Ch. 01 - The boy with pink hair
Ch. 01 - The boy with pink hair

I sighed at the thought after finding out what my parents called me for that Tuesday after I got home from my highschool.
I'm really starting to hate them both. Imagine, calling me after a full, tiring day to the coffee shop just so they could tell me I need to marry their bestfriend's son?! And meet him this Saturday without any warning?!
This totally sucks.
"Are you alright, Lucy? You're just staring at your food." My bestfriend, Levy McGarden, asked, fixing her glasses as she continued to eat her cake.
"Ah, I'm just... having a headache. Nothing to worry about." I faked a smile but, the truth is I'm still worrying over the 'meeting-your-fiancée' thing.
"Huh. You better hurry or else we're gonna be late for school." She warned, drinking her blueberry milkshake next.
"Oh, yeah. School!" I screamed, catching every customer's attention inside the restaurant. I ignored the attention then, ate the cake in a rush, pulling Levy into the bus that was still driving.
"YOU'RE CRAZY!" The bus driver screamed, continuing to drive the bus. "How can you ride an on-going bus?!"
"Ah, sorry for that! We're gonna be late for school if we didn't!" I apologized, saluting to the bus driver.
As soon as we saw the school, the bus stopped, letting Levy and I go into the school. "Thanks, old mister!" I yelled so the bus driver would hear.
Levy and I kept panting and gasping for air when we got to the canteen. "L-Lucy, didn't you know we weren't really gonna be late?"
I looked in Levy's direction. "What did you just say?"
She sighed. "I said I was only kidding about us being late."
I looked down on the ground. "Why didn't you tell me on the way here? Levy, sometimes, you're really cruel..."
"Eh?" Levy giggled. "Sorry 'bout that."
"Class 1's Heartfilia and McGarden, aren't you two supposed to be inside your classroom?" Levy and I turned around and saw the Student Council President, Erza Scarlet. She's a strict one.
"Uh, even though it's only 6:30? We still have 30 minutes left." Levy stated.
"No. You must get inside right this instant. You have a transferee student." Erza said with her arms folded.
"A transferee student?" This late? It's already August.
"Alright, then. We'll be going now." Levy waved goodbye, walking alongside me to our classroom.
When we arrived, everyone was already here. I can see some of them quivering in fear. They must've encountered Erza along the way.
"Good morning, Levy and Lucy!" We turned sideways and saw Juvia Lockser with her widest smile as always.
"Ah, Juvia! Morning!" Levy greeted, smiling back.
"Oh. Good morning." I greeted back, not in the mood to be happy and quirky this early.
"Is something bothering Lucy? Juvia might help!" Juvia raised her hand and looked in my direction.
Levy tugged on Juvia's sleeve. "She's been acting like it since this morning."
"Is that so?" Levy nodded at Juvia's question. "Hmm.... Lucy must be experiencing her period?"
"I'm already done this month!" I contradicted her theory. I sat back on my seat when she sweatdropped.
"Juvia's just kidding around, Lucy. Just joking...." Juvia looked behind me and had her eyes shaped like hearts, saliva coming out from her mouth continuously.
"Ah! Juvia is seeing heaven, Gray-sama!" She squealed, holding on to both sides of her cheeks.
I looked up behind me and saw Gray Fullbuster with his hand tucked inside his pocket and the other holding his polo shirt over his shoulder. He was half-naked. Everybody knows Gray's hobby was taking off his clothes anywhere.
He looked down on me then, ignored Juvia's glance. "Damn that Erza, forcing me to come inside the classroom this early. Once I see that goddamn face of a transferee student, I'm gonna beat his face to a pulp even if this is his first day." With that said, he walked away towards his seat.
"But, the transferee could be a girl, too, you know." Levy contradicted. "If she's a girl, I'd love to become friends with her! Wouldn't you agree, Lucy?"
I just nodded at her. "Well, it would be nice. That way, we can lead her to a relaxing highschool life!"
"Man! If the transferee's a man, he needs to show us he's a man!" That was Elfman Strauss, one of my classmates. Everything about being a man is his favorite quote.
