Ch. 02 - I'm marrying him?!
Ch. 02 - I'm marrying him?!
______________________________________________________________________________
A week had just passed ever since the Science lab incident. People slowly got to know Dragneel and others started befriending that guy. Me? I wouldn't bother befriending someone like him. He's a kid, for pete's sake.
"Dang, Natsu Dragneel became popular in a flash, you know?" Levy alerted, sitting beside me in the canteen, drinking her milkshake.
"What do you mean?" I asked her. "He's only been here for a week. There's no way he's popular in that tiny--"
Levy cuts me by pointing at the crowd of girls squealing and cheering for Natsu as he played basketball with Gray and the others.
"Kya!! Go, Natsu-kun!"
"You can do it, Natsu-kun!"
"N-A-T-S-U! Go, Natsu!" Even the cheerleaders were all cheering for that guy. What's with all this? How come he's so popular in such a short time?
The girls squealed louder than before when Natsu had shot the basketball through the hoop. He dropped down, his body reeking of sweat.
"Not bad, rookie." Gray smirked. "You should join the basketball team. We need someone like you."
Natsu looked up the roof then, smiled. "Yeah! I'll join in the team!"
I smirked at Gray when he came across me. "What?" He asked when he sat beside me by the bleachers.
"I thought you were gonna beat the crap out of the transferee?"
He looked at Natsu, wiping all the sweat dropping. "Well, he ain't bad so, I'll pass on this one."
"Kyaa! Gray-sama's body in sweat is too charming!" Juvia squealed, taking random pictures of Gray in different positions. Gray looked at Juvia. "Oy, don't go taking pictures of someone that casually."
Juvia shivered, now sulking. "Y-Yes..."
"Hey, Lucy, want to go out with me this Saturday?" Leo the 'lion'. Obviously a playboy who asks girls on a date randomly. But, is great in badminton.
I shook my head. "Rejected. Sorry. I have plans that Saturday. And besides, I hate playboys." I declared, glaring sharply at him.
He froze to his position, fixing his glasses. "That hurt, Lucy, my honey..."
"Leo! Here's your water. I'm so sorry." Aries. Leo's official girlfriend even though she knew Leo's hobby was flirting and picking up girls. 'I like him the way he is', she quoted. She also likes saying 'sorry' for some reason nobody knows.
"Yes, my darling! Goodbye now, my sweet honey!" He bid me farewell, jumping down the bleachers and wrapped his arm around Aries, walking away from the court.
I turned to look in Natsu's direction. He was walking through the bleachers when he saw me. He glared at me, clicking his tongue then turned to go inside the classroom.
"He hates you." Levy stated.
"Our feelings are mutual." I looked away from him, sipping from Levy's juice box.
School ended up being a half-day since there weren't much school activities going on. Levy and I said goodbye to each other. I went straight to my Apartment and saw Mom's message on my cell.

From: Mom
Lucy, remember to dress up neatly and girly as possible. Today's the day you're meeting your fiancée!

I almost cracked the lence of my phone when I remembered about meeting that 'fiancée' of mine. Oh, man. I've been wanting to avoid that.
I went through my closet and found that dress Mom's been nagging me to use during special occasions. I'm sure, if Mom was here, she'd want me to wear this.

