Chapter Fifty Eight

Toshinori's POV

I woke with a start as I heard one of the twins cry on the baby monitor. That was unusual, Ellie seemed to have some kind of crazy sixth sense about the kids and would run to them before they could cry. I sat up and glanced over at Ellie. She was sound asleep, curled tightly in a ball and letting out the softest cutest snoring sound, a testament to how exhausted she was. Careful not to wake her, I tucked the blankets around her before hopping out of bed to check on the twins.

When I got to the nursery the crying ceased and the twins looked to the doorway before simultaneously crying. "Ah- that hurts." I groaned as I realized they had been hoping for Ellie. "Sorry, Mommy Might is tired today, we have to let her sleep." I attempted to calm them down.

This did absolutely nothing to quell them and they both let out a shriek before wailing away.I panicked and started picking up various plushies to wave around and distract them so they wouldn't wake Ellie.

"No,no, don't cry, Ducky Might is here." I held up a plush duck wearing an All Might costume.

They paid no mind to Ducky Might.

I dropped the duck and held up a bear wearing an All Might costume, "how about Bear Might?"

The twins kept wailing.

I scrambled for another plush that one of Ellie's students had gotten the twins. It was a bright green alligator wearing a lady might costume, "Gator Might?" I shook it and the rattle inside made a noise. The twins halted their screaming and both reached for the plush in my hand. I panicked as I realized I only had one Gator Might and two angry Baby Might's.

I placed Gator Might in Nana's crib only to wince as Eli let out a loud enraged shriek that he definitely learned from his mother. A tiny beam of lightning zapped me in the back.

The door opened behind me and Eli and Nana let out cute little coos of delight. I groaned and turned around ready to grovel and beg forgiveness for waking Ellie up. I was surprised to see Eri wearing her new All Might onesie rubbing sleep from her crimson eyes.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" I asked worried.

She shook her head and bent down to look through the pile of plushies I'd successfully scattered in my panic. A moment later she found a second Gator Might wearing an All Might costume and placed it in Eli's crib.

"Do you three normally get up with Mommy Might around this time?" I asked Eri.

She nodded.

Of course Ellie was super considerate and would let me sleep in. She really was Super Mom and Super Wife. "And what do you usually do first?" I asked Eri before glancing at her nervously wondering if I should have stuck with yes or no questions.

Eri hesitated for a moment before quietly responding, "make breakfast."

"Breakfast seems easy enough, Dad Might can tackle breakfast." I tried to sound confident as I scooped up the twins and their Gator Mights.

Eri followed me downstairs and helped me get the twins comfortably on their play mats. Once they were situated I headed to the kitchen. Eri was a few paces behind me and retrieved a small child sized apron from a hook. She tied it in place before looking at me curiously.

"Am I supposed to wear one too?" I asked, unsure.

She nodded.

I reached for Ellie's apron and chuckled as I realized it was an All Might apron, "I think Mommy Might may be a little bit of a fangirl."

Eri giggled and went to get the ingredients for breakfast while I struggled with the stovetop. After successfully getting it turned on I cranked it up to High. I could sense someone watching me and looked over to see Eri shaking her head at me.

"Too high?"

She nodded her head very animatedly and I realized it was way too high. I lowered the temperature until Eri nodded her approval.

With Eri's help I managed to make us an edible breakfast without setting the house on fire. I fed the twins their bottle while Eri quietly ate her breakfast. After breakfast there was a loud thunderous knock at the door as if whoever was on the other side were going to knock it down if unanswered for too long. I got up from the table and headed for the door. I peered through the peephole and felt my jaw slacken as I saw a very surly looking Endeavor standing on the porch. He was sporting a new nasty scar on his face.

I opened the door and jumped as a bright red All Might gift bag was thrust at me. "Uh?" I accepted it awkwardly.

"Where the hell is your nuisance of a wife?" He growled.

"Sleeping."

"I have half a mind to go up there and give her a piece of my mind." He growled.

