Hardships
~Elsa and Jack~
"Jack, I've never met any of your friends. Do you want to invite them over? I mean, I'm having Jasmine and Aladdin over." Elsa offered. She was cleaning their apartment, trying to make sure that everything was perfect.
"You want to meet my friends?" Jack asked. His friends were nothing like Elsa's. He's friends like to have fun, while Elsa's were more, well, proper. They all acted like they had never had a good time in their life.
"Yeah, I mean, they can't be that bad, right?" She chuckled. She expected Jack's friends to be normal, social adults. Well, she hoped.
"Okay! I'll call them right now." He cheered. He was excited for Elsa to meet his friends. They had been there for him his whole life. Jack quickly called Taylor and texted Samuel.
"Jack." Elsa called.
"Yes dear?" Jack teased.
"Don't call me dear. Anyways, what are your friends like?" She asked, shrugging her shoulders as she cleaned a few dishes.
"Okay, honey," Jack smirked, receiving a death glare from Elsa. "Taylor is bubbly and very social. And Samuel, well, he's deaf so you'll have to talk slower to him so he can read your lips, but don't talk too slow otherwises he'll get confused and-" Jack rambled.
"Okay! Slow down! Does he know sign language?" She interrupted, raising her hands so he'd stop talking.
"Yeah. Taylor and I too." He replied, nodding his head. Elsa smiled and tossed her blonde curls over her shoulder.
"Good, you're lucky I took sign language in college." She smirked, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"Wait. Wait. You took sign language and you never told me?" Jack questioned, cocking his eyebrow at her. No way she took sign language. Not possible. Okay, it was possible, but she had to be lying.
"You never asked." She chuckled, turning back around. Soon, there was a knock at the door. Elsa and Jack went and opened the door.
"Elsa!" A girl cried as she brought Elsa into a hug.
"Jasmine! I'm so glad you could make it!" She cheered as they pulled apart to look at each other. Jasmine's dark, thick hair was pulled back in her signature look. She had large, gold hoop earring hanging down from her ears.
"Well, let me meet this husband of yours." She grinned as she looked at Jack. She thought he was absolutely perfect for Elsa. This would be the guy to turn Elsa back into Elsa.
"Hey. Jack Frost." Jack chuckled as he shook Jasmine's hand.
"Jasmine. I'm so glad to finally meet you," Jasmine laughed. Then she leaned over and whispered into Elsa's ear, even though everyone heard. "At least he's cute."
"Ahem. Right here." Aladdin replied, butting into her conversation. Jasmine smiled and quickly let go of his hand.
"Jack this is my husband, Aladdin. Aladdin, this is Elsa's husband, Jack." Jasmine introduced as she pointed to each person. This was absolutely perfect!
"Hey, Jackson." Aladdin head nodded.
"Hey, Aladdin. Long time no see." Jack chuckled as she gave each other a bro hug.
"It feels like we just graduated high school." Aladdin replied as he patted Jack's back. The girls' jaws dropped as they watched the scene unfold in front of them.
"Wait. Wait. You two know each other?" Elsa asked, cocking her perfect eyebrow. This was just crazy.
"Yeah, we were best friends in high school." Jack smirked, lightly punching his friend on the shoulder. Aladdin laughed and rubbed where Jack hit.
"Wow, this is so cool!" Jasmine cheered as she jumped up and down. Jasmine was always super excited.
"Well, would like to come in and have a drink? We have champagne and wine." Elsa offered as she shut the door behind them. Everyone headed to the kitchen, ready for a drink.
"I'll have a glass of wine please." Jasmine smiled as she sat down at the kitchen counter. She tapped her long, blue nails on the counter, so happy with how things were turning out.
"Make that two!" Aladdin chuckled. Suddenly, something pounded on the door. Elsa looked at Jack and smiled.
"I'll get it." Jack chuckled as he headed towards the door. When he opened it, he was greeted by two of his best friends.
"Taylor! Samuel!" Jack cheered as they both quickly enveloped him into a hug best friend hug.
