Something big was going on, and the thought of Ajax being hurt was curling badly in his stomach. 

[M/N] since Ajax wasn't at home after five lately and isn't home until the clock strikes three in the morning. He only knew Ajax was home at that hour because Sweetie would stumble into Ajax's legs and Kuai would hear him and he would stomp his feet against the floor for them to quiet then. Most of it would lead to a fight between a bunny and the slime until Ajax separates them and placed Sweetie in the bed between them to sleep. 

When he was gone for that long, it meant work had piled up, and was taking his time or preparing for a long mission around Teyvet. If he was packing up for home, then [M/N] would have to go with him. He missed home and missed his in-laws very much, his own family moved to Sumire so his home was Ajax's home. Besides, he missed the snow as well. 

[M/N] woke up on Kuai gotten on the bed and pawing at his cheek, he smiled before gently placing his bunny down and began walking out the room. He stretched his arms above his head, some of his bones cracking from the nice stretch as he opened the curitans. Sunshine bursting inside their home and [M/N] noticed Ajax's things were gone. 

He must've gone to work...my poor love..working too hard for his own good.

[M/N] brushes his teeth, showers, and changes as Sweetie was eating some leaves left in his bowl and Kuai drinking some water. He pulled the cabinet door opened and placed an empty lunch box before grabbing the things he needed for the lunch. He was told tired himself from work to make their lunch the night before, lucky for him it was a day off. He pulled the soup to warm up on the stove and began making some onigiri, fresh ones. 

I wonder what it is though...why don't the others pull their weight? My husband shouldn't be out this late...it annoys me so much.

He was happy to live in the protection of the Fatui because he is the husband of one of the Harbingers but they literally do nothing but sulk or grumble about work. Ajax never did that, especially the fighting parts but there was lots and lots of paperwork afterward. [M/N], if he had time, reads over it out loud for Ajax as he visited his office but it was too much even for him.

[M/N] blows the fire out of the oven and poured some of the fresh Prize Catch into a cover and placed the lid on it. He wrapped it up and into a bow with the ends. [M/N] placed more onigiri balls into the area above it before closing it once more. [M/N] yawns to himself before placing it in a bigger bag as he slides his shoes on. He opened the door before walking down the street, locking the door behind him. He kept walking towards the Northland bank with a cheerful hum escaping his lips as he walked to the building. 

"Hello, Master [M/N]." Ekaterina greeted Ajax's husband with a smile. "He's right inside, he's been grumbling about how hungry he was." She gestures to the bag and [M/n] gives a smile.

"I had a day off today, so bringing lunch was a good idea, no?" He said as she opened the door for him, his shoes clicking softly as he walked into the interior, humming as his [E/C] eyes marvel at everything around him. There were no guards or such, which surprised him but kept pushing on to Childe's office. He goes to open the cracked door when someone speaking stops him. He peered inside the room a bit as he saw two fatui men in front of Childe, kneeling as a sign of respect.

"Is that all you can recount of their appearance?" Ajax said, eyeing the guard in front of him like he was wishing for a death wish for lying.

"Of course Sir, many accounts from Mondstadt had seen her take down the guardian dragon Dvalin, she and some knights along with the Ragnvindr heir fought beside her." One said as the other nods beside him, Ajax hummed and stared down at them as [M/N]'s eyes narrowed.

A young lady against a single dragon? I heard that they had a problem with my suppliers but I never thought it was that worst. perhaps another archon in the making?

"She is also looking for her lost sibling, his picture is all over the walls in Mondstadt," The other Fatui guard said as he looked up to his boss for a moment. "She will be coming to Liyue soon with her companions."

"Companions, you say?" Ajax said interest in his voice as they both nod.

"Yes, the Calvary Captain, a boy from the forest and the boy's best friend." He answered as Ajax nods. "The Captain seems strong but so are the two, we can attack-"

"No." Ajax said sternly as he looked upon them, his soulless eyes staring down at the two causing them to go still. [M/N] almost went still as well, "Let them come, we can strike once the Rite comes. When we steal the Gnosis, we can take them on then. Just observe from the shadows and make sure no one from our side plays too rough. I can handle the rest when her team comes here." 

Rite..Rite of Descension..poor Rex lapis...but..wouldn't this land be open to danger without their Archon? Why would they-

[M/N] shakes his head, Ajax wouldn't put the lives of millions in danger, would he? No way, he couldn't, wouldn't..

He takes a deep breath before knocking on the door, the talking stops as the door opens, Ajax's eyes brighten up a bit to see his husband and the bag he was carrying. "My sunflower~"

"Hey, I wanted to bring you some food since we barely see each other and well-" [M/N] offered the bag of the warm food, Ajax takes it with a bright smile as his stomach growls once the smell of it hits his nose. "Did I come at a bad time?"

