Hira... Hira...!!! uff .!!! where the hell is this girl now??? I am searching for her for the last half an hour with the juice.. it will surely go stale..

"Chhoto Ma... ora beriye poreche holud niye.." Kaka yelled arranging the flowers.. (CHHOTO MA, THEY HAVE SET OUT WITH THE TURMERIC). "and I saw Hira didimoni going to the attic.." he confirmed...

I rushed... shit.. they have already set out.. and this girl is..!! ughhh.. what is she doing there...!!! I rushed..

Oh.. yes...time passed at its own pace... I graduated from ' Chhoto Bou to Chhoto ma'.. (CHHOTI BAHU TO CHHOTI MA).. After thammi.. a few years a ago, jethu (BADA PAPA) too left... Jemma (BADI MUMMY) followed him... Puchu... who was just a three year old baby when I came to this Roy mansion... was now running after her three year old son..!!! Can you believe it??? Baba ma.. shook off their responsibilities to me and Mayu... and spend the whole day either playing with their loved grand children.. or fighting with each other..with age they had again become kids... Our foodie Bod da, (Mayukh's elder brother) already retired...had lost his love for food.. super active boudi too had slacked after Puchu got married... Churni.. my darling sister-in-law, too was packed up with her in-laws and her proffesion... she rarely paid visit to us unlest we had some occasion.. she last visited us at Puchu's son's annaprasan (rice ceremony).. that was some two and a half years ago... My eyes used to wail up... The Roy mansion that used to chirp with Bod da, Mayu and Chuni's fun fights.. elders scolding them.. now seemed to be a old age home for the Roy family.. Thank god Puchu's in-laws were enough liberal to let her visit us often...

Coming to my children, well...Hira became a fashion desighner.. and this time Mayu did supported her with heart and soul.. though our sons Chuni-Panna followed their father's foot steps.. Mostly they stayed out of station.. it was only Hira .. our life line, the happy colour... but today.. even she was leaving us... yes.. you got it right... It just seems like yesterday, that my babies were born.. and today of them is getting married..my Hira.. getting married..!!

The attic door is closed. Not even here.. where she might be?? God damn.. the groom's relatives will arrive here with the turmeric at any moment..!! I want her to drink this juice before they come.. well.. In our culture, in the day of marriage, the bride and groom are fed at the dawn.. and after that they aren't allowed to have a single morsel till they are getting married.. and I, though had a 'don't care' attitude all my life, but I firmly believed that marriage is a one time thing but lasts for a life time.. so why not to follow all the rituals... I did follow in my marriage.. and am very particular about Hira too.. She must follow the rituals.. after all following a ritual wont harm.. Mayukh has been a awesome husband.. my pillar.. my soul mate.. though sometimes he has been crazy, moody.. even last month when our kids turned 27... he was all kinky with me... even at this age of 59..!!! he yet succeeds to make me blush though not everyday.. but often.. be it making Sunday brunch.. to planning a sudden family picnic... he yet gets mad at me... when I speak to Rangon.. yes.. again you heard that right.. even today!!! Some things never change... be it you are newly married or you have completed 31 years of your marriage...

Ohh.. by the way... our Hira is getting married to Rohit.. Rangon's son... yes.. though Rangon and Trisha got married after us.. but they got blessed with Rohit before us..and the only reason Mayu agreed to this marriage was Rohit worked as Junior scientist, assisting Mayu.. in SRO (the company Mayu worked for. I have mentioned in the initial parts)...

I was about to wheel back... when I heard Hira's voice... "no baba... this is wrong.. if ma comes to know about this she will be furious" "arrey.. she won't come to know.." a known male voice..!!! what??? Mayu??? What the hell is he upto..!! ugghhh... no.. not any stupidity I shall entertain now... I slowly opened the door... and my jaw dropped...

Mayu and Hira were sitting on the dusted floor.. with a tray full of fish fries!!!! "what the hell is this???" I could not stop myself.. what a father is he.. he very well knows Hira isn't supposed to eat today.. yet..!! what should I do with this man!!! They froze...

"umm... I was testing the taste.. these are samples.. you see... snacks for the guests... caterer gave me.. these will be served in the evening.." Mayu stammered... covering Hira.. I greeted my teeth..!! he is lying to me!!! "Ma.. I didn't have a single bite.. promise... baba thought may be I am hungry.. please don't scold him.." my daughter came forward defending her dad... now what should I do with this father-daughter duo.. I didn't feel like scolding or even shouting on this holy day... I handed her the juice.. "go and get ready for the 'gaye holud'" (ritual of applying turmeric paste ).. she looked at me.. and then her dad... he passed a ' I will handle look'... she ran downstairs...

I glared at him and turned.. but fell back with a sudden tug... "Sorry baby.." he hushed.. I struggled to be out of his hold... but stopped I felt him untugging my saree from waist... his breath kissed my shoulders.. I shivered.. yes.. even at this his touches did make me shiver.. "I am missing you from the last week.." his voice had already turned husk.. I gulped.. I turned.. "have some shame.. your daughter is getting married today.." I somehow spoke getting out of his hold.. "exactly... I want another daughter now.." his eyes glittered.. what??? Is he insane..?? "so... Hiyu baby... can you give me another daughter..???" he kept stepping forward... "I... I.. had made the arrangements long before... you will have two daughters... Chuni- panna.. they will bring us our daughter-in-laws.. you make them our daughters..." with that I stuffed two fires into his mouth and fled.. only to hear his chuckle...
