~Merida and Hiccup~
"Merida," Hiccup called out. "Astrid wants me to go out and have a drink with her." He explained, sorting his papers into a neat pile on the kitchen table.
"Okay. Is it just you and Asturd or what?" Merida asked, turning around and leaning her shoulder on the back of the couch. She loved her new nickname for Astrid, even though it bothered Hiccup. She thought it was clever on her part.
"No, we're going with other coworkers." Hiccup replied, shrugging his shoulder.
"Good. Because if it was just you and Asturd-"
"Astrid."
"Whatever," Merida scoffed, rolling her blue eyes. "then I wouldn't let you leave."
"Trust me. I don't want to go." Hiccup chuckled, running his fingers through his thick hair. Going out for drinks was the last thing on his mind. Especially with his coworkers.
"Then why are you going? Why don't you stand up for yourself and say no?" She countered, furrowing her eyebrows. Something about Hiccup being forced to something he didn't like didn't set right with her. Why doesn't he speak up when he doesn't want to do something?
"Because I told her I was going." He reasoned, slightly shaking his head at her and raising his shoulders.
"Come on, Hiccup. You can't always use that excuse. Don't go. Let's see what she'll say! Why don't you do what you want? Why do you let everyone push around?" Merida exclaimed, now kneeling on the couch.
"Because I can't stand up for myself!" He fired back, startling Merida. She had never seen him shout, let alone raise his voice the whole time she's lived with him. He was also so calm and collected.
"I can teach you," She offered, her voice softer now. "I promise, it's not hard and you'll quickly learn-"
"No, you can't. Everyone has tried to help me. Nothing works." Hiccup sighed, rolling his green eyes. He was mad at himself. Everyone else could figure out how to tell others what they wanted. Why couldn't he?
"What do you think the problem is?" She asked, her blue eyes studying him.
"I think I'm too nice. Whenever someone asks me to do something for them, I can't say no." He answered, tiredness now present in his voice. Obviously other people have beaten him on this subject, too.
"It's okay, Hiccup. It just means you have a big heart." Merida comforted, giving a soft smile.
"But I don't want a big heart. It makes me look...." He stumbled, moving his hands in circles, trying to think of what to say.
"Weak." Merida finished. Hiccup looked at her, feeling embarrassed. Merida would never know how he felt. She could always stand up for herself. She wasn't afraid of everyone's opinions.
"Yeah. Just like in grade school, middle school, and high school. The only place I didn't feel weak was at college." Hiccup explained, slightly chuckling as he leaned back into the chair.
"Why?"
"Because everyone in my classes wanted the same things as me. Everyone wanted their teaching degrees in elementary history." He softly smiled, resting his arm on the table and leaning his head into his hand.
"What's it like at work? Doesn't everyone at the school want to teach students?" She suddenly asked, the thought bursting into her head.
"Not particularly. I feel like I'm the only one who takes my job seriously."
"How come?"
"I think it's because I'm one of the few who actually loves teaching. I love filling people with knowledge that they never knew before. I just- I don't know, it feels amazing." Hiccup rambled.
Merida got up and wandered to him. Gently, she placed a hand on his shoulder. "Let's make a deal. If I help you to overcome this, you can teach me whatever you want. It can be about anything, taxes, politics, and even something your obsessed with." She offered.
"I'll take that deal." Hiccup grinned. This whole situation was a win-win. He could possibly learn how to stand up for himself and get to teach Merida about anything she wanted.
"Alright. Now, my first step for standing up for yourself is not going out tonight." Merida devilishly smiled at him.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked, arching his eyebrow at her.
"Positive. Don't show up and when they ask you about it on Monday, say you didn't feel like going."
"Okay."
"Now, what do you want to teach me?"
"I was actually thinking about trying to find us a new apartment." Hiccup blushed.
"Why? What's wrong with mine?" Merida asked offended.
"Nothing! Nothing! I just thought we would want something that allows pets." Hiccup stuttered. Merida calm down and thought about it.
"Like somewhere we can keep Angus and Toothless?" Merida asked.
"Yeah. I just figured it would feel more at home if we could keep our pets." Hiccup explained.
"That's actually a good idea. You search for apartments in Berk while I make us some popcorn." Merida commanded. Hiccup quickly typed on his laptop and he listened to the sound of popcorn popping in the microwave. Soon, he smelt fresh, buttered popcorn. Merida plopped onto the couch beside him, munching her popcorn. She offered him the bowl as he took a handful of popcorn. She smiled and cuddled up to him.
