Krithi's POV :

Sunlight hit my face as the morning rolled in. I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed them to remove the haze of my deep slumber.

It's such a beautiful morning. I sighed happily looking around as the room is bathed in the sunlight.

Just then my alarm started ringing. I quickly shut it down but was distracted by a yellow post it note on the alarm.

Had to attend an emergency.
Won't be coming for breakfast...-it said.

No honey, not even dear....

Its not like he is deeply in love with you!!!

Then the last night kiss came to my mind and I closed my eyes tightly to erase the memory...

Anyways, did he not apply leave for a week?!

It has not been two days since we married for heaven sake!!!

Its alright!
Let him work all he wants...
As for me, I have two more days till I have to go to work.

Just then my stomach growled. Oh my poor baby!!!
I can feel its sadness...

I could not even gift it an extra ice cream last night.

Ok. Now its time for breakfast!! Then I went through my daily routine and got dressed up really quick.

I made my way downstairs only to see dad at the dining table eating his breakfast with a news paper in one hand.

I shook my head at the sight. As soon as he saw me his face broke into a grin.

"Good morning Krithi, " he wished me cheerfully.

"Good morning dad, " I replied completely affected by his cheerful mood.

"How did you sleep last night?! Are you habituated here? " he asked with a smile.

"Its good dad. By the way where is Mom? " I asked him as I could not see her anywhere near.

"oh!!!You know your MIL and husband. Both of them are very much into their work!!" Saying that he just shook his head dejected.

"But don't you worry Krithi. I will accompany you for breakfast, " and that's how he is back to his usual cheerful self.

I just smiled back at him and got on with my breakfast. After I satisfied my tummy I walked back to my room.

My phone rang and a smile lit up my face as I see the name.

I accepted the call and said, "Hey stupid! What's up?"

"Hey, Krithi, " she replied rather nervously.

By the tone of her voice I can tell that she needs something from me.

"What is it stupid?!"

"You remember my paternal grandfather right!!! Well he is in hospital right now. His condition is critical and I need to be there. What you have to do is take my shift for heaven's sake, please baby, I know its been only a day since you got married, but try to understand my position. If I don't go, I can't imagine what happens to my...." she said all of it in one Breath.

I cut her off, "Alright,alright. I will do that. Now stop your drama. I know its your second profession," I said.

"Thank you so much krithi. Okay gotta go, " and the line went dead.

Well looks like she really is in a hurry. Or else she would have called me out on my stupid joke.

Well looks like I really don't have a day off today!!

I got ready a bit professionally and came out of my room to downstairs to see Dad getting ready to go to hospital.

I immediately rushed to him.
"What is it krithi?" Dad asked.

"Tapaswi's grandpa is sick, she has to go to their village for his sake and so I have to do her duty!" I replied.

"But it's been just a day since you got married!" Dad said calmly.

"Yes dad, I know but I have to be there for her in her hard times. Anyways there won't be anyone in this house, what will I do all alone?!!" I told him.

"That's what my daughter is like, helping the needy, I know we are not biologically related but we are so alike!!" he winked saying that and bid me bye.

He asked me to come with him in his car but I denied as I want to go on my baby, scooty since I missed it from few days.

Just before I ignite my scooty, I got a call from Aruna Aunty, Sneha's mom.

"Hi Aunty, everything alright?!" I asked.

"Why? Should I call you only if something is wrong?" Aunty teased me.

"Aunty, you are just like Sne, no,no..Sne is just like you, you'll never leave a chance to tease me!!!" I said.

"How are you krithi? How's are your in laws treating you?" She asked.

"I'm good. And my in laws are treating me like thier own." I said cheerfully, except my hubby I wanted to add but stopped myself.

"Actually krithi, if you are free I want to discuss something with you, personally not in call"

"Oh, but Aunty today I'm busy as I'm taking tapaswi's shift, her grandpa is sick. Can it wait for tomorrow aunty? I'm sorry.." I said disappointedly.

"That's alright krithi, then I'll meet you directly in your hospital. You don't mind right, we even have some medical issues with your uncle!!" Aunty said.

