-shirt and dark jeans but gasped when she saw you in your tan flowered dress.

"Whoo damn girl you are gorgeous! Give me a twirl" she grabs a hold of your hand and twirls you around. Your dress flows like a flower as it blooms alive and you felt like you were as pretty as one.

"Oh shush it Maria can we go now?" You blush like a red crayon. Maria smiles genuinely and pulls you by the hand.

"Fine fine lets go" You both hop onto the train and head towards the convention that's in the city. After a while of train travel, Upon arriving you see many dressed as marvel characters, the smell of food trucks wafting your senses making your stomach talk to you.

"You hungry doll?"

"Yeah but I can wait a while longer.." you were self conscious about your eating habits in front of anyone but Maria. She's been your best friend since you were kids and has always been by your side through thick and thin, even didn't disown you after you told her you'd never seen any marvel films. You loved her like a sister.

After both of you were in line to get your tickets and head on inside the convention you saw so many wonders for your first convention. You saw posters of the marvel movies, cosplayers of many shapes and sizes, so many booths covered by many fans so you couldn't see much of what's being sold. But you were so astonished by everything you saw you didn't even hear Maria calling your name.

"(Y/n)!!"

"Y-Yeah?"

"Come on in line with me to meet Tom Hiddleston!"

The line was so long you both ended up being the last in line by the time you got to find the photo op. Wait time felt like years before you finally got closer to the gold mine, you waited a while longer until you heard Maria laugh.

"What?"

"What would you say if I gave Tom Hiddleston your number??" You rolled your eyes and laughed.

"I'd say good luck with that. I'm sure many fans have tried that already"

"Oh come on (y/n) I'm sure he would like to take you out and find out what a great person you are"

"More like find the exit"

You suddenly felt a smack on your bottom so hard you couldn't scream, just held onto it for dear life as you fell on your knees as if you were melting like the wicked witch of the west.

"Y-you..little..shit" you felt a burning sensation where your ass once was.

"That's what you get for downgrading yourself"

"I don't have an ass anymore I now have a pancake!" You grunt in a tone only she could hear.

"Then Tom can have a piece of that cake"

"Oh dear pizza just shut up"

"Oh come on haven't you ever wanted to go on a date with him?"

"The only movie I've ever seen him in is Crimson Peak, but I did love the dance scene he did with Edith in the movie. I dream about learning to do that if I'm being honest" Maria smirks as she nudges your elbow.

You turn red at the confession but it was the truth, you found that scene so entrancing that you would watch the scene so carefully it made you feel as if you were the one dancing in that world. After the back and forth bantering, Maria got more and more excited about the photo op. You decided to take your leave and read the rest of your book you brought with you for this part of the day.

"Hey Maria im gonna go read, please don't faint when you meet him I don't want to have to carry your craziness out and about" you wink as Maria sticks her tongue and middle finger at you while walking to the end where everyone walked away after meeting Tom.

"Hi Tom! I think you are super awesome and it's an honor to meet you" you hear Maria gush. You smile at her enthusiasm while you read more.

For what felt like hours you started to worry about why Maria hasn't came out yet. Everyone else has passed by you but her.

Where on earth is she? She should be out here by now

"(Y/n)!" To you, Maria sounded like she was somewhere far away so you looked in the opposite direction than where she was suppose to be doing the photo op.

Your hearing was bad due to an accident when you were a kid, your sister thought it was funny to blast the music you were listening to and it damaged your hearing. Now you can't hear very well out of one ear ever since then, but you try to keep your hearing aid with you at all times. Today you were able to hear most of what you felt you needed to without the hearing aid so far, so you didn't bother to put it on.

After searching in the crowd for Maria, you heard her call for you again but you couldn't see her at all. Finally you look in the other direction and you see Maria is waving for you to come over while she stands next to someone. Unsure as to why she was calling you over, you complied and walked towards them with a confused look on your face. Tom on the other hand had an expression when he saw you, one you've never seen before.

"Yes?"