"Does this place look okay?" Hiccup asked.
"Looks kind of small. It only has one bedroom, which happens to be in the living room." Merida replied. Hiccup shrugged his shoulders and continued searching. "Wait. What about that one?" Merida asked as she pointed on the screen. Hiccup quickly clicked on the link which led to a nice, big apartment in Berk.
"Has plenty of space. Two rooms and one bathroom." Hiccup said.
"And it's pet friendly." Merida smiled.
"Do you think this is the place for us?" Hiccup asked.
"It says we can check it out tomorrow. Want to see what it has to offer?" Merida questioned.
"Sure." Hiccup smiled. Soon, his phone started buzzing. He quickly picked it up and saw that Astrid was trying to call him.
"Let me guess, is it Asturd?" Merida smirked.
"You know her so well." Hiccup chuckled. He picked up the phone and walked into the kitchen.
"HICCUP! WHERE ARE YOU?" Astrid yelled into the phone.
"I'm at my apartment." Hiccup replied. He could hear music blasting in the background.
"Why? You do realize that it's 10:30 now, right?" Astrid asked.
"I know. I just didn't feel like coming." Hiccup answered.
"What? But now I'm the only one!" Astrid cried.
"Sorry. I just did feel like going out tonight." Hiccup replied.
"Well you could have warned me." Astrid reasoned.
"I figured it wouldn't have matter if everyone else was there."
"No one else wanted to come."
"Maybe it's because you didn't invite them."
"Hiccup-"
"Night Astrid, see you at school on Monday." Hiccup spat as he ended the call. He looked at Merida for approve and she was smiling.
"Way ta go Hic!" Merida cheered.
"Thanks Mer." Hiccup smiled.
~Rapunzel and Eugene~
Eugene arrived home early from work since it was Friday. He walked in and saw that Rapunzel wasn't home. He figured she was out getting groceries before the girls came so he wasn't too worried. Soon, he heard a knock at the door and saw his sister, Jessica, with her two girls. "Hey!" Eugene greeted as he opened the door.
"Hi, Eugene." Everyone replied.
"Hello, Lauren. Hiya, Lindsay." Eugene replied as he looked at the girls.
"Okay, here's Lindsay's car seat in case you need to take her anywhere while they're here. Here's a foldable high chair, you'll just need to hook it onto the table place her in it. This is a playpen. Lindsay can sleep in there. Here's her diaper bag. Lauren has her suitcase with all of their clothes and stuffed animals. Oh, and I'll go grab the snack bag. I'll be right back." Jessica replied as she ran back to her gray minivan.
"So, Lauren, how old are you now?" Eugene asked.
"I'm six." Lauren answered.
"How old are you, Lindsay?" Eugene questioned. She held up three fingers.
"No! You're not three. You're two!" Lauren laughed as she fixed her little sister's fingers.
"Here you go, Eugene. I have fruit snacks, granola bars, juice boxes, you name it. Bed time is around 9:30. Make sure they brush their teeth. And no p-o-p." Jessica explained as Lauren stood there, trying to understand what her mother spelt.
"Got it." Eugene nodded.
"Is Rapunzel home? I've been wanting to meet her for a while now." Jessica smiled.
"I'm not sure where she is. You can always see her tomorrow. " Eugene answered.
"Good idea. Well, be good girls!" Jessica smiled as she kissed both of their heads. She walked back to her car as Eugene and the girls stood on the deck. "Bye!" Jessica called as she waved out her window.
"Bye!" They replied as they waved goodbye until she was out of sight.
"Well, should we go inside?" Eugene asked as he picked up Lindsay.
"I've never seen your house. Does it have a tv?" Lauren asked.
"Of course." Eugene laughed.
"Does it have Netflix? Because then me and Lindsay can watch a movie before bed."
"Yes, we have Netflix." Eugene chuckled as he opened the door.
"Wow, this place is better than grandma and grandpa's."
"Thanks." Eugene replied as he sat Lindsay down in the living room.
"Sometimes Lindsay puts her shoes on the wrong feet. It's really funny." Lauren giggled.
"Lauren, are you in kindergarten?" Eugene asked.
"Yeah, but I don't like school." Lauren explained.
"Why?" Eugene chuckled.
"Because there's too many kids! I always have to wait in line for the slide and recess isn't long enough. Plus, my friend, Sarah, she only likes the color blue and I like the color pink." Lauren rambled.
"Wow. So, do you want to met Pascal and Max?" Eugene asked.
