Milly:
You home?

Kairos:
Kararating lang.

Milly:
Aight. Get some sleep na 😘 Told you we should've just camped in there. Ayos lang naman if you slept in the room. I would've waited for you to wake up. I was planning to write all night anyway.

Kairos:
You want me to sleep in your room while you stay outside? All because you refuse to sleep beside someone else?
I'm not that inconsiderate.

Milly:
Kaya you insisted to drive back na lang? You looked so tired. Di ka naman mahilig sa coffee but you consumed two cups para lang makapag-drive.

Kairos:
I won't let you stay up because of me. Matulog ka na. Inaantok ka na rin kanina pa.

Milly:
Haha. I'm not sleepy na. The coffee kicked in after all. You sleep. Wag mo na ko sabayan.

Kairos:
Mamaya na.

Milly:
Nawala din antok mo no? Haha told you the coffee's strong.
Do you wanna talk some more? Paantok?

Kairos:
If you just agreed to share the room with me, we both would be sleeping by now.

Milly:
Haha rules :p
How's my house? Was it okay?

Kairos:
I should thank you.
I know it was difficult bringing me to your own personal space.

Milly:
Nah. I was happy to bring you there. I knew you'd appreciate it as much as I did.

Kairos:
Sino pa dinala mo don?

Milly:
Ikaw pa lang. No one knows about that house, except me.

Kairos:
You made it? Everything?

Milly:
That room? Yes.
The decors? Yes din. I bought everything you saw there. The house was given to me by my tita tho. It used to be hers but she got married and she went on to buy new properties na rin. I used to go there everytime I get frustrated or sad or just about anything. I don't always have people to talk to. And I'm not good at expressing then. When I need a hug, I go there.

Kairos:
Ollie doesn't know about it?

Milly:
No haha Ollie will be so worried if he finds out I have it. Lalo na if he sees what I do there 🤣

Kairos:
I'm sure. Puro babasagin ang mga binabato mo. You could get hurt.

Milly:
Knew you'd nag me too :p
Well, it's more cathartic that way kasi. It helped you naman di ba?
You were hesitant at first but after you got the hang of it, it helps naman, right?

Kairos:
Yeah. But can I suggest an alternative?
I don't really like breaking things.

Milly:
Sure, what's your suggestion?

Kairos:
Let's use paint balloons. It's safer.

Milly:
Hmm. That could work. But that would make the room really messy haha. At least sa glasswares, it's easier to sweep everything out.

Kairos:
That's the point. You love art. You'll appreciate painted walls than broken glasses.

Milly:
True. I'm just too lazy to make the balloons myself 😂

Kairos:
I can do it.

Milly:
Alrighty then. I'll give you keys to the house 😘 Do what you want. You can drop by anytime you want. It's yours now.

Kairos:
Wala ka ba nakakausap? Bakit kinailangan mo nang ganito? Marami ka naman kaibigan.

Milly:
Everyone has their own lives kasi. I don't wanna be a burden no.

Kairos:
What about your roommates? Yung Ran at Neve. Bakit di sila?

Milly:
I don't always see Ran and Neve back in college kasi. Magkakalayo kami and I didn't know them in highschool either.
Ayoko din naman to call them lang just because I had problems. Same w Ollie.
Also, now na lang naman meron.
In high school, I didn't have a lot of real friends. Meron man but they're all superficial. They ended up backstabbing me in the end. I made that house when I first found out my dad was keeping a second family, so HS pa. I couldn't tell anyone so I looked for another way to vent.

Kairos:
So that's why. I'm understanding you more and more now.
You're too expressive, and you're often surrounded by friends, I thought you had a lot of people you can talk to. Turns out we're not so different.

Milly:
Haha, yeah, I do give out that impression. My life can be misleading nga sa outsiders.
What about you? Do you have anyone you can share things with?

Kairos:
I used to.

Milly:
Oh. Who?

Kairos:
My cousin. Si Kuya Rigel.

Milly:
Used to... so not anymore?
What happened?

Kairos:
It was my fault. Ako ang umiwas.

Milly:
I'm sure you have your reasons too.

Kairos:
I do.
My mom kept pitting us since I was young. It started to become awkward. Later on he became a symbol of that pressure. Someone I need to surpass but could never do.

Milly:
... like me and my mom.
People used to call me the next child prodigy after her. But there's no way I can surpass Madame Joyce Elisse in her turf. I wanted to be with her. Not surpass her.
That had always been the dream.

Kairos:
Why did you give up the dream?

Milly:
Remember when I told you she let me live a lie? That's one of the many reasons why. I don't like how they lied to me. Alam ko na that Dad had a second family. I caught him by accident. But I had no idea they had an open marriage though. Naturally, I thought he was cheating.

Before that, I thought we had a perfect family kahit na Mom was always busy w her tours. They made it seem like a fairytale life kasi.
So I was so devastated when I discovered he was having an affair. And with children pa. Siblings I didn't know about.

What's weirder is...
Mom and Dad stayed married and let me have a complete family until I was ready for college. They pretended we were perfect despite their constant absence. All that time, they didn't know I knew about his second family high school pa lang. I was a coward then. I couldn't confront them.

I kept sending my mom hints about Dad's affair. Imagine my confusion because she brushed them off each time. Eventually, when they decided to divorce, that's when I told them that I knew. That's also when they explained to me. That it was Mom's idea all along.

I mean I knew Dad was dissatisfied because she was never around. But I didn't know it was her idea to send him off to another family.
They left me as soon as I reached the legal age.
I let them go. For their happiness na rin. And for my sibs. My lola was the only one I clung to since I found out. But she passed away before I entered college.

Kairos:
Is that also the time you quit playing the piano?

Milly:
Yup. That's also the start of my horrible insomnia.

Kairos:
Milly.
You should know.
You didn't deserve to live through that.

Milly:
But I did. It is what it is. Ikaw din naman. You don't deserve what you're going through. Why is your mom pitting you against your cousin anyway?

Kairos:
She wants me to join the family business. She thinks it's the only way I can prove my worth or else they'll kick us out. Kuya is good. She thinks he's competition.
I don't know why she thinks her family is out to get us. They're the nicest people I've ever met. Nicer than my dad's. It doesn't make sense to me either.

Milly:
Tapos your dad is pressuring you to succeed him pa.
Families are so difficult to understand no? I wish they were nicer to us.

Kairos:
Me too.
Milly.

Milly:
Hm?

Kairos:
Inaantok ka na ba?

Milly:
No pa naman.

Kairos:
I'll call. Let's talk until we fall asleep.

Milly:
That's a new way of 'sleeping together'
But okay :)
Call me. Let's sleep together 😘
