KITCHEN - EVENING, 11:05 PM

Milly's getting apples out of the refrigerator when he comes in. Kai immediately takes her into his arms. Milly wraps her arms around him and presses her cheek against his chest.

MILLY
Hi, boyfriend.

Kai breathes in and lets out a deep, meaningful sigh as he tightens his hold around her.

KAI
Anong oras na, 'di ka pa rin nagpapahinga.

MILLY
You're such a worrywart. Sanay naman ako sa long drives.

KAI
Sakitin ka, Milly. Pagod ka na, uminom ka pa talaga.

MILLY
Just a bit lang naman. And I'm not really that sickly. Just prone to migraines and vertigo.

KAI
Gano'n din 'yon. Nagpaliwanag ka pa.

MILLY
(laughs)
Pinagagalitan mo na naman ako.

KAI
Matigas kasi ang ulo mo.

MILLY
But you love me for that, babe.

Kai doesn't answer and tightens his embrace even more. Milly laughs again.

MILLY
Kai, I missed you too but you're crushing me.

Kai loosens his arms right away and checks her face.

KAI
Nasaktan kita?

MILLY
When have you ever?

Milly grabs his face and brushes her lips against his softly. Kai pushes her toward the island, lifts her up, and places her on the kitchen island, deepening the kiss.

Milly pulls away.

MILLY
Wait, wait, babe. We'll end up in bed at this rate.
(laughs)
I wanna talk first.

KAI
What do you want to talk about?

MILLY
You. Your day. What did you do kanina?
Everything. I wanna know.

Did you miss me?

KAI
May duda ka pa ba ro'n?

MILLY
Wala naman. I just like hearing you say it.
I ordered our dinner na. Hope you don't mind. It's from a restau you trust naman.

KAI
No need to keep worrying about my food selection. If you trust a place, then I trust them. 'Wag mo nang alalahanin kung ano man mga maayos sa 'kin. Eat what you want, where you want.

MILLY
You trust me that much?

KAI
Yes, so don't limit yourself anymore.
Anong binili mo?

MILLY
Just pastas, since you like that. And some chicken.

KAI
Alright. I'll prepare your snacks while we're waiting for that.

Kai sees the apples she placed on the table.

KAI
Get some rest. Hintayin mo na lang ako doon.

MILLY
Can't I help?

KAI
Pagod ka na, Milly. Kahit 'di mo pa sabihin, alam ko. Sige na, doon mo na ko hintayin. Go play or take a nap. Ako na kukuha ng binili mo.

MILLY
I was tired. Pero nawala na now.

KAI
Kulit talaga.
Help me next time. Magpahinga ka ro'n.
I'll call you when it's ready.

MILLY
(grinning)
My overly protective and domestic boyfriend. So husband material talaga, ha.

Kai smirks.

KAI
Pakakasalan mo na?
Aren't you moving too fast?
Wala namang kaso sa 'kin.

Milly shakes her head, a wistful smile on her face.

MILLY
If only.
But you deserve better.

Kai doesn't respond, but his brows furrow into a frown as he studies her face. His fingers are tracing lazy circles around her thigh.

Milly shakes off the somber drop of the air and grabs the fabric of his shirt.

MILLY
Can you prep those later?
Let's stay like this muna. I wanna kiss you some more. Or do you wanna rest na? You just got home and-

Kai cuts her off with a second kiss.

KAI
Too talkative.

Milly smiles at the sudden interruption. Kai captures her mouth into another slow, soft kiss.

Milly nuzzles his cheek when they pull away.

MILLY
Gods, you're here naman na. I wonder why I'm still so nervous?

KAI
What do you mean you're nervous?

Milly places a strand of her hair behind her ear.

MILLY
Kanina kasi, when I went here without your permission... I was so full of nerves.
I was thinking if I was still even allowed to come here. I was so nervous going back. I thought my things would be gone. Coz of... you know... the last time I was here wasn't really good?

I thought it's wrong to come back here without you.

Kai frowns and tilts her chin up with his thumb to level their gazes.

KAI
Milly.
Wala naman nagbago. Sa 'yo pa rin 'to. Sa 'tin pa rin 'to.

MILLY
I saw nga.
You didn't move my things. Wala kang ginalaw in my room.
Why?

KAI
Because it wasn't over for me.
I was hoping you'd come back.

Milly embraces him and rests her head against his shoulder.

MILLY
I'm glad you didn't, babe. I felt so relieved seeing my things are still here.

KAI
'Wag ka na umalis ulit.
Wala naman akong balak makipaghiwalay pa sa 'yo pero sa susunod, kung sakaling may 'di tayo pagkakaunawaan, ako ang aalis. Hindi ikaw.

MILLY