"Who's Pascal?" Lauren asked.
"Max!" Lindsay laughed. Eugene chuckled and scooped Lindsay up. He placed her on his hip and held Lauren's hand as they walked to the spare bedroom. He opened the door and let them pet Max and feed Pascal some fruit. Soon, it was time to feed the girls supper so he ordered them a pizza.
"I hope you got cheese because Lindsay doesn't like pepperonis." Lauren stated.
"I figured." Eugene smiled.
"Sometimes I do." Lindsay replied from her high chair.
"Sometimes." Lauren answered. Immediately, the door bell rang. Max started barking, making Lindsay cry.
"Max. Quiet." Eugene commanded as picked up Lindsay and walked to the door. He paid for the pizza and set it on the table. He gave Lauren a slice then cut up Lindsay's into tiny pieces. By the time they finished supper, it was already 7:30. Eugene was starting to wonder where Rapunzel was so he cleaned up the girls and called Rapunzel.
"Your call has forwarded to an automatic voice message system-" Eugene heard as he ended the call. He groaned and walked back into the living room and sat on the couch. It wasn't like Rapunzel to ignore him.
"Uncle Eugene, can we watch a movie now?" Lauren begged.
"Sure, but first we'll put on our pajamas so if you fall asleep you can just go to bed." Eugene replied. He changed Lindsay's diaper and put her into her pajamas while Lauren changed into her pink pajamas and brushed her teeth.
"Look! We're both wearing our monkey pajamas!" Lauren awed as she pointed to their monkeys.
"What movie are we going to watch?" Eugene asked.
"Prince of Egypt!" Lauren cheered. Eugene chuckled and turned it on. Eventually, the movie ended and Lauren was asleep on the floor. Eugene looked at the clock and saw it was 9:00 and Rapunzel wasn't home yet. He called her again and again, but she still didn't answer. Eugene sighed and placed Lauren in their bed since Rapunzel hadn't returned with the air mattress yet. He sat on the couch with Lindsay, calling Rapunzel every half hour. Eventually, Eugene heard the door open and listened to the sound of heels clicking on the kitchen tiles at 11:30. Eugene placed Lindsay in her playpen and ran into the kitchen and brought Rapunzel into a huge hug.
"Oh my god, Rapunzel! Do you know how big of a heart attack you gave me? I thought something happened to you! Where were you? Why wouldn't you answer your phone?" Eugene exclaimed as he continued to hug her as she hugged back.
"Eugene, I'm fine. Sorry I scared you so badly. Ariel wanted to take me out shopping. I said I would go and she came and picked me up. After, she took me to dinner and asked if I wanted a drink. I said no, but she was the driver so she drove us to a bar. While we were there, my phone died. Soon, Ariel left with a man and I was left stranded. I used someone's phone to call a taxi but they never showed up. So I had to walk a mile in heels." Rapunzel explained.
"Next time, leave a note. God, I was so worried about you." Eugene sighed. Rapunzel smiled. She liked seeing Eugene's protective side. When she first meet him, he acted like he could care less about her. Now, he was worried sick about her.
"Eugene, I have a question for you." Rapunzel said.
"Shoot."
"Where are the girls? I still have to air up the air mattress."
"Umm the girls are sleeping in our room." Eugene chuckled. Rapunzel smiled then she kissed his cheek. She got ready for bed as Eugene aired up the air mattress. They went to bed on the air mattress while Lauren slept in their bed and Lindsay slept in the playpen.
~Elsa and Jack~
"Jack, are you almost ready?" Elsa asked as she put on her diamond earrings. Tonight was a huge celebration party for the new addition. They were going to talk about what it would be used for and such.
"Just a sec!" Jack replied as he fixed his tux. He didn't want Elsa to be embarrassed of him. After all, this was all new to him. Jack walked into the living room and saw Elsa messing with her wedding ring.
"Okay. Let's go!" Elsa smirked as she opened the door. She shut off the lights and locked the door as Jack walked out of the room. They rode the elevator down to the main floor and got in Elsa's silver car. They drove out of the parking lot and to the restaurant.
"So how am I supposed to act at this party?" Jack asked.
"Like your normal self?" Elsa replied, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I mean, what am I supposed to drink? How am I supposed to talk to talk people? What do they like to talk about?" Jack nervously rambled.
"Umm, order wine. Talk to them like you're talking to the president of the United States and talk about whatever they bring up." Elsa answered.
"Okay. Sounds simple. I think I can handle it." Jack mumbled.
