Krithi's POV :

What the heck!!! Why did he snatch my phone?

How dare he glare at me like that when I should be the one angry with him?

"Mr. Hruday, can you please give me my phone? " I asked him controlling my anger. But he did not make a move to do so.

I gave him an angry look and tried to take my phone from his hand.
But he moved his hand upwards which made it difficult for me.

Why the hell is he behaving like this?!
Did he forgot to take his 'pill' for arrogance today? He is behaving childishly.

I tried to bring his hand down by pulling it, but I didn't realise that I moved close to him.

Suddenly I felt the change in the atmosphere around us.

He circled his hand around my waist, way possesively bringing me closer to him.

He stared at my face deeply.

I lost my self in those brown orbs again. Can I ever get full of those orbs?! I wondered.

But my mind reminded me of the task at hand. I am planning to take advantage of this situation.

I slowly reached up to his hand without breaking my gaze. Finally I reached my phone.

I pulled my phone out of his hold and smirked victoriously at him. He seemed to be lost somewhere.

His grip loosened and I came out of his hold and continued talking with Bala.

Bala was very worried and asked me about the sounds he heard on phone.

I said- "Hruday arrived and he snatched my phone away. "

He replied - "Do you need some help krithi...Do you want to get away from him. "

I told him- "Its alright, I can manage."

"Ok, krit-kat, if any thing happened you can call me, you know!! I will always be at your service, " he said.

"Ok. Balaa I will keep that in mind. Bye, " with that I ended the call and turned around.

I came face to face with an angry man. What's his problem, I can't understand him at all😓.

I raised my eyebrows, questioning him to elaborate the reason behind his anger.

He asked, " Who is Bala?"

What?! Out of all the questions I didn't expect him to ask me this.

"Why do you think that I am going to answer your question?! " I answered him uninterestedly.

"You te-" he started.

But I cut him off -
" Look Hruday. We can have this endless argument some other time. But can we just have some dinner now. I am tired and hungry right now."

As if on cue my stomach growled. I felt embarrassed. He just sighed and went back to his seat.

At present my mind is completely filled with thought 'food'. All other things are my second preferences.

I took my seat. We ordered our food and waited for it silently.

We started eating after its arrival and I moaned in the middle tasting the delicious food.

My tastebuds are more than satisfied by this taste. The HEAVEN restaurant took me to heaven by this food.

We got our desserts. I started eating my ice cream totally forgetting his presence until-
" Is he the man from club?" He asked out of blue.

I'm confused. Whom is he referring to?

"Who? " I asked.

"The one with whom you are laughing and dancing that night at club" he said sharply.

Club? With whom I'm dancing? I looked at him blankly.

Ooh!!!! Is he talking about Bala? Why is he so curious about him anyways?

Hahh!! Why should I answer him? He is not my father to interrogate me about my relationship with opposite gender.

"Why do you care? " I asked.

"Just answer me, okay? "

"Why should I? "

"Is he your boyfriend? "

"He is my very best buddy since childhood. Is this information enough for you?! "I said firmly.

"Oh! But I beg to differ. He was being all touchy with you in the club. Why would you agree to meet a guy, your family chose when you have him? Did you have a lover's spat? " he said in one breath.

"You are being delusional" I said controlling my anger.

"Are you really going to act innocent. I am not that dumb you know!!! How many boyfriends do you have? Is one of them present here in this place?" He said in a mocking tone.

"Is that the reason you came to meet me? Just answer me dammit!! " he continued throwing insults at me.

All the words he said started to fill rage inside me. Before I could understand what happened the water I was sipping in is all over his face and the glass in my hand is empty.

Oh oh!! This is bad. Very very bad.

However I feel satisfied by my work.
Of course he deserves this.

But I should not have done it. He slowly cleared his eyes and looked at me with so much rage that I visibly shook in my seat.

My mind was muddled with many thoughts and only one word stood out of them : RUN.

And that's what I did.
Once I was out of the restaurant I took my baby and hastily left the place.

I can still hear the pounding of my heart even though I came a mile away from the restaurant.

That bastard!! Why did he said all those things? I hate him so much.

By the time I reached my house I am visibly calm. I entered my house only to see my mother waiting for me in the living room.

I groaned silently.

On seeing me my mom smiled at me and signaled me to sit beside her.

As I settled down she asked me the most dreaded question-
"How did the date go Krithi? "

I contemplated whether to tell her the truth or not but went on with a lie-
"It was OK mom, "I said.

She sighed and started,
"Krithi, I know you didn't want to marry right now. But just think about us. We want to see our daughter settled down and happy dear. "

"It's been a while since we met their family. And you guys already went on a date. So just think for a while and tell us your decision. "

"We cannot make them wait long. Whatever your decision will be, we will always be there with you. "

I started to think deeply how to make her understand that I don't want to bind in 'marriage thing' this early... That too making my career as second preference.

My mother voice interrupted me from my thoughts -
"OK now enough of this talk. Go and have some beauty sleep. You look so tired. Is that a dark circle below your eye?" She started checking my face.

"Mom!! I am alright. Yaa... It's a black circle. But it can be removed by your good night kiss" I smiled sheepishly at my mom and winked at her.

She kissed my forehead which bring me to peace. She is the best mom I can ever ask for.

"I am tired and I will go to sleep mom. Good night!! " With that I left for my bedroom.

I changed into my PJ's and laid down on my bed looking blankly at the ceiling.

I started replaying the words my mom said. Everything that happened today made me think why were we playing this game -
Going to date when we both don't like each other? He just wants to take revenge for his wounded ego. And I am running at his beck and call.

If this goes on our parents may get hopeful and we will just be leading them on.

This should stop now. Tomorrow I will meet him and tell him to stop these games and the decision I took about my relationship status.
( Ofcourse single... 'Not' ready to mingle. )

After that I will tell my decision to my parents and finally I'm going to be free from that Arrogant, Egoistic Man.

Hmm! Seems like I have a Big day tomorrow. With that I am off to my
' la la land'.

Right now I am walking to the department of surgery to have a talk with Hruday.

Earlier I called him to inform him that I am going to meet him but he cut off the call saying he was busy.

I straightly went to his ward to see him taking rounds. So I waited for him to complete his rounds.

After that when I reached him he - " I told you that I am busy right now, then why did you come here!! "

"Look Dr. Hruday it is very important to have this talk. I want to tell you something.. " I replied hurriedly.

"What is it Ms. Krithika, "he asked clearly annoyed.

"Mr. Hruday, you and I both know we don't like each other. I don't know about you but I can't continue this charade. If we keep on meeting each other, our parents may think we like each other. "

I remained silent and continued,
"I don't want to mislead them. So I suggest you to clear this matter to your parents. I am going to inform my parents that I am not into this proposal. I hope you do that too. "

With that I turned around and left the place without giving him a chance to speak.

Because I know if I let him speak we would have been in an full blown argument right in the middle of the ward.

I don't want to create a scene here in the hospital. I mentally patted myself for rescuing the patients in the ward from seeing a godzilla.

If they had seen him like that, they would have been scared for life. All these silly talks aside I can feel the burden lifting off my shoulders.

There is only one thing left to be done : speaking with my parents.

I will do that at dinner tonight. I skipped along the hallway smiling to myself.

I am present watching drama in my home thinking about ways to confess my parents.

My mom is preparing dinner in the kitchen. Suddenly calling bell rang.

My mother asked me to answer the door. I quickly got up from my sitting position to attend the visitor.

I opened the door and the sight that greeted me shocked me.

What the heck!!!
