Chapter Forty Five

Ellie's POV

After a week of hell, being confined to my bedroom, we went back to see my doctor who cleared me to return to life as normal though cautioned me against doing anything too stressful. I was able to return to work. Upon my return it seemed Hizashi and Shota were determined to do as much for me as possible during the morning classes.

The following weekend, after I was cleared by my doctor, I took Shinso to his Hero License Exam. I managed to get him a testing date the weekend before the other first years so I could also attend their exam too. The Provisional Hero License Exam was only held two months out of the year.

Due to the nature of his quirk he had no trouble talking his way out of combat and swaying people playing the role of villain to turn themselves in. He passed and nearly tackled me with a hug after the exam was over. Thanks to my insane hormones at twenty-two weeks pregnant, I accepted his hug while simultaneously bursting into tears.

Shinso chuckled, "Sensei, are you alright?"

"Shut up, it's the baby's fault." I grumbled as I released him from my hold and attempted to wipe away my tears.

Shinso grinned at this he was overjoyed now that he had his license. "Now, what?"

"Like long term or just for today?" I mused.

"Both."

"Taser Baby is hungry and I guess I could treat you to a celebratory lunch."

Shinso face palmed, "Did you just call your child Taser Baby?"

I smiled, "where to?" I attempted to drape my arm across his shoulders in a mentor like fashion but he was far too tall.

He watched me struggle for a moment amused by my efforts and petite size before chuckling and putting his arm around my shoulders. "It's amusing to watch you struggle, half-pint sensei." He teased me, his indigo eyes dancing with laughter.

"Sh-shut up!" I glowered, "I'm not a half-pint, you're freakishly tall!"

"I'm not that tall." He snickered, "you're just a shrimp."

"Why do I bother helping you at all?" I grumbled bitterly as I sighed and let him steer me away.

"I'm not sure...but I'm grateful you gave me a chance, I can really become a hero now, thanks to you."

"No! No mushy things!" I whined as tears welled in my eyes again.

We arrived at a hero themed restaurant and I looked to Shinso curiously. I'd always had a suspicion he was a closet hero fanboy, this was jut proving my point. He paused as if asking for permission first. I rolled my eyes and nodded causing a smile to cross his lips.

We stepped inside and were greeted by a host wearing an All Might costume. He bellowed out a loud, "Greetings Smash!"

Shinso was watching me closely waiting for me to crack and tell him there was no way in hell we were eating here. I shot him a glare. "You're going to pay for this later, you little shit." I hissed under my breath.

Shinso looked like he was on the verge of laughter. "Whatever it is, will be worth seeing the look on your face right now."

The young man in the All Might costume took a closer look at us and his tawny eyes grew wide as saucers, "Oh my! Y-you're Ellie!!! Right?!" He squealed, "My waifu-."

I shot the All Might cosplayer a deadly glare, "Don't call me that."

Shinso choked on a laugh at this, "Worth it."

"I hope you can swim, punk, you're going to end up in the Atlantic." I growled at my pupil who only laughed more at my rage.

"S-sorry, Lady Might." The All Might Cosplayer yelped, "I'm a big fan of you and your husband." He gushed. "And also a proud member of the Baby Might fan club."

"Our child has a fan club?" I asked in awe as I unconsciously placed my hand on my baby bump, "What the hell is wrong with you damn fanboys?!"

"Tornado? I thought I heard your annoying shrieks of rage." A familiar voice that grated on every last one of my nerves and whittled my very last bit of patience down to nothing, sounded from behind me.

I turned with a snarl of rage to see Endeavor, for once not in his hero costume, standing next to a young woman in her early twenties and a very disgruntled looking Icy Hot. "Don't. Fucking. Call. Me. That." My body shook as I clenched my fists. Shinso took a shaky step to the side as he spotted a small amount of electric energy gathering around my fists.

"Sensei, the baby taser is locked and loaded, you should be careful." He warned me.

Icy Hot looked to Shinso curiously working out what he'd just said before fighting off an amused smile. "Of all the pregnant women to instigate a fight with, you picked the worst one." He shook his head at his father.

Endeavor looked to the sparks of electricity around my clenched fists and sighed, "It's a habit. You were a notorious villain, Ellie." He grumbled.

Was that supposed to be an apology?