"Jack, do I look okay?" Elsa asked. She felt like she put on too much makeup. She also thought her black dress showed more than she wanted. It hugged her hips a little too tight in her opinion and it had a slit, showing off her legs. It didn't help that the top was a little low for her liking, meaning she constantly had to pull it up.
"Elsa, I think you look stunning, gorgeous, and beautiful." Jack replied.
"Jack, I'm being serious. Tell me the truth." Elsa said sternly.
"I am. I'm not lying." Jack answered.
"Really?" Elsa questioned.
"Really! I don't care if you're wearing a dress from the 300's. I will always think you look perfect." Jack smiled. He truly felt that way too. This was the first time he actually admitted to not only Elsa, but to himself that he liked her.
"Thank you." Elsa blushed. Elsa couldn't believe what Jack said. She never knew he actually liked her. She always thought he just tolerated her. Soon, they pulled into the parking lot and park the car.
"Ready?" Jack asked. Elsa took a deep breath and nodded. She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened her car door. They walked into the expensive, fancy restaurant. They saw plenty of people in stunning outfits that were made by the company.
"Good evening, Elsa." A short man greeted.
"Good evening, Mr. Weselton." Elsa replied. She personally didn't like Duke. She thought he was up to no good, but his recent designs earned them millions, making it hard to fire him.
"And who's this?" Duke asked.
"This is my husband, Jackson." Elsa smiled.
"Nice to meet you, Jackson. I'm Duke Weselton."
"Please, call me Jack." Jack smiled as he politely shook Duke's hand.
"Miss Delle!" A waiter yelled as he ran up to her.
"Please, call me Mrs. Frost." Elsa smiled.
"Mrs. Frost, we have a table reserved for you and your guest." The waiter explained.
"Thank you. Could you please led us there?" Elsa asked. The waiter nodded and led them to a fancy table that already had Jasmine and Aladdin seated there.
"Jack! Elsa!" Aladdin cheered.
"Hi, Aladdin! It's so nice to see you again!"
"You did a wonderful job decorating." Jasmine complimented. Their conversation was cut short to the sound of clinking glass.
"May I have everyone's attention please!" The hostess requested. Jack quickly pulled out Elsa's chair for her, receiving a quiet thank you. He pushed her back in and sat down in his spot. "Now, as you all know, we are here to celebrate the brand new addition to Delle Clothing Line. And let me tell you, it was a long, hard road, but it will be worth it." The hostess cheered. Everyone followed with loud claps and whistles. Jack didn't listen to rest as he was becoming bored.
"Jack." Elsa whispered.
"Huh? What?" Jack mumbled.
"You were day dreaming." Elsa giggled.
"Sorry." Jack replied.
"You've got a little drool." Elsa whispered as she wiped a corner of her mouth. Jack quickly wiped his mouth, only to make Elsa laugh.
"What's so funny?" Jack asked.
"There really wasn't any drool." Elsa laughed. Jack playfully rolled his eyes at her.
"Dinner is served." Waiters proclaimed as they set a plate in front of everyone. When they lifted the silver top, they revealed a gorgeous plate of chicken tetrazzini. Multiple ooos and ahhs were heard from around the table. The waiters smiled and walked away.
"Well, shall we eat?" Jasmine questioned.
"Um-hum." Everyone replied as they licked their lips. Everyone dug into their meals, savoring every bite. They ate until they were full. Soon, they heard more clinking of glass and they looked towards the stage.
"How's the meal?" The hostess asked. Everyone replied that it was delicious, wonderful, stupendous, and good. "That's great! Now, I would like to call someone very special up to the stage. Please welcome, Jasmine Ali!"
"Thank you. I would like...." Jasmine stated as Jack went back into day dreaming. He just couldn't concentrate. "...my best friend in the whole wide world, Elsa Frost!" Jasmine cheered. Elsa stood up, walking towards the stage.
"Go get 'um tiger." Jack teased as he slapped her butt. She gasped as she turned around, making Jack chuckle. She slowly shook her head with a small smile. She knew he was just teasing her. She gracefully walked up the stage.
"Thank you everyone!" Elsa smiled. "Now tonight is a very special....."
~Anna and Kristoff~
"Anna, you don't need to be very fancy tonight. It's just a party thing down at the bar." Kristoff chuckled.
"Well, I don't want to embarrass you. All of Elsa's work parties are extremely formal." Anna explained.
"Those are fancy fashion designers. I work for a construction company. There's nothing fancy about it."