"No! No, just some matters that were happening and I needed to take care of." He assured his husband with another charming smile as [M/N]'s gut pulled a bit, something was telling him that he had to run away or tell someone, one of the Adepti or madam Ninggung but he pushed it down as he [M/N] smiled.

"That's good, what shall I make for dinner my love? Any special request?"

"Hm, surprise me." Ajax leans down pecking [M/N]'s lips, not caring for the lack of response as he gives a wink. "Like that."

"Sure, be good...okay?" [M/N] said as he gently leans up and caresses his lover's cheek. "I love you."

"I love you as well."

"Have a nice day!"

All-day [M/N] had been on his feet, working with people or having delivers made as people were happy for the whole Rite. He would have to go up there and see it for himself, as usual since he had a business and wanted to know how lucky he was going to be with it. [M/N] always made a lot of money every week but knowing the Archon blessed him would be great for business.

"I'm here for"

"The robe! I have it here!" [M/N] grasped the order and hands it to the older man who pays. "Have a nice day!"

"You as well!"

[M/N] sighs as he checked the time and the people moving up towards the area. He placed his apron down and hurried out before all the best spots were taken for the view of it. [M/N] yelped as he bumped into someone as he turned the corner and looked up, eyes widen to see Zhongli and pulled back. "Are you okay? I didn't see you Mr.Zhongli!"

"It's fine, It was my fault." he assured the other with a fond smile. "Are you going to go see Rex Lapis?"

"Yeah! I wanted to make sure I get a blessing or such for my work. I make a lot already but extra reassurance would be terrific!" [M/N] grins as Zhongli smiles a bit at his excitement but the little tug of guilt was pulling him. Hopefully [M/N] wouldn't be scared about the whole ordeal.

"Okay, well, I just know your business will be booming more often with the Lantern rite coming up as well. Lots of couples are ordering your clothes to wear like Lady Ningguang." Zhongli said, giving his blessing to him as [M/N] grins a bit, a little flustered look appeared on his face. His friend was such a kind and smart man.

"Thank you, would you like to come with me up there?" He asked, tilting his head with a smile on his face. Ajax was gone this morning and even from his office at the Northland Bank. [M/N] looked to him, hoping he wouldn't be alone up there in the crowd.

"I am sorry, but I have to decline, Director Hu Tao has me running some errands, and here was just one of them," Zhongli said, giving a timid smile as [M/N] smiled. "No, it's fine! But I do hope we get to hang out soon." [M/N] said as he moved back into his shop and pulled the black shorts and matching hat for her order. He hands them to his friend before waving, "See you later!" He smiled as he began walking with the next group going up.

They were crowded out of the edges as Ningguang assistants were waiting and placing things on the table to offer Rex Lapis. There was quiet mummering in the crowd but it was ignored as Lady Ningguang came out and stepped up. She waited patiently and [M/N] blinked as someone accidentally nudged him a bit as she walked. [M/N] looked and saw it was a girl and her flying pet?

She was pretty cute but her clothes looked weird, something not from around the nation. Outworld-like it but [M/N] ignored it as Ningguang summons geo around her, it flows around her before going into the chambers. It glows brightly before shooting light into the clouds, the clouds gather around towards the table where Rex Lapis should appear below it. Everyone watched with excitement and awe at the movement.

The clouds began turning black and the body of Rex Lapis falls onto the table. It breaks and Ningguang with her assistants moved back from it, everyone in shock watched her bend down before snapping.

"Seal the exits! Rex Lapis has been killed!"

[M/N] was just shocked, how could the Archon of Liyue just die? A literal god of geo and contracts died in front of them or was killed and died as it landed on the table. The Millelith surrounded everyone but [M/N] couldn't help but see the new girl and her pet climb down to avoid it and watched from the railing. He wasn't talked to yet and before he could, the girl was caught. They chased her down the stairs with her pet, and then she was cornered, the Millelith surrounding her up and down the stairs. [M/N] shakes his head at her, couldn't she have been talked to without all of this??

Poor darling is gonna rot in jail-

"Hold still girlie." [M/N] leans more over the railing and watched as his husband jumps out, shooting Hydro arrows at the Millelith, and hopping out from behind her. He pulled his double blades out and defeated the Millelith with ease. He could see it from there, the charming smile he pulled and gave her as she was shocked.

So this is why you left early and totally never told me where you went..and girlie? out of the whole fucking names you have chosen that one?!?

[M/N] glared at her and her small pet as they followed his husband, HIS HUSBAND, a stranger who helped her. Jealousy boiling in his stomach as he watched them hurry away from the scene and [M/N] gasped as a hand landed on his shoulder.

"Excuse me, please come with us." One Millelith said as [M/N] sighs.

It was gonna take all day.

Apparently, they saw his husband do that and [M/N] had to deal with accusations and threats from the fallen Millelith.

He didn't get home until the early morning and was annoyed that his husband wasn't even home yet.