"(Y/n) I want you to meet Tom. Tom this is (y/n)"

"Hello (y/n) it's lovely to meet you" he smiles and takes a hold of your hand and kisses it. The display didn't seem to have any effect on you when his lips touched your hand, you just felt awkward not knowing why he did that.

" it's..lovely to meet you as well" you stare at Maria in confusion as to why or even how she got to talk to Tom. The awkward silence only made the conversation continue ever more.

"So your friend has told me that you have never seen any marvel movies if I'm not mistaken?" Tom smiles as he looks straight at you as he speaks. You nod and nervously scratch the back of your neck trying to look away.

What the hell am I suppose to say?? Ugh! This is why I get so awkward..

But then again you could totally flirt with him and get his number

You close your eyes and pinch the bridge of your nose at your little voice talking. This made Maria smack you on your arm.

"Ay dios Pizza! What on earth was that for?" You rub your arm while you glare at Maria. Tom chuckles at how you and Maria are.

"Get out of your shell" she whispers as she glares back.

" y-yes, it's true I haven't seen any marvel films..b-but that doesn't mean I don't like you as an actor or anything!" You wave your hand in front of yourself as you nervously ramble.

"Well that's something new I never heard of" he laughs.

"Well I-I have seen Crimson Peak! And I think you were pretty alluring and mesmerizing" you gush at remembering the movie. His smile got even more wider, if that were ever possible as he saw you try to converse more with him.

"Well I'm honored of your high opinion of me, I must say you look lovely today."

You look down at your flower dress and chuckle at his compliment. You felt pretty in the dress but still didn't really believe when others complimented you.

"Thank you, so how is your day so far?"

"It just got better" he smiles sincerely. Maria stares at the two of you and concocts a plan to get you two to talk more.

"Hey Tom, are you doing anything after this?" Maria asks causing the conversation to stop between you and Tom.

"Just a panel and a few more errands within the convention, why?"

"Well you see I have to um..I have to get a specific sandwich I've been hungry for and was hoping you could show (y/n) around whilst I'm gone" you stare at her in confusion. Tom knows what Maria is up to and smiles.

"But Maria I can go wi-"

"Shhhhh no! I'm fine you just come with me as we go around the convention some more and when Tom is free I'll get my sandwich" she smiled the most mischievous smile ever before. You're still unnoticed by her plans and just shrugs.

"Well then I'll see you in a couple of hours (y/n)?" Tom smiles excitedly. You just blush as you realize you're gonna be along with him later.

"S-sure! See you then."

"Splendid, I'll meet you at (favorite store) and we can be on our way for something o eat if you'd like?"

"That's fine I'm not really all that hungry" you were self conscious about eating in front of him. But Tom wasn't gonna let you.

"Alright ladies it was a delight to have met you" He shakes Maria's hand and then your own, only he didn't let go for a moment. Electricity hit him when he touched your hand longer.

You and Maria walk around looking at Avengers collections, comic books, fanart, figurines, and souvenirs for Maria to have. Suddenly you notice a green rose hair piece, it was beautiful with gold glitter on the ends of the petals and a letter L underneath for what you assumed was Loki. You've never seen anything quite like it for a hair piece. The price was out of your reach so you sigh and place it back where it once was and went about looking around.

-few hours later-

"Hey Maria What kind of a sandwich are you looking for exactly?"

"What?"

"The sandwich you're leaving me for?" You grew suspicious, Maria and you were best friends because of your love for food, it wasn't like her to forget.

"Ohh right y-yeah it's a uh..a Thor sandwich!" You raise your eyebrow at her.

"Honest it is! It has a lightning strike on the meat of the sandwich, then they draw his hammer on the top of the bread" she was nervous as she tried to keep you from figuring her out.

"Where's it at?"

"Why?"

"Because I don't believe your lying ass"

"Ohhh shush doll, just go spend your date with Tom and I shall get my sandwich"

"It's not a date!" You blush.

"It will be once my mission is complete" Maria whispers. You didn't hear her though.

You were in for a Change of pace..