"Hey, Jack! Where's the lovely wife at? I'm soo excited to meet her!" Taylor grinned as she walked around with Samuel right behind her.
"She's in the kitchen. Come in." Jack smiled as he shut the door. Their eyes were wide as they looked around in awe. This place was gorgeous.
"Wow. This place is nice." Samuel signed as he twirled in circles. This place was so fancy.
"Yes. Elsa co-owns the huge fashion company in town." Jack signed back. Samuel nodded his head, realizing how Jack got such a nice place. No way he could afford this all by himself.
"Well, let's go into the kitchen!" Taylor signed with a big smile. She was so excited to finally meet Elsa. She had heard so much about her!
"Hey guys! I'm so glad to finally met you." Elsa smiled as she looked at Jack's friends. The female was wear gin a purple skirt with a cute, green top. She quickly ran over to Elsa, not caring if other people were here.
"Hi! My name's Taylor. I work with Jack at the dealership." Taylor quickly spoke as she shook Elsa's hand. Elsa smiled and nodded her head.
"It's nice to meet you." Elsa chuckled as she prayed that the woman wouldn't shake her hand off.
"Hi! What's your name?" Jasmine asked Samuel. He looked over her lips, trying to see what she said, but she was speaking too fast.
"Hello. You must be Samuel. I'm so glad to finally met you." Elsa signed, trying to take away the awkward situation from Jasmine. Samuel's face lit up as he watched Elsa's delicate, pale hands sign.
"I'm so happy to finally met you too!" Samuel signed with a huge grin. He looked over at Jack signed, "She's a keeper," making Elsa giggle.
"Hey Taylor!" Aladdin smiled.
"Oh my god! You're here too? I haven't seen you in ages! Where have you been hiding?" Taylor exclaimed as quickly gave him a hug.
"I'm here with my wife Jasmine." Aladdin chuckled as they pulled apart. Taylor looked between the two as her jaw dropped lower and lower. No way.
"You married thee Jasmine? The Jasmine that makes those incredibly gorgeous summer dresses?" Taylor awed as she ran her hands down her face. This was crazy.
"Yeah." Aladdin chuckled.
"And I'm in her presence. Oh my god! I absolutely love your latest work!" Taylor gasped as a smile was growing on her face. This wasn't crazy, this was insane!
"Thank you." Jasmine chuckled.
"Oh would you two like something to drink? We have champagne, wine, and beer." Jack smiled as he heads toward the fridge.
"I'll take a beer." Taylor smiled.
"Beer please." Samuel signed.
"Two beers coming right up!" Jack smiled as he handed his guests their drinks.
"Did you hear the latest news?" Jasmine suddenly asked, making everyone turn and look at her. Jasmine had all of the gossip and everyone wanted in.
"What?" Elsa replied, leaning over the counter, a glass of red wine in her pale hands. Jasmine grinned, glad to have everyone's attention. She loved having all eyes on her.
"You know that guy Cindy's been chasing after for the last couple months?" Jasmine asked. Cindy had been bragging about this dude she thought would be a perfect husband. She never should them any pictures though, so they had no idea if he was even real.
"Yeah. Don't tell me, he's moved away so we can never see him." Elsa grumbled. That was Cindy's usual excuse for whenever they asked to meet him. She never had any prove he was real.
"Nope! Turns out he married her coworker!" Jasmine exclaimed, slightly slapping the counter.
"You're kidding me, right?" Elsa asked, a smile growing in her face. This was just hilarious. The one man that's actually real is now married to her coworker. What a coincidence!
"I am not! Look, her coworker had a picture off her and her new husband on her desk and Cindy snuck a photo of it so we could see." Jasmine smiled, pulling up the photo.
"Let me see!" Elsa exclaimed as she looked over at Jasmine's iPhone 6s Plus. When she looked at it closer her jaw dropped. It was a picture of Rapunzel and Eugene. "She wants Eugene?" Elsa stated, her face scrunched in confusion.
"Wait. You know this guy?" Jasmine asked. She had never seen this couple in her life. How could Elsa know them? Jasmine goes everywhere with Elsa.