As soon as I've arrived at the Heartfilia Konzern, I was greeted by Ms. Spetto, my most trusted friend and maid and the others.
"Welcome home, my dear Lucy." Spetto-san said as she hugged me with tears bursting from her eyes.
"Spetto-san, it hasn't been that long." I told her, hugging her back along with the others.
"Well then, come in now, your fiancée's already inside." Spetto-san told me.
"Eh, already?" Mom must've told me the wrong time so they would get ahead of me before I prepare anything.
I went inside while holding both of my hands in front of me. There, I saw Mom and Dad sitting next to each other, while the other family sitting across them with their backs faced in front of me.
"Ah! There she is." Mom gestured me to bow for the family and sit beside her.
I went in the middle of the living room and bowed. "It's nice to finally meet you. I am Lucy Heartfilia of the Heartfilia konzern." When I rose up, my eyes widened when I saw Natsu, sitting beside the woman with his legs crossed and his eyes widened.
T-This is the WORST SET UP EVER! Why the hell, of all people, did it have to be Natsu?! A grown up with a mind of a kid!
"Ah, from the looks of it, you two must know each other." Mom spoke with a smile on her face.
The woman looked at Natsu. "You know Lucy of the Heartfilia's?"
Natsu nodded while his body shivered. "Y-Yes, Mom. S-She's my classmate..." The tone of his voice sounded as if he was regretting to ever come here in the first place! You're not the only one disappointed, bub!
"Ah, then the plan will work perfectly than planned." Mom cheered, clapping her hands. "I'd say, we give these two some time alone to get to know each other. Wouldn't you agree, Layla?" The old woman suggested.
"Ah, yes, Grandine. That is just perfect! Lucy, why don't you take Natsu upstairs and talk in the living room there? You two must get to know each other as soon as possible!" Mom squealed. "Off you go, then."
Natsu and I went upstairs. I sat on the couch across his and massaged my head. "What is going on right now?"
He spreads his legs, wrapping his arm around the sofa. "Why the hell did I have to be stuck, marrying you?!"
"Huh?! I'm much more disappointed than you are, you... you pinky!" I spat back at him. "I can't even imagine, living peacefully with you--a man with a childish mind."
His veins popped out. "Oy! Oy! Oy! I don't like where this is going!" He yelled. "Tch."
The both of us calmed down, sitting back on the couch. "What do we do? There's no way out of this agreement..."
He looked away. "Ain't it obvious? We just get married and pretend like nothing's wrong."
I looked up to him. "How can you stay calm?! This is for our whole lives we're talking about!"
He looked at me, tapping his fingers on his chin. "I've got a plan..."
"What's the plan?"
"We just need to pretend to be in love with each other everytime they're around." He stated, making me look weirdly at him.
"That plan--makes no sense! I mean, what was the point of being "lovey-dovey" here? Where's the "escape" plan where you and I don't get married?"
He shrugged. "Who said anything about an "escape" plan?" He stood up, looking outside the glass window.
"So... we're just gonna get married like there's nothing wrong with it?" I asked, hesitant of doing the plan.
He nodded. "Yeah. There is nothing wrong with it. It's not like we're gonna die or anything, right?"
I scoffed. "Lucky for you. You're a guy. I'm a girl--who wants to get married at the age of 23 to a man I love then, we'll have two children--a boy and a girl who will be named in the future. What?"
He bopped his head. "Wow. You really planned this whole marriage thing out." He chuckled.
"Shut up." I rolled my eyes at him, stomping my feet as I slowly moved away from him.
'I can't believe I'm still going to marry this guy. Could things become any more worse?'

[Dinner Time]
Natsu and I were ordered to sit next to each other at the dining table. And so we did. But, if they weren't our parents, we'd so be escaping to not get married right now.
"Oh, my." Mrs. Dragneel exclaimed.
"Why, Grandine? Is something the matter?" Mom asked.
Mrs. Dragneel simply chuckled. "No. Not at all. It's just that your dish is so delish."
The four adults chuckled in unison while Natsu and I stayed silent in eating.
'I so want to go home this instant.' I thought to myself.
"Now then, let us talk about the preparations. Natsu and Lucy, you two will help, too, dears." Mom said, eyeing the two of us.
"I-I'm sorry. Help with... what?"
"Preparations for your wedding day, of course. You are getting married tomorrow."
Natsu and I both spilt out our drinks and yelled in unison. "TOMORROW?!!"
"MOM! I-Isnt that a little bit too early? Aren't you exaggerating a bit?!" I yelled.
"Lucy, sit back down." She ordered.
I sat then looked weirdly at Natsu. "Mom, marrying him this early is a bit..."
"Well, this agreement has been waiting to be achieved for Eighteen years. But, I suppose it could wait."
Natsu and I sighed in relief. "Thanks, Mo-"
"You'll get married this coming Saturday, instead."
That... didn't change a thing.
"Uh... Mom, IT'S STILL TOO SOON!"
She snapped her fingers. "Oh. That's a lot of time for bonding, you two." She laughed. "Now then, you two stay put there while us adults will plan your wedding for you. Try to be grateful, dear." She snickered.
THIS IS THE WORST REQUEST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!!

A/N: btw, for those of you who think I copied this chapter from NISEKOI, don't. I've published this far longer before I even watched Nisekoi. This was exactly my idea of the old MARRIED TO MY ENEMY book.
Thank you :)
