Ch. 52 - you're my girlfriend
Ch. 52 - you're my girlfriend
Levy's POV
Lisanna had dragged me to be her companion since we lost and she was feeling 'out of it' the whole time. She went and bought a bottle of water and started drinking. “Ahh... finally, something fresh for the night.”
“Lisanna, can I ask you something personal?” I asked, looking down to our feet.
She stared back at me and replied. “Depends how personal it is.”
“Are you still in love with Natsu? One answer. I need to know. My bestfriend's been--”
She cleared her throat, stopping me from continuing to speak. “Lev, that's a little offensive.” she suddenly bursts out laughing, trying to hold it all in to become serious again. “I've abandoned my love for him a long time. Ever since the day I wished Lucy good luck, that was a sign that I gave up. I gave him up. I feel nothing right now...” she closes the water bottle and gestured me to go with her. “Let's just go eat. I'm starving.”
I held her arm and looked sympathetically at her. “I'm sorry for accusing you.”
She smiled then, shook her head. “It's fine. I'm used to it. Let's just move on to the present issue, okay?”
I nodded and faked a smile. “Alright.”
Lucy's POV
“Juvia has never tasted something like liquor before!” Juvia suddenly pranced around as she was humming happily, seeking for Gray while the three of us left at the table kept eating and pretending nothing happened when Gajeel actually tricked Juvia into thinking it was real liquor when it was just apple juice, really.
“She is one heck of an idiot.” Gajeel commented as he continued eating his dish.
“But, Juvia's actually great in academics. Maybe love is just what makes her feel this way.” my eyes widened when I suddenly remembered Natsu's team lost. I want to go see him in the other room.
A tissue touched the tip of my lips, making me look up to see Sting wiping the spaghetti stain off it. “Are you a kid? How can you eat like this?”
I suddenly felt my cheeks burn up, remembering Natsu's kiss. I took the tissue from Sting and wiped them on my own. “I-I can do that on my own, thanks...”
He lifted a brow at me but, later on, just shrugged it off and started eating again. I stood up from my seat, excusing myself. “I'm just gonna go look for Natsu. You guys can just stick here and eat, okay? I'll be right back.”
Gajeel and Sting didn't seem to mind as they continued to eat while I walk away from them. As I started looking around, I saw Levy eating with Lisanna so, I went over towards them and asked, “Have you guys seen Natsu?”
Lisanna coughed before speaking. “Oh, I think he went arguing with Gray. I don't know where they went, though.”
Levy shrugged, “You could just text him, Lucy.” she suddenly smirked at the idea.
I pouted, looking down on myself and shook my head. "N-No... I-I don't think it wouls be appropriate..."
Levy lifted a brow at me and held me by my arm. "What are you talking about? It's only Natsu. Wait, did something happen between you two?"
I had to look at Lisanna first to see if she would move or not. Unexpectedly, she dropped her fork and scoffed. "Come on! I've moved on for goodness' sake!" she took her tray then moved to another table across us.
I sighed, closing my eyes. "Natsu and I... like each other."
Levy nodded as if it wasn't news for her. "Yeah...? So, what happened?"
I stared at her in awe. "Well, he confessed to me earlier. And now... I-I don't know what to do...."
Levy suddenly bursted out laughing, making veins pop out of my head. "What are you laughing about?!" I tucked my hands together across my chest and pouted. "How could you laugh at a serious issue, Levy?!"
"No--" she snickered. After a few minutes of giggling, she finally calms down and stared. "I've been trying to tell you how much he likes you and now..." she sighs, patting me on the shoulder. "I'm... so... terribly... happy for both of you!"
She started jumping up and down energetically, running outside the restaurant, not caring about the eyes of the people attached on her. I looked away and pretended not to know her.
“Hey,”
My heart started beating faster than ever. Especially when I immediately noticed that it was Natsu's voice. I accidentally ended up splashing myself with the glass of water in front of me.
His eyebrows furrowed when he saw the wer shirt. “Luce, I can, uh... see your bra.” he admitted, making me blush and cover my chest with my arms.
“Don't look at me!” I shrieked in panic mode, looking away from him. Instead of looking away, he took my wrist before I could leave, stopping me to my station.
“Wait, no! Come on, I'll help you.” he assured, taking off his shirt, placing it on top of my head. “There. You should wear it.”
I lifted a brow, covering my chest with his shirt. “You know, we could've used the time to find a towel instead of going shirtless in public! You are freaking the customers out.”
I quickly took precaution and pulled Natsu out of the restaurant then, walked past the bridge. I could feel my hands becoming sweaty, so, I let go of him and continued walking towards my room. After changing, I went out and saw Natsu by the terrace of the hotel. I gave him his shirt back without even lookong at him. “T-Thank you...”
He gladly accepts his shirt back with an 'okay' as a reply. Things became quiet between us after that. I didn't know what to talk about. Both of us just stared at the sky without a sound.
“Natsu,” right at the exact moment when he turned to face me, I was about to slap myself so hard for breaking the ice with a more awkward question that will probably keep him questioning himself for days about it. “what do you think of me?”
“My wife?” he stated hesitatingly.
I shook my head. “Y-Yes, I mean, we're married but, r-right now... what do you call our relationship? I-Is this... a-a thing or just--” I shrugged. “I-I don't know.”
We became silent again. This time, more awkwardly than before. I don't know what the hell there is to do! For goodness' sake, Lucy, you're talking to someone who doesn't think kissing a BIG deal. How else would he even manage to answer this?
“Then, I guess you're my girlfriend.”
“W-What..?”
We stared at each other completely in awe. The wind blew, showing Natsu's face creating a small blush on his cheek. He didn't look away, letting his gaze stay on me.
“I said, you're my girlfriend.” he looks down from the terrace and grinned, making me blush harder and look down, too.
My lips shivered nervously when I tried stating my line. “Y-Yeah... T-That actually sounds right.”
My eyes widened when I saw Natsu bring his hand out to me with his signature grin. “Let's go, then, Mrs. Dragneel.”
I closed my eyes, hesitatingly taking his hand, with our fingers instinctively intertwining. “Sh-Shut up, Mr. Dragneel...”