"They're on the tv show with us. Jack come look at this." Elsa commanded, waving her hand at him. He had to see this. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Isn't that Rapunzel and Eugene?" Jack asked. He wasn't listening to Jasmine's and Elsa's conversation. He was talking to Taylor, Samuel, and Aladdin.
"Yes! Why do you think Eugene volunteered for the show if he had Cindy chasing him down?" Elsa questioned, looking at her husband and her best friend.
"Come on Els, don't you think it would be kind of annoying having Cindy flirt with you every single day? Maybe he came on the show to get away from her?" Jasmine offered. Jasmine knew she wasn't the only one who found Cindy annoying after awhile.
"It would make sense, but it's only caused him a bigger mess. This time, it will be harder to get her off." Elsa groaned, handing Jasmine back her phone. Eugene just caused a huge mess.
"No kidding. But, oh well. It's not our problem!" Jasmine smiled, shrugging her shoulders.
"Aren't we lucky?" Elsa replied, rolling her eyes. Everyone continued to have a good time until it was late. Everyone went home because they had work in the morning. Jack was just about to get into bed when Elsa came into his room.
"Hey Jack." Elsa stated, looking down at the floor as she leaned again his doorway.
"Yes honey?" Jack teased
"Would like to stay with me tonight?" Elsa asked, biting her lip quickly afterwards.
"I thought you would never ask." Jack smirked.
~Rapunzel and Eugene~
"I'm sorry, Martha, but he's very busy right now. Yes, I'll be sure to tell Eugene you called. Again, I'm so sorry. Bye-bye." Rapunzel stated into the phone. That was the fourth time that day Eugene's mother had called trying to talk to him. How did she even get their house number?
"Who was that Punz?" Eugene asked from his office.
"Who do you think?" Rapunzel groaned, running her hand through her brown locks.
"The maintenance guy. I mean, if you want to go out with him, don't let me stop you." Eugene teased. He knew who was really on the phone. He had been putting his mother off since Sunday morning. Rapunzel knew the routine. Tell his mother that he was busy, say she's sorry, then say she'll tell him she called. Martha called almost every hour.
"Har, har. Very funny, Eugene." She smiled, sarcasm dripping from her lips. She peeked her head into his office, leaning against the doorway.
"What? You don't like big, sweaty men trying to fix your sink every chance they get?" He chuckled. Earlier that week, they had a maintenance guy come work on their sink and he kept hitting on Rapunzel. After he left, she told Eugene how creepy she thought he was.
"Eww! No!" Rapunzel whined, scrunching her nose in complete disgust. She wouldn't even dream of it. The maintenance guy was so disgusting.
"Oooh! So do you like it when they buy pants a size too big and you see their-"
"Stop!! You don't need to say anymore!" Rapunzel shouted as she playfully covered Eugene's mouth. She didn't need to hear anymore. She didn't need that picture in her mind...ever.
"I'm just teasing you!" He grinned as he pushed her hand away. Rapunzel stood over his shoulder, admiring how much work he was putting into his comic. He really wanted it to turn out well.
"So umm Eugene. Do you know what day it is?" Rapunzel questioned as she tapped her fingers on his shoulder. She hoped he didn't forget. I mean, it was kind of important.
"It's Tuesday." Eugene replied, not making eye contact with her. He couldn't think of anything important that happened on a Tuesday. He really hoped that he wasn't suppose to do something important.
"Well, I know that silly goose. What I meant was, do you remember what we did two weeks ago on this day?" She asked. Eugene thought as hard as he could to remember what he was supposed to do. He's only spent two weeks with Rapunzel. How could he forget something so important?
"It's the day we...." Eugene thought out loud. He was trying to read Rapunzel's face as he spoke his mind. Rapunzel moved her hands in a circle, telling him to continue. "....we looked at this house?" He finished, although it came out more like a question.
"Yes, but do remember what we did later that night?" She continued. She figured that was all he remembered. He slowly shook his head no as she sighed, ashamed that her husband couldn't even remember something that happened two weeks ago. "Well, you know Jason?" She began. Suddenly, everything flooding back to Eugene's mind.