"Good point. Alright, I guess I better change again." Anna giggled as she changed into something less formal. She walked unit the living room, fixing her bracelet.
"Shall we?" Kristoff teased as he opened the door for her.
"We shall." Anna giggled as she walked through the door. She hopped into the passenger side and let Kristoff drive. Eventually, they made it to the bar. They walked in and were greeted by plenty of workers.
"Hey, Kristoff, who this little lady?"
"Ooo. She's real purty!"
"Can I have her after you?"
"Enough!" Kristoff shouted. Everyone stopped and looked at him confused. Kristoff hardly ever raises his voice. He was seen as the calm, cool, collected guy. When something's ticked him off, that's when you've known you've done something wrong. "Everyone, this is my wife, Anna." Kristoff introduced.
"Hello." Anna greeted. She was thankful that Kristoff didn't let anymore creepy compliments come her way. They wandered around the place, Kristoff introducing her to people she would forget by tomorrow. They soon sat down and ordered something to eat.
"Anna?" A man asked. Anna froze up. She knew that voice.
"Hans?" Anna asked as she turned around in her chair. She couldn't believe he found her.
"Anna, I've been looking everywhere for you."
"Funny, I've been trying to avoid you."
"Look, Anna, I know we hit some bumps in the road-"
"More like you hit me." Anna argued.
"Anna, darling-"
"No, Hans." Anna refused. She couldn't believe him. There was two reasons she broke up with one. One, he was abusive to her. Two, she volunteered for the show, but she couldn't tell Hans that.
"Anna, please! I've changed!" Hans begged. He had been chasing her down since the day they broke up. He never truly loved Anna, but she had money. Let's not forget, she was pretty.
"Hans, I don't want to talk about this." Anna mumbled. Kristoff sat there looking dumbfound. He had no idea who this Hans guy was and why he was talking to Anna.
"Anna, let's just get out of here and start over. Let's find somewhere quieter to talk about us." Hans pleaded.
"Why? Don't want people to see you hit me again?" Anna questioned. She felt confident talking back to Hans. She had Kristoff on her side, ready to defended his wife. Well, hopefully.
"Anna, I'm not going to hit you!" Hans exclaimed.
"What do you mean?" Kristoff asked.
"Anna, who's this?" Hans asked, ignoring Kristoff's last question. Anna sighed. She didn't want to introduce Kristoff to Hans. She was afraid that Hans would attack Kristoff, not that he couldn't take him.
"Hans, this is Kristoff. Kristoff, this is Hans." Anna introduced.
"Anna, is this your new boyfriend? Do you honestly think he's better than me?" Hans scoffed. He couldn't believe her. She used to be dating the handsome Hans, and now she was dating some blonde bimbo.
"Sort of." Anna mumbled quietly. Kristoff was confusing why she didn't introduce him as her husband, but he knew she had reasons so he kept his mouth shut.
"Are you like her ex boyfriend?" Kristoff asked.
"Yes, I guess you could say that. But I want to get back together." Hans grumbled as he looked at Anna.
"Well, I don't." Anna replied.
"Why? What did I ever do to you?" Hans questioned.
"You hit me! You brought down my self esteem. Heck, you even told me that my sister was a lying jerk. I knew it wasn't true, but that's all you talked about. You even told me she was stealing from me. You got me into a small depression stage." Anna cried.
"Please, Anna, you were not depressed." Hans chuckled as he rolled his eyes.
"I was until I broke up with you." Anna argued.
"Anna, look, I don't know how you met this Kristoff guy, but he's obviously been telling you stuff. Come on, babe. Do I really look like that type of guy?" Hans questioned. Anna looked at him and felt sick. He had used the same mind game on her over and over again. This time, she wouldn't fall for it.
"Look, I don't want to date you. Plus, I can't." Anna replied.
"What do you mean you can't? Just break up with this loser and come date me! It's actually very simple darling." Hans replied.
"Hans, he's my husband." Anna argued.
"Husband? How long have you been married?" Hans demanded.
"Three weeks tomorrow."
"I see. So you left me two months ago for this loser? Wow, I bet you hardly even know the guy."
"You're right. I do hardly know him, but I do know that he won't attack me or bring me down. He will stand by my side when I need help, something you never did." Anna argued.
"Anna, I just can't believe you."
"Goodbye, Hans. It wasn't nice while it lasted." Anna growled. Hans looked taken back, but knew his place. He walked out of the bar, pushing everyone in his way. Anna felt a kiss on top of her head.
"That's my girl." Kristoff whispered.
