Sumiyoshi's wife died during birth a month ago ( she didn't but yk ) so they're both wifeless.

Damn everyone is wife-less and gay-

This ship will be mainly mentioned at the start of this chapter up.

Also!!! When we get to a MAJOR part in the story, there will be a piece of artwork to go alongside it!!

Anyway I'm ranting. To the storyyy!!!!

Yoriichi POV

I have been staying at Sumiyoshi's for 3 days now. He has a small cabin, meaning we have to share a room with his daughter, Sumire. She's so sweet, what I wished for my baby girl to be like.

Sumiyoshi was a great friend. He helped me out massively from my dark pit. He understood me the most, as his wife, Suyako, passed in child birth a month ago.

He made me feel like Sumire was ours. Not just his. He needed some weight off his hands as well.

Today, I was tasked with looking after Sumire while he went and chopped wood.

Sumiyoshi and I are great friends. I met him while at the temple. He was the first to talk to me and embraced my silence with his talkative manner.

As friends, we have done a lot together. Even though we took separate paths, we are still close.

I laid a sleeping Sumire down in her crib as he arrived back.

He had a basket full of wood and piled it up.

"Hello again" he said, I just nodded my head.

He kissed my birth mark. I smiled.

He had done this since day one. He saw my unusual birth mark and thought if he kissed it it would give him good luck.

So, from that day on, he has been kissing my birth mark every day we see each other. Most of the time, multiple times a day.

Sumi made udon for dinner. I can't cook, leaving that up to Uta.

He sort of filled that void. Sumi could cook, do 'housewife' chores and so on.

The food was delicious. The one thing I could do was clean dishes. So I took it into my own hands to do so, even though he tried not to.

That night was freezing.

Filled with tosses and turns.

"Yoriichi~san?" Sumiyoshi asked

"Yes?" I replied. Both of us where unable to sleep. Seems like Sumire was the only one capable.

"Do you want to star gaze?" He asked

I sat up.

"Sure"

We got out of bed and went to the porch.

We layed down and grazed upwards.

I was never that fond of the night sky. I left tha up to Aniki [ spell check? ]. He was the Moon Hashira after all. And I was sun.

"Stars never interested me. Just Michikatsu" I said, speaking my mind.

"Hmm. Suyako was the one who taught me. She knew every astrology sign. If her and Michikatsu ever got to meet, they would have been great friends" He said.

I smiled slightly.

We stayed silent that night, just staring up at the stars.

We managed to make our way inside, when dawn arrived. We got little sleep and where drousy that morning.

Sumire was a very well behaved baby. She rarely cried and accepted us.

Sumi as her father, and me as the step in other.

I got a crow message saying that Michikatsu will arrive at Lunch to say hello.

I was glad to see he was doing alright, even with the whole Muzan issue.

That damned demon.

He also said he would bring Tamayo, to check up on Sumire. It was regularity.

Sumiyoshi cooked some Salmon Daikon as I stacked the wood up in the wood shed.

They arrived. Michikatsu was holding an umbrella up for Tamayo to sheild her from the sun. Giving her shade.

She was smiling and he was trying to pace match her.

It was a funny sight.

"Yoriichi~ San. Sumiyoshi~kun. Hello. May I enter to get out of the sun?" Tamayo greeted.

"Go ahead Tamayo~san. Sumire is inside laying down. Check up on her as you please" He said and walked out the house with the Salmon Daikon for the three of us

"Thank you." Michikatsu said and started eating.

I ate my food.

We all ate in silence.

"So, michikatsu, how have you been?" He asked.

"Good. Haruhime thinks I'm in love with Tamayo though so it's awkward. She wants tamayo to leave the house, but I'm giving her residency. She has nowhere to go, then we left for here. I fear when I got back she will fight with me" He explained.

I patted his shoulder.

"Well I wish you luck. I would offer Tamayo to stay here but we have no spare things to offer. I apologise" Sumiyoshi said

"It's fine. Truley. She either kicks us out, or she accepts us. I'm fine either way" Michikatsu said

"Where will you go?" I asked

"I'll probably head to Machakasas. He's got the best estate" Michikatsu said

It was true. The wind Hashira had the best estate.

Rengoku's was the worst. To bright.

"Pardon me for interrupting. But I gave checked over Sumire. She is in great health. Would you like me to mix up Milk for beneficial purposes?" Tamayo asked

"Whatever is necessary" Sumi said

"When tamayo is done we shall head back. Not to bother you for long. I will send updated crows after we return to inform you on the journey with Haruhime.  The meal was lovely, thank you Sumiyohsi" Michikatsu explained

"Ah it's my pleasure. Let me to wash them" he said and went inside.

It was just me and my brother now.

I sensed something was up.

"What's wrong, Aniki?" I asked.

He looked down and let out a sigh.

"I'm just worried. I really love Haruhime and I don't want to leave her.... but Tamayo is like a sister to me, to us. And I can't not help her. Whats your advise, Yoriichi?" He asked

I looked down.

"Be truthful with her. Tell her tamayo is nothing but a friend, a family member. And try to refrain from getting to angry" I said.

We smiled at eachother "thank you" he said.

Tamayo walked out with Sumi.

"Right. We must be off. It was lovely catching up!" Michikatsu said and grabbed the umbrella.

He put it over tamayo, casting a shadow around her.

They smiled and waved goodbye before walking away.

I layed back on my Futon inside.

I was tired as anything.

"Go sleep, yoriichi. I'll wake you up for dinner" sumi said and kissed my mark.

I smiled

"You sure?" I asked

"Positive. Goodnight!" He said.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep fast
