Milly:
Of course. I like coffee and pastries. And this is one of the things I made sure to learn when I moved out of the house. Ollie taught me. They own chains of cafes so we used to work there in our free time back in college.

Kairos:
You worked before?

Milly:
Oo naman. Did you think I was a spoiled rich girl who didn't know how to pull her own weight?

Kairos:
I didn't say that.
Why did you have to work? What for?

Milly:
Back in college, I was just starting out with my music career. Though there are brand partnerships and gigs, I didn't really know if it was sustainable. So when Ollie offered to work with him at their cafe, I grabbed the chance. I wanted to earn more kasi so I can support my kids without using my parents' money. It's not a lot of money but it was hard earned.
I worked there for two years din.

Kairos:
You really experienced a lot with him, huh.

Milly:
Ollie, yeah. He's my constant. Everybody else either left, are too far or too busy. But he was constant. I lucked out when I met him.
But babe, don't let Ollie bother you. I love him but we were never like this. It's purely platonic. He's like a brother to me.

Kairos:
I know. I just find it amazing how you absolutely trust him. Sabi nga ni Spiro, kung magseselos ako, di daw dapat sa kanya. Kay Ollie. Dahil iba kayo. Iba ka sa kanya.

Milly:
Really, he said that? Why would he say that? 😒

Kairos:
He was joking. Don't be upset with him.

Milly:

And wow ha, you're defending him na??? Are you friends na? 😂

But about Ollie, syempre. I've known him for years. I've already seen how he is as a person. He's like you. Too clear cut with your own feelings. You don't bother mincing words and you mean what you say. People like you can never go behind anyone's backs to scheme and conspire. I like people like you. Most friends I had in college were superficial. They liked me but they talked behind my back because of the lifestyle I chose to have.

Gave me lots of grief and heartbreaks so I'm really grateful to have Ollie back then. Eventually, I met Ate Dani and the others so that helped too.

It's common kasi e, when you have a big name, yung frail and false friendships. It doesn't help na my family's also quite out there in the society. And I mean my mom's family na laging nasa pageants.
So you know, bata pa lang ako, real friends were harder to come by.

Kaya when I find the real gems, or people I know I can trust, I treasure them a lot. And that's what Ollie is to me. Someone I know who will never betray me.

Sometimes, I wish he were my real family. I have a lot but it also feels like I don't have one kasi most days wala naman sila. You get what I mean?

Kairos:
