Chapter 34:: Falling
Author's POV:
"Your periods are over?" Taehyung asked as you nodded.
"Finally, freedom!" You said, happily. He smiled and nodded saying, "I'm going to be out for a one-week business trip... I'm supposed to leave 2 days later, ugh."
"Aww... I won't miss you!" You said, smiling. He scoffed and said, "As if I will miss you.. dream of it."
"We both know what's going to happen, kids." A voice spoke as you both looked in the direction of the voice to see Mrs Kim standing there with Mr Kim, smiling. You smiled a little and looked back as Mr Kim spoke, "But... we're going to Y/N's house today, to meet Mrs Jeon and Jungkook. So get ready!!"
You nodded. It had been some time since you hadn't gone to your house. Busy with work, life... where was the time? Only if Taehyung didn't make enough time for you and him, there would be no 'us' between you both.
As much as you missed your father, you knew that he was fine. You dreamt of him a few days ago, he was all fine, with you all. That dream made you cry that morning for sure but, relief rushed in you. Maybe he was fine..?

"Yes, mom.." You said and smiled, eating the dumpling she gave you. You took another dumpling and placed it on Taehyung's plate who smiled saying, "Dumbhead and dumplings... always the same."
"Shut up." You muttered. He chuckled as the others shared glances among themselves.
"It's soon... your first year of marriage. Time sure flies fast." Mr KIm spoke as you nodded. Taehyung smiled and said, "It does."
"But I'm grateful... it must've been a hard choice to listen to her dad's wish and marry someone you disliked." Your mom said as Taehyung looked at her. He looked a little amused.
"Mom.." You mumbled, sighing. Everyone seemed to look at Taehyung expecting him to say something, including you. He looked at his food and said, "Actually... that's not entirely why I married Y/N." His confession made everyone look at him a little confused.
"Well.. at first, I was against marrying her. I thought she'd make my life living hell... since I've never believed in dating. To me, I believed in marrying the woman I'd love, not flinging and dating for some time. It's just loving once in a lifetime. So I was sure she wasn't the one... but... I don't know when or how, maybe from the very first day we met, she somehow gained my attention as no one could ever."
He let out a chuckle, looking here and there, continuing, "In the hospital... when I saw her caring side for her father and family, I sort of felt different. I felt like I saw a completely different side of the woman I went on a date with, a woman who was a complete nutjob... worse than me." He was laughing but you frowned. Was he insulting you or telling some sort of love story?
"But she did... gain my attention. I don't know how or when or what... I just- felt like, I should marry her. No cause, but Mr Jeon's situation was also critical so I thought about his wish. I felt like... his wish was rather an opportunity for me he created... to feel a love I really needed. And that love... Y/N is the only one who could ever have it. I felt that way... and even after marriage, though we did play the Tom & Jerry game, I started falling for her and we... ended up here. But at times, I feel like I should've started realizing my feelings earlier... if that'd help me get one more day with her... with our love.."
You were perplexed. You knew he loved you but not that he actually had loved you in so many ways you couldn't imagine. Every day, this guy was shocking you more and more, more than he could ever.
"Y/N... you won," Jungkook spoke, chewing his food. Your blood rushed up to your neck and cheeks. Taehyung noticed it and smiled slightly, holding your hand from under the table. You let out a soft smile as your mom said, "I'm glad... my daughter is in the best hands."
You giggled and said, "More like, he's in good hands mom."
"As if.." Taehyung mumbled, with a smirk. You glared at him making him hold in a smile.

Your mom was washing the dishes and you were helping her as she asked, "Y/N, I'm so glad Taehyung is good to you. I see the way he looks at you, his soft smile when you smile... and the spark in his eyes when he stares at you. I see it all, dear... it's such a fortune. I'm so happy, you don't know."
You smiled and said, "Hey... mom! Why are you so emotional?"
"I don't know... be good to him too, help him overcome his phobia. Being with each other... growing, as a couple. It's a blessing... I miss my times."
"One day, I'll be telling these to my kids right?" You said. She nodded as you said, "Sounds like a happy future."
"You know... I don't bother much about love and stuff, it just looked plain to me at the time but... the idea kind of became more interesting with Taehyung. It was normal... as we became close like friends... then sort of like best friends? We became so close and I don't know when or how... he's just different, somehow caring... soothing. He's annoying at times but still- he's good to me... I believe. I would ask for a simple thing and he'd give me 10 extra fancy things saying I deserved it all. He is really... too good to me. But I don't think he should know, then he'll tease me a lot.. no! It's annoying. But yeah, he fails all the rom-com male leads."
