Ch. 39 - The Best Partner!

Lucy's P.O.V.
Pulling my hair up in a bun, I went and lied my back on the couch as I continued watching 'The Immortal Instruments : City of Bones'. Not that I haven't watched it. I have watched it a thousand times and never got tired of it. No matter how many people kept complainig how badly the movie turned out, I sticked to my opinion which was the 'movie-will-always-be-awesome' side.
After reading the books, I was a little disappointed when some parts didn't appear but, I didn't want to be a perfectionist so... in short--The movie's still great! I just love how they imagined Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower as Clary and Jace, I mean, they fit the spot!
I suddenly felt flat when the couch moved, I turned and saw Natsu sitting with his popcorn-filled bowl at the ready. “Heya, Luce! What're we watchin'?”
I giggled delightfully to myself with my hin resting on the support of my arms and my legs curled above the sofa. “It's The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones, Natsu!” I squealed to myself as I continued watching the movie.
“Heh, you seem pretty into it.” Natsu stated but I didn't hear him talk much since I was pretty much focused on Jace and Clary--ohh how I love those two.
We got to the part where Clary fainted and was caught by Simon and Jace. “BEST PART!” I yelled at Natsu all of a sudden, making him scootch a lot away from me with himself still staring weirdly at me.
"This is the part where you tear pieces of your shirt to bind my wounds.." clary observed, making jace look at her. "If you wanted me to take my clothes off, you should've just asked."
I squealed a lot more and ended up clinging on to Natsu's arm. “KYAA! JACE IS FRICKING HOT! Don'cha think so, Natsu?”
He squinted his eyes on me. “You do know I'm a guy. I'm interested in women--not guys.”
The movie pretty much went on and on and finally, I was relieved when Natsu stopped talking. I sighed and focused upon the movie screen. It was too quiet if you ask me. Natsu would usually keep on whining and whining all day.
So, anyway, just so you know, we got to the part where Jace was denying he was the son of a Morganston. When he pushed Valentine against the wall, chills were sent down to my spine when I suddenly saw Natsu punch his fists on the coffee table.
“NOOOO!! What the f*ck is with this movie, Luce?! How could they kiss?! T-They're siblings?! What the f*ck is wrong with the author?!” Natsu ruffled his hair up, kept cursing over and over again under his breath.
I tapped him by his shoulder and whispered, “Want a spoiler? They're not real siblings. Clary's real sibling will be revealed in the series. Unfortunately, there won't be a sequel.”
His head rose up, “How could they not make a sequel?! It's fricking awesome and twisted at the same time!”
I caressed his back and nodded in agreement, “I feel you, dude. A lot of fans complained about the movie taking too much scenes out from the book.”
He slumped his head and actually bawled. “Luce, let's go to their set right now!” he ordered, grabbig me by the hand and was about to pull me out when I pulled mine back to me.
“No way! This arm is mine. And besides, we can't change the past.” I folded my arms against my chest and slouched my back on the sofa. “Oh, tomorrow, the partnerings will be decided, right?”
He sat back down with his eyes roughly closed and his arms folded againdt his chest. “Hmm... yeah. Mrs--your mom told me I should be your partner.”
I blushed, “I-It's fine, really, even if we aren't picked together. I-It's not like I'd be partnered up with a complete stranger.” I slowly tucked a lock of hair behind my ear and saw Natsu looking straightly focused at the flower vase sitting in front of us.
“Hmm... yeah, maybe.”
I sulked deep in my heart. I was hoping he'd deny and say he wants to partner up with me. But, I didn't think he'd take that request too seriously. Oh, well.

the next day . . . . . . . .
Erza cleared her throat as she grab hold of the microphone. So, with the mic in her hand, she began explaining details about the upcoming fieldtrip and what things are to be brought during the trip.
“This is it! What everyone's been waiting for! Each and every one of you will find out their partners during their homeroom time. Do not worry for we know each and every one of your relationships. This fieldtrip will bring each of you closerand acquainted with each other. Thank you, have a good morning, everyone.” Erza bows humbly, handing the microphone over to the principal on stage.
“Aww,” Levy pouted with her arms folded against her chest. “I was really looking forward to finding out who my partner is.” she raised her arms up in the air as if she was about to go crazy if she doesn't find out now.
I grab a hold of both her arms and made them calm down by her sides. “Now, Levy, we must be patient. I mean, I'm excited to know who my partner is, too, but, it can wait.”
She pouts, “Buu~ you just want your hubby to be your partner.” she stuck her tongue out as she started walking a faste rpace than mine.
“S-So, what? It's not like I was the one who decided the pairings.” I folded my arms against my chest and started imagining of who'd be possibly my partner. Or who'd be partnered up with Natsu.

Levy squealed, kept squirming around her seat with both her hands covering her flustered face. “Iyaa! I-I don't think I want to hear it yet!” she raised a hand in front of her and then covered her ears to deny the pairings.
“You were ecstatic earlier, how could you not be insterested now?” The whole class looked up front and saw the teacher hand out more information about the fieldtrip.
He raised his clipboard in a model-typed pose then smirks. “And now, the moment you've all been waiting for--your partner for the fieldtrip.” making everyone feel the tension in the room, everyone froze to their seats.
“Without further ado, let's announce... McGarden's partner. Drum roll...” nobody was playing but, we automatically heard a drum roll ourselves--our heart beating through our ears. He pointed a finger, pointing at Gray, everyone gasped, especially shocked to see Juvia by his side.
Juvia bawled. “No! Juvia will not accept this partnership! Gray-sama should be partnered with juvia!” Juvia started gnawing her handkerchief with frustration. She growled almost.
Levy laughed nervously, suddenly leaning on me to whisper. “Ne, Lucy, do you think... Juvia would kill me?”
I shook my head. “No way. Juvia's just frustrated but, I think during the trip, we can exchange partners, then you'd allow her to take Gray, right?” I pulled a thumbs up and smiled positively.
The teacher cleared his throat and announced everyone else's partners. Until it came down to mine. “Drum roll for... Lucy Heartfilia!”
These partnerships are weird. Juvia's partnered up with Gajeel. Someone said they were bestfriends outside the school and Levy was sulking the whole time after finding out about it. Elfaman with Evergreen, making him shiver about not being manly enough to take such a woman.
the whole class had gone topsy-turvy after finding out their partners weren't who they thought they'd be. I just hope I get partnered up with someone I get along with.
“Lucy heartfilia... you are partnered up with.... Sting Eucliffe from section II!”
My eyes widened, making me gasp for air. Right when I was about to raise a hand and defy the decision, someone else punched their fists on top of their table, standing up. “N--No way! Lucy should be my partner!”
My heart kept beating harder when Natsu objected. But then again, my shoulder sank when the teacher said, "The partnerships have been decided, Dragneel. It cannot be replaced at this time."
Out of all the people, it had to be that rude Eucliffe who barged through the classroom. Lord, what have I ever done to be drifted away from Natsu?
