Thanks to that carelessness, the mobster shot Spider-Man where when he realized he tried to protect himself but the attack reached him anyway.

Spider-Man flew away and fell to the ground abruptly. He got up feeling somewhat strange and when he noticed his hand he noticed how it was glowing while it was slowly disappearing.

This scared him so when he saw his whole body he noticed that it was still shining while it slowly disappeared.