She was smiling while doing the dishes and said, "That's what love is about. It's cosy and comfortable... yet so awkward and tingly. Somewhere there's comfort and chaos... havoc and the peace of heaven. It's always ups and downs dear, hardships... personal problems, moments which are so normal yet unforgettable. Love is pure, not like how they are shown in movies. It varies for people, for me and your dad, love was so different. We were friends who cared and shared... friends who were so special. We were there for each other in hard times, in happy times... We fought so much yet got back together. It was a giddy feeling... some may call it cheesy but, those little giggles and moments of overflowing young love are all we need... those are the memories you cherish years later. So make the most out of it."
You nodded and smiled.
"I see there's a deep conversation going on here?" A voice spoke, entering the kitchen. YOu both looked behind to see Mrs Kim. She patted your head and said, "Let me help too!"
"Y/N... for your mom, love was between friends.. for me and your father-in-law, it was rather intimate. But below that, a soft friendship existed... a soft giddy and cosy feeling. You see... and I see exactly those in you both. A mix of our and your parent's love, that's you both. Just the intimation is yet to come... I guess."
You blushed a little hearing her and chuckled. You all were chatting about random stuff and you realized one thing, time never waits for anyone... it's the time to make the most you can.
--Next day
"Tae!" You called as your husband came in the kitchen asking, "Yes?"
"Could you help me with something?" You asked.
"Yes, baby?"
The way he called you baby made you smile. You were trying to brush your hair with your arm, trying to move the bangs away from your face.
"Do you know how to tie hair?" You asked, your hands filled with flour.
"Tie hair?" He asked, a little perplexed. You nodded and said, "I'm going to fry some chicken for lunch but my hands are occupied. And my hair is disturbing me."
"Oh... where are the rubber bands?" He asked.
"I use scrunchies... they're on the nightstand beside the bed." You said. He nodded and walked inside the room, a few seconds later, he came back and said, "I might not excel at this though..."
"It's okay, I just need the hair out of my face."
He stood behind you as you were doing the work. He took the scrunchie and tried to tie your hair a few times but earned a groan from you.
"Should I call mother instead?" You asked.
"No. I will do this." He said as you sighed saying, "Thank you I guess..."
He smiled and tried again. After a few tries, not perfect but he still did something. Maybe made a complete knot out of your hair behind which would cause you to cut your hair off or maybe worse but at least the hair from your face was tied back now.
"Thanks." You said as he said, "Doesn't look quite neat..."
"It's okay." You said, smiling. He nodded and placed his chin on your shoulder, looking at the chickens you were marinating.
"Mmm... chicken for lunch." He said in a raspy voice. You nodded and said, "I haven't cooked in a long time. Mother kept insisting she wanted to cook. But I won the rock paper scissors!"
"Mom and you act like friends... long-term besties, huh?" He asked. You chuckled and said, "I wonder that too. My chemistry is better with mother than you."
"Uh-huh?" He asked with sarcasm in his voice as you nodded. He smiled and spun your around, holding you by your waist as you gasped.
"Hey! Let me do my work."
"Nope." He said, completely unbothered. You squinted your eyes at him and brushed your hand with his nose making some flour get on his nose. He let out a snort in disbelief as you chuckled saying, "Serves you right."
"Gosh... you're so evil." He said. You smirked and said, "Good you know."
He tilted his head, getting a better view of your face as you looked at him, flustered.
"Stop staring, will you? Let me cook." You said. He shook his head and said, "Then you better cuddle me after you keep them for marination."
"I need to fry them too." You said.
"Then cuddle me again after you're done frying."
"What a clingy monkey." You said, frowning. He giggled and said, "You love it, just admit it, love."
"Never." You said and pushed him away saying, "Let me cook."
"Gosh, okay! I'll wait for my cuddles then~~" He said. You sighed and said, "Go do your work! Are you that free?!"
"Right..." He said, looking annoyed. He was fed up with being a CEO at this point.
"Okay, whatever. I'll come back again if you take too long." He said and ran inside the room as you smiled shaking your head.
"It's going to be so hard to survive without my clingy monkey for a week.."