"Are you all together?" The All Might cosplayer asked us looking a little nervously at the electricity crackling around my fists.

"Fuck no." I snapped causing Shinso to double over laughing.

"Deplorable manners, as always." Endeavor rolled his eyes.

"Shut up, Flame Face! What the hell are you even doing here? You a hero fanboy too?" I growled. Why the hell did he have to show up?

"Are you insinuating that you're a hero fanboy, Ellie?" Endeavor smirked. Did he just try to make a fucking joke?

Shinso placed a hand on my shoulder before I could lunge at the irritating hulking man with the flaming beard. "Sensei?"

"What?!" I snapped only to feel the strangest of sensations overcome me as Shinso used his quirk on me.

"Play nice." Shinso smiled. "Why don't you two hug and make up?"

My body moved on its own accord and I opened my arms to give Endeavor a hug. Endeavor looked down at me with wide eyes and held his hand up smacking it against my forehead. He held me at an arm's length away from him with a frown. "What the hell are you doing, Ellie?"

A tiny blade of wind whipped past creating a small scratch across my cheek, the pain was enough to pull me back to my right state of mind. I smacked Endeavor's hand away from me with a scathing, "don't touch me!" before turning on Shinso with a glare, "you're dead."

"Table for five?" The All Might cosplayer squeaked growing increasingly nervous as we were now starting to draw quite a bit of attention.

"Eli, zap all the idiots." I growled under my breath.

Small bursts of electricity shot from my body one striking the fanboy, one striking Shinso, one striking Endeavor and one striking Icy Hot who was an innocent bystander throughout the whole ordeal but got zapped just for being the spawn of Flame Face. There was a chorus of yelps as each of them were zapped. The young woman with Icy Hot and Flame Face, who I assumed was Endeavor's daughter, laughed.

Shinso chuckled after he recovered from his shock, "This is the best day ever."

"...what did I do?" Icy Hot grumbled as he rubbed his arm where he'd been zapped by Baby Might.

"You're Flame Face's spawn and are therefore an idiot by association." I huffed as I folded my arms in front of me and turned on my heel away from the Todoroki family. I frowned as I noticed the hostess stand was now vacant and used a gust of wind to hover up enough to peer over top of the hostess stand.

The fanboy was lying on the ground with a stupid grin on his face. "Best. Day. Ever." He gushed.

"I'm surrounded by idiots..." I groaned.

"Oh my...what happened here?" A young man cosplaying as Best Jeanist looked to his coworker still grinning on the floor in a daze before turning his gaze to the five of us waiting to be seated. "Table for five?"

Shinso and Endeavor's daughter burst into a fit of laughter. Icy Hot took a few steps to the side trying to get out of my line of fire. My hormones spiraled out of control, I was torn between flying into a rage and sending the whole fucking restaurant across the globe, laughing at the absurdity of everything or crying. Thanks to the hormones, I burst into tears causing everyone to panic.

"You are the most stressful woman I've ever met." Endeavor grumbled before placing a hand atop my head in an attempt to comfort me which was just too bizarre for me to handle. He got zapped in the process. Rather than pull away he flinched and kept his hand in place before looking to the new hostess, "That's fine."

"WHAT?!" His children, Shinso, myself and a few random onlookers shouted in surprise.

The new host grabbed five menus and scrambled to lead us to a table. I stood rooted to the spot refusing to budge until a pair of strong hands gripped my arms and lifted me off my feet as if I weighed nothing.

"H-Hey!" I protested meekly as my tears slowly began to subside from the earlier influx of hormones.

Shinso, Icy Hot and Endeavor's daughter followed along behind us not knowing whether to laugh or call for back up. We reached our table in the ridiculous restaurant. Every employee was cosplaying as some hero and the walls, tables, chairs, floors, and ceilings were plastered with posters, newspaper articles and magazine clippings of all kinds of heroes. It was the most ridiculous establishment I had ever been to. Every TV around the room and at the bar was playing various interviews with heroes or old breaking news stories of some of the best heroic acts caught on camera.

Endeavor set me down in one of the chairs before taking a seat opposite me with an annoyed scowl. He handed me a few napkins surprising everyone. Though I wanted to throw them back in his face, I knew I was probably a hot mess and begrudgingly accepted them as Shinso dropped into the seat beside me with a laugh.