"We have to go get our money back!" Eugene exclaimed as he stood up from his desk, pushing back his chair. How could he forget this?
"Yes!" Rapunzel cheered, as she clapped her hands.
"Let's go. Right now." He declared as he dragged Rapunzel by the wrist towards the door. She resisted, trying not to let him pull her away, but he was too strong and too determined.
"Wait. Wait. What are we going to defend ourselves with? For all we know, he could be waiting for us to arrive so he could attack us." Rapunzel argued as he dragged her towards the door. He stopped and tapped his chin. That was a good point.
"Does that seem like something Jason would do?" He asked. He didn't know much about this Jason guy. All Eugene knew was that Jason was a stealing jerk.
"I don't know anymore. I never thought he would steal from me, but it just goes to show that you can't trust everyone." Rapunzel muttered, rubbing her arm as she looked to the side. She didn't want to talk about that again.
"Well, then I guess we'll have to be prepared. Let's grab a knife or something." Eugene stated as he rummaged through the drawers. There had to be something in here to protect them.
"Wait! They'll be suspicious if we bring a knife into the apartment building." She exclaimed as she grabbed his wrists, stopping him from grabbing a knife. He nodded his head and shut the drawer.
"True. But what should we bring instead?" He fired back, curiosity present in his voice. He wanted to be safe, but carrying a gun or knife into the building would be too risky.
"This!" Rapunzel cheered as she pulled out a frying pan.
"That? You think that will protect us?" Eugene questioned as he pointed at the black, shiny pan.
"Mh-hm and people won't be suspicious of a frying pan with a bow on it. It will look like a house warming gift." Rapunzel smirked. She knew she was right. Eugene was surprised by her cleverness.
"Let's do it!" Eugene smiled as they hopped onto his motorcycle. They sped to the apartment building and walked in with no problems. They knocked on his door since there was a person nearby.
"Hello?" Jason asked as he opened the door.
"Jason, baby. How you doin'?" Rapunzel asked as she walked in. She left the door open a crack so Eugene could sneak in.
"Hey Rap. Say, are you drunk?" Jason asked.
"No baby, I just miss you. I hope you can forgive me for whatever I did to you." Rapunzel begged with her biggest puppy dog eyes.
"Oh Rapunzel. I missed you, too." Jason smiled as rubbed her cheek. Suddenly, Jason backed away slowly. "You!" He stuttered as he shakily pointed behind Rapunzel.
"What's wrong, Jason? Don't you remember, Eugene?" Rapunzel asked in her sweetest voice.
"Why is he here? I thought you wanted me back!" Jason exclaimed as he placed his back against the wall.
"Seriously, Jason? You thought I would come crawling back to you after what you've done to me? God, I can't believe how gullible you are! You always called me naive, gullible, immature, and sloppy. But look at you. Isn't that what you are?" Rapunzel exclaimed. She was letting out all her anger she had towards the man who broke her heart. And this time, she wasn't afraid of what he would do to her. She had her husband on her side and he would make sure Jason would never hurt her again.
"I am not gullible! I'm not sloppy or immature!" Jason shouted.
"Really? Cause if I look around here you seem sloppy for the way you clean up after yourself. You seem gullible for actually believing Rapunzel. And you seem immature for stealing from your girlfriend then kicking out her out." Eugene replied. He couldn't believe the way Jason acted to Rapunzel.
"I rest my case!" Rapunzel smiled as she crossed her arms.
"That doesn't prove anything!" Jason yelled.
"Look we didn't come here to discuss what you're like. We came here for our money back." Eugene said as he rolled his eyes.
"Why would I pay you back?" Jason chuckled. Eugene reached over and smacked him with the frying pan.
"Oww!" Jason cried.
"Just give us our money." Rapunzel demanded.
"No! I don't have it!" Jason shouted. Rapunzel looked at Eugene and rolled her eyes. Eugene smirked and hit Jason on the head again.
"Give. Us. The. Money!" Eugene shouted getting close to Jason's face. Eugene knew how to intimidate people.
