Chapter Fifty Five

~Ellie's POV~

I woke with a start as I heard a loud crash from upstairs. I must have dozed off on the couch after breakfast. Eli and Nana were sound asleep on my chest and Eri was dozing off with her head resting on my stomach spilling frosty white hair across me. I was buried in children and tears welled in my eyes as I was overcome with such a strong feeling of love. Our family had grown overnight and my heart was full to bursting.

Toshinori poked his head out of the stairwell and glanced in my direction with a sheepish grin, "you're awake."

"Mhm, all the children are accounted for so who is destroying our home?" I pondered as I used my quirk to readjust everyone so I could sit up.

"Not destroying." Toshinori smiled as he exited the stairwell. He was wearing a pair of his old baggy cargo pants that he'd worn when painting the nursery, there were new paint stains on them.

"Are you painting?" I pondered.

"With some help." He smiled as he met me in the living room. He reached a hand toward me as if to gently cup my cheek but paused as he realized there was wet paint on his palm. It was a cute lavender color.

"What are you painting?"

"Eri's bedroom."

More tears welled in my eyes at this, stupid post pregnancy hormones were making me even more of an emotional wreck than when I'd been pregnant.

"Ah! Ellie, what's wrong?" Toshinori panicked as a single tear slipped from my hold.

"That's incredibly sweet!" I cried as I was overcome with emotion.

Toshinori chuckled and opened his arms to me. I dove into his arms with a sniffle and hugged him tight not caring if I got paint on me. He wrapped his bony arms around me holding me tightly against his skeletal frame. His paint free hand cradled my head as he gave me an affectionate squeeze. "Ellie really is the cutest." He gently rubbed my back.

"Sh-Shut up." I grumbled and wiped my face as I took a step away from him. I remembered him mentioning he had help and looked to him curiously. "Who's helping you?"

"Young Bakugo and Young Todoroki." Toshinori smiled.

This, for some reason, made me even more emotional. Toshinori panicked as I started to cry again. He pulled me back into his arms, held me tight and rocked me in his arms. I didn't like all these post pregnancy hormones; they were worse than when I'd been pregnant.

"Why don't you get some rest and try to relax today? I'll take care of everything." His voice was filled with so much sweetness and love it nearly broke me. He gingerly kissed the top of my head.

"N-no, that's not fair and it'll make me feel useless." I sniffled.

Toshinori chuckled softly as he continued to rock me gently in his arms to calm me down. "Well, you could make us all some lunch in a bit, I'm sure everyone would love that. It would be a great help."

"Don't patronize me." I grumbled at him as I tried to shove out of his hold but despite being stuck in his weakened skeletal form, he was still physically much stronger than he looked and was immovable.

"I wasn't, it WOULD be a great help and all the kids love Mommy Might's cooking." He grinned and I felt my cheeks flush with heat.

"Sh-shut up, idiot." I grumbled under my breath as I'd finally calmed down. "When do you think Eri's room will be finished?" I asked him softly.

"With the help of Young Bakugo and Young Todoroki, I expect it'll be finished tonight." He beamed and I felt a slight flicker of sorrow.

"So, we won't all get to camp out in the nursery anymore?" I asked morosely. The past two nights that Eri had been with us, Toshinori and I had made a pillow and blanket fort in the nursery and we'd all camped out as a family. I'd really enjoyed it and it seemed like Eri had liked it too, though she still hadn't said very much.

Realizing I was upset again, Toshinori leaned down and kissed the top of my head, "why don't we show her the room once it's finished and ask her if she'd like to camp out in the nursery again tonight, maybe she's not comfortable sleeping in her own room yet. I just thought it would be good to get it done as soon as possible so she can feel at home here and have her own space."

I was gone again. His kindness and warm heart had broken me again. Tears streamed down my cheeks and I clung to him tightly as I sobbed into his chest.

"Ellie?" He panicked as I sobbed against him.

"That'ssosweet.You'rethebestToshi.Iloveyou." I cried against him though it came out jumbled and muffled due to me being overemotional and not very coherent and my face being smooshed into his chest.

Toshinori chuckled softly, "I'm pretty sure I heard an I love you in there somewhere." He rubbed my back consolingly, "I love you Ellie, thank you for making me the happiest man on earth and blessing me with such a beautiful family."