The thought of an angry Endeavor trying to wake Ellie from a much needed slumber was a terrifying thought, regardless if she liked him now he'd end up on another continent. "I know you two are friends now but-." I didn't get to finish my sentence as he let out an angry roar.

"Are you brain damaged?!" Endeavor snarled.

Eri poked her head out from behind me and let out a giggle while I choked on a laugh, that was exactly what Ellie would have said.

"What the hell is so damn funny?" He growled.

"That's something Ellie would say." I snickered causing Eri to giggle more while nodding her head in agreement.

Endeavor glared at me menacingly, "just give her the damn gift and tell her I don't owe her a damn thing." He huffed before angrily taking his leave. He didn't make it past the first step before he paused and turned back around, "she didn't go to the hospital..." He hesitated, it looked like he wanted to ask about her condition.

"She saw Recovery Girl. She'll be alright." I reassured him with a smile.

"I didn't ask!" He huffed before stomping off, though I could see some of the tension in his back had lessened, he was glad she was alright.

I closed the door once he'd exited through the fence and looked at the All Might gift bag while trying to fight off a laugh. "Mommy Might has interesting friends." I chuckled.

Eri smiled and nodded her agreement.

With Eri's help I was able to get some edible breakfast on a tray with a single flower from the garden and the present Endeavor had dropped off. We carried it upstairs to the master bedroom. Ellie was still snoring softly but had since sprawled out trying to take up the entire bed with her petite frame.

"Alright, Eri, it's important we be very careful when trying to wake up Mommy Might. We have to wake her up as gently as possible....or it'll get scary." I warned her in a whisper.

Eri nodded and tried to fan the steam over the cup of coffee in Ellie's direction.

"That's a wonderful idea." I grinned and helped her try to waft the aroma of the breakfast at Ellie.

Ellie stopped snoring and sat upright in her sleep. Her dark navy hair was stuck to the side of her face and sticking up in odd angles. Eri giggled quietly. Her deep blue eyes fluttered open and she let out the cutest yawn before attempting to push her hair off her face and smooth it out. She turned to me and an endearing blush spread across her cheeks.

"Breakfast in bed?" She asked in awe while rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

I looked to the thick bandages on her arm from the burn she'd gotten and frowned. She was doing all of this, for me. I didn't like seeing her hurt but I knew my wife well enough to know there's no talking her out of it. She was too determined to do this, for me, because I was incapable of saving everyone.

"Toshi?" Ellie looked to me in concern sensing my self-deprecating thoughts.

"Your good friend Endeavor dropped off a gift for you." I extended the gift bag to her.

"Do you have brain damage?! There is no way in hell I'm friends with that flame fu-," she spotted Eri and quickly aborted the swear she was about to spew, "-un sucker"

I choked on a laugh.

Eri giggled. They'd said the same exact thing!

"Right." I snickered and handed her the gift.

She snatched it from me in a huff and ripped out the tissue paper before pulling out a child sized All Might onesie to replace the one that had been ruined. "He got me a kid's one." Ellie glowered.

"...which is what you had before..." I reminded her with a smile.

"Sh-shut up, idiot!" Ellie grumbled.

I chuckled and set the tray Eri and I had put together on the bed in front of Ellie. Eri scrambled up onto the bed beside her eager to see if she liked her breakfast. Ellie took a bite and for a moment I worried that we may have put too much salt on everything as she hesitated before taking a big sip of her coffee. Eri looked to her hopefully.

"Best breakfast ever." Ellie reassured her with a smile before taking another hesitant bite.

I smiled and went to get the twins and a bottle of water for Ellie as I realized she was currently torturing herself and we'd added way too much salt to the dish. I returned a few moments later with a twin in each arm and a bottle of water tucked under my chin. The twins cooed happily the moment they saw Ellie awake and I set them both on the bed before extending the bottle of water to Ellie.

She smiled and took a big gulp. Miraculously she somehow managed to finish her breakfast before pulling the twins and Eri in for a morning cuddle.