"Okay! Okay! It's underneath the cupboard." Jason frowned. Rapunzel quickly ran over to the cupboard and pulled out tons of cash money. She quickly counted it out as Eugene continued to interrogate Jason.
"Are you going to stop using Rapunzel's credit card?" Eugene asked.
"Yes! But only if you promise not to come back ever again." Jason cried. Eugene couldn't believe he made a thirty year old man cry.
"Sure." Eugene replied as he rolled his eyes.
"Ready to go?" Rapunzel asked.
"Let's leave. Bye Jason!" Eugene smiled. They slammed the door shut and walked down to the parking lot. "Did you see him crying?" Eugene laughed.
"Yeah, it was pretty funny." Rapunzel chuckled. But she had something else on her mind.
"It felt awesome having that much power. Maybe I should quit my job and beco-" Eugene blabbered until he was cut off by kiss from Rapunzel. He looked down at her surprised. Usually he made the first move.
"Thanks. For everything." Rapunzel blushed.
"Well, you are my wife." Eugene chuckled. Rapunzel smiled looking up at him with her large, emerald green eyes. They hopped onto his motorcycle and drove home with their $2,400 and the thought of their first kiss.
~Anna and Kristoff~
"Kristoff! Can you please take Sven out for a walk?" Anna asked. It was raining cats and dogs all day and it was Anna's turn to walk Sven.
"Isn't it your turn?" Kristoff asked.
"Nooooo." Anna said, emphasizing that she was lying. Kristoff playfully glared at her.
"You just don't want to go out in the rain." Kristoff smiled.
"What? No, no. I just....I have work." Anna stuttered.
"Sure. And what are you going to work on? Is Olaf sick?" Kristoff teased.
"Fine, you caught me. I don't want to get wet." Anna sighed. Kristoff chuckled.
"Alright, but only for today. But that means that you have to do the dishes." Kristoff agreed.
"Deal." Anna smiled.
"And it better be done by the time I get back." Kristoff replied as he put on his coat.
"Okay, okay. Dad!" Anna teased.
"Bye! See you soon." Kristoff smiled as he shut the door. Anna watched him walk Sven down the sidewalk. He turned left instead of right. That meant Kristoff was taking the long way. Anna figured she had about fifteen minutes. So she decided to spend about five of it watching her show. Well, five minutes turned into ten, then ten turned into fifteen and suddenly, Kristoff walked through the door.
"Kristoff, you're home." Anna nervously smiled.
"Yeah, and let me tell you. It is absolutely pouring out there." Kristoff explained.
"Maybe you should go change, you know. Take all the time you need." Anna replied as she pushed Kristoff towards their bedroom.
"You're acting funny." Kristoff replied.
"Who? Me? Phhh no I'm not. You're acting funny." Anna rambled. Kristoff stopped and looked her in the eyes.
"You haven't done the dishes yet have you?" Kristoff asked.
"Maybe." Anna weakly smiled. Kristoff seemed upset, but he didn't say anything. "I'm sorry. I was only going to watch my show for five minutes. But then, five minutes turned into fifteen and then-"
"And then fifteen turned into twenty. Then twenty turned into a whole season. I get it. You use that same excuse over and over again."
"I'm sorry." Anna apologized.
"Look, here's the thing. I took the long way on purpose so you could do the dishes and still have time for yourself. I did my side of the deal. Why didn't you do yours?" Kristoff asked.
"I don't know." Anna replied. Kristoff rolled his eyes and walked away. "It's not my fault I'm obsessed." Anna defended, but Kristoff just kept walking with Sven close behind him. "Kristoff, don't walk away when we're trying to have a conversation. Kristoff!" Anna shouted. Kristoff didn't reply. He was taught that if you didn't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. He walked into their room and slammed the door shut. He sat on the bed, thinking about what just happened. He knew it wasn't all Anna's fault, but he kept his side of the deal. Why couldn't see keep her's?
