Chapter Thirty Three
Ellie's POV
My students managed to make it through finals showing leaps and bounds of progress from when they first began. I gave them all passing grades for whatever my class was even supposed to be and even submitted a few recommendations for some to transfer to the hero course, Shinso among them.
At 8 weeks pregnant, everything was making me sick to my stomach. According to the Ellie tracker, the baby was the size of a raspberry. After finishing up with my students, I decided to observe Aizawa's class during their finals. I made it to the observation room and was surprised to find some of the students from class 1A inside watching their peers.
"Ellie!" Toru cheered causing the other students in the room to turn curiously.
I reached out to pat her on the head, "Hey, Invisible One."
"What are you doing here?" She asked cheerfully as some of the other students looked to me warily.
"I thought I'd see what you all were doing for your practical exams." I shrugged as I looked to the monitor to see two boys one with spiky red hair and the other with dark brown hair wearing a horribly ugly yellow bodysuit facing off against Cementoss.
"What did your students have to do for their exams?" Ojiro asked me curiously.
"One on one combat with me." I shrugged. I watched as each student paled considerably. "What?!"
"Are they all okay?" Toru asked worried.
"Of course, they are, I wasn't trying to hurt anyone." I snapped.
Toru giggled and looped her arm with mine pulling me off to the side earning a few weird looks from the other students and a small smile from Recovery Girl who was here to watch the matches incase she needed to hop in and heal someone quickly.
"We studied together and we're going to the movies this weekend." Toru whisper squealed causing me to roll my eyes.
"Glad to hear it, are you done stalking him?" I mused.
I could sense her nodding her head and chuckled, "Invisible one, I think I'm the only one that realizes you're nodding; when speaking to other people you should probably answer yes or no." I pointed causing her to giggle.
"Oh right. I always forget." She hugged me, "Thanks Ellie."
I sighed and lightly pat her on the head, "I didn't do anything. There. There. Stop smothering me please."
Toru released me with a giggle before joining her friends to watch the exam as I made my way over to Midoriya who looked somewhat panicked and worried. His body was tense and he was ringing his hands together nervously.
"What's up with you, brat?" I sighed as I draped my arm across his shoulders, though it was a bit of a struggle he'd gotten taller since I'd first met him.
"Kacchan and I are a team, we're up against All Might for the final." He sounded nervous but seemed to relax a little as I put my arm around him.
"Oh, the anger management hedgehog with the bad manners?" I mused. Glancing around the room I didn't see the ill-mannered blonde anywhere.
All of the students in the room looked to me curiously trying to figure out what I'd said and who I was referring to before bursting into a fit of laughter.
"It's rather fitting." The pink skinned alien like girl giggled.
"So, what are you worried about?" I asked Midoriya with a frown.
"Well, he doesn't seem to want to talk to me so we can come up with a plan of action, and we're up against All Might, we could never defeat him in combat our only chance to pass is going to be to run away and escape the combat arena and even that's going to be difficult if we don't work together." Midoriya mumbled and began muttering a bunch of gibberish about possible plans and then countering all of his plans with how All Might could stop them.
"Well I could give you several villainous cheap shots you could use that would ensure your victory." I smirked, "Pretty sure if you just ask him what size the baby is, he'll talk for like an hour nonstop, you could easily get away."
"Baby?" Midoriya blinked a few times before staring at me in awe, "You're pregnant?!"
"What?! You mean the big oaf didn't announce it to the whole damn school yet?!" I gaped.
Midoriya hugged me before releasing me abruptly, "Ah! Sorry! Should you be working?!"
I thunked him over the back of the head, "Idiot. Take a fucking health class, I'm not dying! Jeez, you're just as bad as my idiot husband."
Midoriya grinned, "Congratulations, Ellie!"
Toru nearly tackled me with a squeal and a few other students swarmed me to offer me their congratulations and hugs.
"Okay! Enough! No more hugs, everyone back away!" I snapped and the students all laughed not seeming the least bit threatened as a gentle gust of wind kept them all at bay.
Before long each of the students began to dwindle out of the observation room, soon it was just me, Midoriya and Recovery Girl. Midoriya was smiling like an idiot, just like Toshinori. I couldn't help but smile, his joy was just as infectious as Toshinori's.
"I'm really happy for you and All Might." Midoriya beamed. "I think you two will be great parents."
I reached up to ruffle his unruly dark green hair, "Thanks brat." It was almost time for his exam, "I know you won't resort to using the distraction I gave you to your advantage because you're too pure for such a dirty trick, but if you find yourself in trouble, you can tell that big oaf if he hurts you, he has to answer to me."
"Thanks, Ellie." Midoriya beamed and hugged me tight before skipping off to run to his exam site.
Recovery Girl looked over at me with a smile, "You've always had a soft spot for kids." She reached over and pat the chair beside her.
Reluctantly I went to join her. "What do you mean?"
"Even when you were a villain, you always got yourself into a lot of trouble helping kids out of tough spots."
"How do you know that?" I asked her curiously.
"Toshinori brought you to me several times, begging me to fix you up. At first, I was a little worried because I'd only known what I'd heard on the news about you but I knew you couldn't be bad if Toshinori was vouching for you. I think the boy is right, you'll be a great mother." Recovery Girl gently pat me on the leg.
"I always wondered how he seemed to be able to fix me up so well...I should have known, that's why he'd always suggest I go see you if I felt even remotely under the weather, you already knew our secret...though I guess its not much of a secret now." I sighed.
"I don't think you need to try to keep it a secret dearie. Anyone who takes the time to get to know you can see you might be rough around the edges, but you're very caring and kind. And anyone who sees you and Toshinori together can easily see how much you two love one another." She gave my leg a reassuring squeeze before turning her attention back to the monitor.