"Of course, Aunty, you are always welcome. Surprise me!" I said cheerfully and bid bye.

I wonder what's that important that she is so desperate to discuss.

I went to hospital and involved in my work.

I came out of the ward as Sneha's mom called me that she has arrived to the hospital.

I entered the cafe to see Hruday, Bala and Aunty talking to each other.

When I saw her, I ran to her and hugged her.

Her embrace felt like home, it's just been a day but still I'm homesick.

"How are you Aunty?
How's Sneha?"

She broke my flow of questions by telling that all are fine.

"Where's uncle?" I asked.

She said he went inside with dad aka Hruday's dad and she shocked me by saying that she is planning to hook some guy with Sne.

"Aunty, you mean our S.n.e.h.a.. do you think she will agree after that blind date you arranged?" and smirked at Bala.

"Yep! Sneha is not planning to go on a date. That's why I didn't tell her. She will directly meet her partner. Do you wanna know with whom she is going? " she asked me in a teasing voice.

What is she talking about?? Partner?? What about Bala?

I looked at Bala with sympathy.

"Yes, Aunty. Who is the guy? " I asked already hating the person who is trying to snatch my Bala's place.

On the other side Hruday is giving me his arrogant smirk with an amused look in his eyes.

I looked at Bala only to see him worried.

"Whom do you think it is?" Aunty asked.

Here I'm boiling with anger and aunty is testing my patience by teasing me.

"I have no idea, but Aunty I'm just worried Sne will not be agreeing to what you have decided." I said.

"That's why I came to you people, you have to make her agree to her marriage, you'll definitely do that right?" She said looking at me then at Bala and Hruday.

Great, she is asking Bala for his own grief!!!!

"Of course, Aunty, don't you bother. We'll try our best" Hruday reassured her.

Only if he knows.....

"Yes aunty, we will!!" Bala said.

Poor Bala, I'm really feeling bad for him.
What happened to that Bala who daringly made the previous blind date of Sne, go away.

"No wills, you.have.to.Bala. This is all upto you, I hope you make her say yes at any cost!!!" Aunty said.

This is going too far but I'm a bit confused. I'm Sne's cousin and Bff, then why is Aunty telling that it's upto Bala.

"But Aunty, who is the guyyyy?" I asked a bit annoyed.

"He is none other than your favorite buddy, Bala!!" she shouted and I'm like still processing what she told.

"Did you say Bala Aunty!! Do you already know he have a very large cru.." My words are stopped when Hruday nudged me with his elbow.

That's when I'm aware of what I'm going to spill infront of Aunty.

On the other side Bala is pleading me with his eyes.

'Bala you hit the jackpot yaar!'
I smirked at him and he smiled at me shyly.

Hruday covered my act by telling her that -- "she is very much excited for them, That's all Aunty and we wish best of luck for their relation,"

"Actually we saw how affectionate Bala is towards our Sneha yesterday and we know him since he is a kid. He is very good man and perfect for my daughter. Radha and I have talked about this yesterday itself in your reception. Sne is going to be very lucky to have Radha as MIL who is just like her." Aunt let out a chuckle.

Ofcourse, she will be, and Bala would be more than happy.

Both my best buddies are getting married.
What can I say?
I'm more than happy!!!

With that we bid her goodbyes and hruday dragged me with him to the common room.

Once he turned towards me I told him -- " Thank you by the way, you stopped me before I could spell the little secret of Bala out. By the way, how do you know about Bala's crush? " I asked him in a interrogative manner.

He looked at me up and down and Shook his head as if I'm asking a silly question and replied -- " Any one who is looking at him when Sneha passes by, will easily get to know that he has something for her. "

Yup. I agree with it. Bala easily display his emotions on his face and its very easy to know what he thinks about any one.

We remained silent for a while before he went away without even saying a bye to me.

How arrogant!!!!

After sometime:

I came out of the O.T. and washed my hands as I just assisted Dr. Sravya in a delivery where the labour pains started suddenly this evening.

So we hurried up and just now completed the delivery where a baby boy is born and took his first breath.