Anna felt horrible for not keep her side of the deal. Why couldn't she pull herself away from Netflix? She was scolding herself as she washed the dishes when she heard the sound of a guitar playing. She followed the beautiful sound to their bedroom. She leaned her ear against the door and listened to Kristoff sing. "Wet dogs are better than people. Sven, don't you think that's true? Yeah people will beat you and curse you and cheat you. Every one of them's bad, except you. Aww thanks buddy. But people smell better than wet dogs. Sven, don't you I'm right? That's once again true, for all except you. You got me, let's call it a night. Goodnight." Kristoff sang. Anna gently opened the door.
"Nice duet." Anna smiled.
"Oh, you heard that." Kristoff smiled as he ruffled his hair.
"Yeah, it was wonderful. I didn't know you played." Anna replied as she pointed to his guitar.
"Yeah. I've been playing ever since I was little." Kristoff explained.
"Could you teach me?" Anna asked.
"Sure. Come here. Okay, so this is a C cord." Kristoff explained.
~Merida and Hiccup~
"Can ye make dinner tonight?" Merida begged.
"I made it yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that." Hiccup rambled.
"Fine, fine. I'll do it." Merida grumbled as she stood up from the couch. She had a horrible headache but she didn't want to complain to Hiccup.
"What are you making?" Hiccup asked.
"Dats for me ta know and for you ta find out." Merida spat. Hiccup walked into the living, knowing that Merida was in bad mood and that he shouldn't anger her anymore. Suddenly Merida sneezed.
"God bless you." Hiccup replied. Merida wiped her nose when Hiccup was looking. Merida could not let him know she wasn't feeling good. Suddenly, she sneezed again. "God bless you again." Hiccup chuckled.
"I think I'm allergic to something." Merida chuckled. She knew it wasn't true. She finished making dinner and placed it onto the table. "Here's your meal." Merida declared. Hiccup walked into the kitchen and found a plate of pizza. At least she tried. Hiccup thought.
"Looks good." Hiccup smiled. They sat down at the table and Merida started coughing. "Merida, are you feeling okay?" Hiccup asked.
"Yes Hiccup. I'm just fine." Merida replied. Hiccup frowned and continued eating. He didn't believe her for one second. Merida cleaned up the kitchen and followed Hiccup into the living room so they could watch The Walking Dead when Merida started sneezing.
"God bless you." Hiccup frowned.
"Thanks." Merida sniffed. Hiccup reached over and handed her the tissues. They continued watching their show to only be interrupted by one of Merida's coughing fits.
"Merida, I don't think you're feeling well." Hiccup worried.
"Hiccup stop worrying about me." Merida scolded. Hiccup furrowed his eyebrows together. He really didn't think she was feeling good. He grabbed a blanket from the drawer and covered her up. Merida thanked him and continued watching the show. Suddenly, Merida stood up and ran to the bathroom. She slammed the door shut and Hiccup heard her throwing up.
"Merida, are you alright?" Hiccup asked.
"No." Merida frowned. She hated admitting defeat.
"Please just come out and I'll take care of you." Hiccup replied. He heard the door unlocked and it opened, showing a pale Merida. He led her to the couch and covered her up with a blanket. He gave her the tissues and went into the kitchen. He decided to make her chicken soup, even though it was 10:30 at night. He gave her the warm bowl of soup and a glass of Seven Up.
"Hiccup, why are you doing this?" Merida asked.
"Because you're my wife." He explained.
"That's not an excuse. You're my husband but I make you sleep on the couch." Merida argued.
"I guess it's because I like you. I don't like seeing you in pain or hurting." Hiccup informed. This was the first time Merida heard that he liked her.
"You-you like me?" Merida asked.
"Of course I do. If I didn't I would have divorced you two weeks ago." Hiccup chuckled. Merida reached over and kissed Hiccup on the cheek.
"Thank you. No one's ever treated me this way before or has ever admitted to liking me." Merida blushed.
"I'm only speaking the truth." Hiccup smiled. Merida weakly smiled then shut her eyes. She feel asleep with a tummy full of warm, chicken noodle soup. She was happy that someone other than her family actually cared for her.