"This was a great idea, sensei." He smirked, "Thanks for the celebratory lunch, it's been quite entertaining."

"You're awful and I hate you." I grumbled as I attempted to wipe away the stupid tears that had started falling again. My hormones were insane, just as I thought I got myself under control I looked at the cute little All Might salt and pepper shakers on the table and was gone again.

The server came by wearing an Endeavor costume which had Icy Hot and Shinso trying to fight back laughter as Endeavor begrudgingly spoke to the Endeavor cosplaying server. He ordered for me which annoyed me but I was also still trying to stop having a pregnant meltdown and couldn't really yell at him. It annoyed me more that he ordered what I probably would have ordered for myself if I'd been able to see my menu through the flood of endless tears.

Once our orders were taken and the server took his leave, I finally managed to get my emotions under control. My heart was beating quicker than normal and my face felt hot which meant my blood pressure had probably spiked again. If Toshinori were here he'd know exactly how to calm me down. Endeavor handed me another napkin without a word. I begrudgingly accepted it.

Shinso looked over at me his dark indigo eyes filled with concern, "You okay?"

"This parasite is going to kill me or send me to jail again." I huffed.

Shinso chuckled, "I'd appreciate it if you could avoid both of those outcomes."

I turned away from him and scowled at Endeavor as he tried and failed to get his son to so much as look at him. He let out a sigh and met my scowl with one of his own. "What now?"

"How did you know what I would have ordered?" I glowered.

"I have four children, Ellie. This isn't my first Rodeo." Endeavor pointed.

I momentarily tried to picture the serious and scary Endeavor at a rodeo complete with ridiculous ten-gallon hat, boots and spurs. It was a ridiculous enough mental image that I cracked a smile and began to relax. "...thanks..."

His lips pulled into a faint smile, "You're welcome."

His daughter smiled, "Mom got that emotional too?"

"On occasion." Endeavor replied, there was a somber look in his teal eyes, I'd never seen his wife before and had a feeling, from his son's prior behavior, their home life wasn't exactly the best. It did seem like Endeavor was trying to make amends with his family for whatever it was and he was even trying to be nicer to other people...even me.

"Ellie?" Icy Hot looked to me curiously before glancing at Shinso.

"Yes, Icy Hot?"

Endeavor rolled his eyes, "Do you address anyone properly?"

I shrugged, "Depends on the day."

Icy Hot ignored my nickname for him and continued on, "What are you two celebrating?"

Shinso tensed and looked to me. He'd gotten special permission to take the exam.

I shrugged, "I was the only sworn to secrecy, you can tell whoever you want."

Shinso smiled, "I just passed the exam for my provisional hero license."

"Even though you're in general studies?" Icy Hot asked curiously.

"Not for long, Todoroki, I'll get to the hero course soon enough." Shinso sounded confident and I couldn't help but smile. He'd grown so much in such a short amount of time. Before he used to doubt himself a lot, he'd listen to what other people had to say about his quirk and he'd let it get to him. Now, he seemed more confident in himself and had more resolve.

"So, come here often, Flame Face?" I tuned out of the kids' conversation.

Endeavor looked at all the hero paraphernalia lining every surface of the place, "Can't say that I do."

"Then what the hell are you doing here?" I frowned.

"Fuyumi picked it." He grumbled and indicated his daughter who giggled.

"So how come Icy Hot is here too?" I asked curiously it seemed it was rare for him to do anything with his father.

"I lost a bet." Icy Hot mumbled and Fuyumi giggled again.

"Ah, so this is torture for you both?" I smiled at Fuyumi, "nicely done."

"And you?" Endeavor mused.

I jerked my thumb in Shinso's direction, "This little shit is the evil mastermind."

"If you can't even say no to your students, how on earth do you plan to discipline your child?" Endeavor scoffed.

"She won't, he's already a terror." Shinso pointed and winced as he received a tiny shock. "Delinquent." He grumbled under his breath.

Not long after, our food arrived and we had a surprisingly pleasant lunch together. Fuyumi seemed much more sociable than her brother or father, though they both joined in the conversation from time to time. Perhaps Endeavor wasn't as horrible as I'd originally thought, now that he was trying to make amends.