I felt something small tug at the hem of my shirt before small arms wrapped around me. I turned and spotted Eri hugging me. Toshinori noticed and chuckled, "not to worry Eri, Mommy Might is just a tad emotional." He reassured her.

I shoved him away and threw him a scowl before scooping Eri up into my arms and giving her a warm hug, "sorry for waking you."

Noticing I wasn't sad, Eri's lips pulled into the faintest ghost of a smile before she shook her head to wave off my apology and wrapped her arms around my neck to return my hug. Toshinori smiled and took the babies up to the nursery to finish their nap.

"Did you want to go see how your bedroom is coming along?" I asked her curiously.

She pulled away from me a little so she could look at me. Her bright ruby eyes filled with curiosity. I wasn't sure if she knew what I was saying, I wasn't so sure she had a bedroom before it was probably more of a cell or holding room.

"Since you're part of the family now, you needed to have a room to call your own, we can decorate it however you want. If you like we could go shopping, I could ask Izuku and Mr. Aizawa to come along, you like them, right?"

Eri looked thoughtful before nodding.

"If Mirio is feeling okay, we can invite him too, if you want?"

Eri nodded again.

"Good." I felt relieved, "so, should we go see how it's coming along?"

She nodded again and hugged me.

I smiled and carried her upstairs. A few doors down from the nursery, I could hear the anger management hedgehog griping at Icy Hot about getting paint everywhere and smiled softly to myself. I came to a stop in the doorway. The walls that had been a boring grey were now a pretty lavender color, it seemed they were working on applying a second coat now.

Toshinori was looking at a few packages of borders that were to hang along the top of the wall in confusion as Bakugo continued painting. Todoroki appeared to have spilled some of his paint on the tarp they were all standing on and lost most of it. He moved to the collection of paint cans behind Bakugo to refill his now empty tray of paint. I looked to Eri and smiled as I saw her looking at the room with wide eyes, filled with wonder and awe.

"Do you like the color, Eri?" I asked her curiously.

She nodded enthusiastically.

"The brat better like the co-." Bakugo turned and stepped right into the tray of paint Todoroki had been filling. He stopped mid-sentence and glanced down at the lavender paint now covering a good portion of his sneaker. "WHAT THE HELL ICY HOT BASTARD?!" He raged.

Todoroki hadn't even realized what had happened and was still pouring the paint as he'd looked over to the door when I'd spoken. He turned at Bakugo's snarl of rage and I laughed as he smacked face first into a wet paint brush in Bakugo's hand. Eri was watching the two of them curiously. Her lips had pulled into a smile and I noticed when I started laughing, she laughed along with me quietly.

"It's fun having morons around, isn't it, Eri?" I giggled as Bakugo snapped at Todoroki again and hit him on the other side of his face with his paint brush.

Eri nodded enthusiastically.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU CALL ME. HAG?" Bakugo snarled, it seemed like his dusty blonde hair puffed up when he'd snarled which was quite comical.

Toshinori had been quite absorbed in the instructions on the cute princess border he'd missed the hilarity. He turned at Bakugo's loud roar of rage and noticed Bakugo's shoe in the paint tray, "Young Bakugo, I'm not sure if sneakers make for suitable paint brushes..."

"I didn't do it on purpose!" Bakugo raged.

If it weren't for Eri in my arms I would have doubled over laughing. I laughed hysterically and was happy to see Eri laughing along with me. Toshinori turned and spotted us laughing in the doorway. He smiled lovingly.

"Perhaps it might be a good idea to take a break for lunch soon." Toshinori chuckled thinking food would quell the raging blonde.

"Want to help me make lunch, Eri?" I asked her with a smile as I'd finally managed to stop laughing at the three idiots.

Eri smiled and nodded.

We retreated to the kitchen and I got out my step stool so Eri could reach the counter to help me prepare food before tying one of my aprons around her. It was a bit too big and I frowned slightly. "Well, when we go shopping for stuff for your room, we'll have to get you an apron that fits properly." I noted with a smile.

Eri's eyes lit up, "okay." She smiled softly causing tears to well in my eyes as she spoke.