It's very nice to see these new borns immediately after they are born even though they are covered with amniotic fluid and blood.

The happiness in their mother's eyes when they first see their child is so adorable.. When will I experience it for myself?!

Arghhhh.....
Where did this came from?
Well, I want to experience it but will it happen with this Egoistic man I'm bound to?

By the time Sne's father did all investigations on his heart's functioning, as he had a mild chest discomfort yesterday;they asked Bala to bring Sne directly to the hospital, then they'll all go to Bala's house and have a talk in their house.

I hope Sne doesn't go hysterical after hearing the news.

I said that I'll stay till Bala comes but Aunty and uncle insisted that I should go as I'm newly wed.

I bid them bye and reached home, had dinner.

After that rushed to 'my' sorry #our# room to take a quick shower and left to the study room for the study of some cases.

I actually planned to bring my night dresses today from home but I just forgot.

Now I'm left only with this short night gown;

which.I.do.not.own!!!

Maybe stupid bought this in my wedding shopping.

Stupid girl!!!

If I'm in my home, I would definitely wear it without any hesitation but since I'm in this house now I should rethink.

However my dinner is already completed, I don't have to go down. The problem is all with this Hruday.

I came out of the washroom to see the room empty. I did a happy dance in my mind and thanked god that Hruday is not here.

I immediately rushed to the library and closed the doors and started searching for the text book I want and settled in sofa infront of a tea pot.

I'm so immersed in the case that I didn't notice when Hruday walked in.

He is standing there at the door and watching me intently. Then I say that I'm sitting in the sofa in Indian style he is looking at me up and down, mostly the parts which are exposed. Because of my sitting style my night gown thought of moving up.

For how long is he staring at me?!

I brought my legs down and stood up to know for what reason he came and he said that -- "I have to study some journals placed here. So you continue your work and I'll continue mine, " he said still looking at me intently.

So I sat again and felt uneasy when he came to my opposite seat and sat there.

But I tried to concentrate on my book but how can I when he is sitting this close with just his shorts and tee.

Then I remained myself of my case and started reading. I was reading about 'complicated hysterectomy' about which the book didn't have enough information and I don't have clear idea about it!!

I thought of asking Mam about this doubt tomorrow since my dress is not so presentable today!

I stood up to leave..

"What doubt are you talking about?" I heard Hruday's voice and I looked at him questioningly.

Did I mentioned it loudly. I stammered at him telling that there's nothing like that!

He came up to me and insisted and I have to tell it to him.

So I explained my doubt and he listened carefully.

He thought for sometime where I stared at his handsome face.

He started explaining me and I very well understood the case.

I'm quite impressed by his teaching, he is explaining every single detail and I don't think I have to study this topic ever again.

I'm still revising it in my mind after completion of his explanation and once I completed it, I stood rooted to my place seeing him standing close to me.

What's with him?

He came forward as if trying to intimidate me and speaking about facts I truly am feared by him.

I stepped backwards and my leg hit the sofa and I lost balance and fell on the sofa in sitting position.

He bent his face to my level and I moved my face back to prevent that much closeness.

He looked deep in my eyes and I'm again starting to drown in his brown pool of eyes.

He placed a hand on the head of the sofa and gripping my cheeks bringing my face close to him and whispered -- "Are you trying to tempt me? By wearing this?" And pointed at my night gown.

I stared at him dumbfounded.

Does he always think like that or I'm looking like that?! I don't know what to say. So I looked at him wide eyed.

"Don't bother!! Your tricks don't work on me and I ain't gonna fall in your trap of making me fall in love with you. I'm least attracted to you. So no problems!! " with that he left the room with an evil smirk on his lips.

What's his problem?
Did I tell him to 'come closer to me, I wanna tempt you' type signals?

As far as I know I didn't!!

Then why will he always make the first attempt and blame me in the last that I pulled him with ropes towards me!!!!

Not only that, he indirectly told me that I'm not at all attractive!!!

After this awkward situation, I made my mind to show him how attractive I can be!!!

I smirked. Resist my charms if you can Mr.Aurora. The real game just begun.....