I looked away from the group and saw our homeroom teach come in, she's Mirajane Strauss, the oldest sister of the Strauss siblings.
"Now, now, pay attention, class, for today--we have a transferee. I'm sure you all heard this from Erza so, let's all give him a big, warm welcome!" Mirajane announced, opening the door then, clapped her hands.
"He is a guy." Gray smirked. "This should be interesting."
I looked in front. Almost everyone's eyes have widened when they saw the color of his hair--a pinkette just entered the room. He was wearing a white-knitted scarf around his neck even though it was still in the season of summer, the complete school uniform though it was wrinkled and he was not wearing the school I.D.
"He's violating the school rule on his first day?"
"Heh. Must be a delinquent type." Levy chuckled. "But, he wouldn't match up to Gajeel."
Gajeel Redfox. He's been Levy's crush and he's in the class next door--Class 2 because of his badass behavior.
"Oh my. Mr. Dragneel here had just transferred here with his parents due to 'personal issue' they quoted." Mirajane giggled. "Mr. Dragneel, do introduce yourself to us and tell us a bit of information about yourself."
The pinkette stood in front with his arms folded. He looked away from the class by closing his eyes. He looked annoyed. "The name's Natsu Dragneel. I'm 18 years old and I plan to finish my studies here."
The whole class remained quiet, waiting for him to continue.
He opened his eyes, looking at Ms. Mirajane. "That is all."
Before we knew it, almost all the girls in class were squealing and cheering for this guy. All were saying the same phrase. "KYAAA!! HE'S SO COOL!"
Ms. Mirajane giggled. "Alright. Alright. Settle down, you girls. Paws down. Now then, Mr. Dragneel, if you will, sit behind the blonde girl, Ms. Heartfilia. Over there." Ms. Mirajane pointed her finger at the seat behind me.
Oh yeah. Now that I think about it, this seat behind me has just been an extra used for school activities.
The pinkette slowly walked to his seat. And when his footstep stopped by my table, he looked down on me, staring--wait, it was either glaring or staring.
"Is there a problem, Mr. Dragneel?" Ms. Mirajane asked.
The pinkette looked away from me, sitting behind me. "Nope. Nothing at all."
What's this guy's deal, anyway? Staring at me like that . . .

[ CANTEEN ]
"Oh! Good morning, Lucy, Levy!" Kinana. She's the school's cook. Very friendly and popular with the boys in school since she's only 18 years old.
"Morning." I greeted back, recieving the fried chicken for Lunch. I went and sat on our usual seat, started eating my Lunch.
"Hey, Lucy, is it just me or was that transferee student staring at you earlier in class?" Levy asked. I knew it. It wasn't my imagination.
"I don't know if he was "staring" or if he was "glaring" at me. But, yeah, he was." I told her.
"His stare seemed like you were familiar to him." Levy said. "Like you two have met before."
I shrugged. "I don't know. I've never met someone like him--with pink colored hair before." I looked behind me and saw him eating by himself. He was alone but, he didn't seem like he was bothered by it. In fact, he was enjoying his meal.
"Ohohoho! Man, this stuff is great!" He exclaimed, waving his arms in the air. "How did you manage to learn how to cook like a pro?!" He asked, looking at Kinana with those eyes.
"Eh? B-But, egg omelette is the simplest dish of all!" Kinana exclaimed.
"But still, this is amazing! Your hands are amazing!" He kept jumping around the canteen, letting everyone see his lunch, praising Kinana. "Oh, man! You guys have got to try this!"
"T-Thank you, uh, and your name is?"
The pinkette swallowed the omelette then grinned. "I'm Natsu Dragneel!"
"Well then, I thank you for the compliment, Natsu." Kinana smiled, continued to put Lunch in everyone's tray.
Man, that Natsu guy sure is weird. I mean, why would his parents name him after the Japanese term of 'summer'? And... he sure acts like a kid. I've never seen anyone like it.
Getting excited over an egg omelette is weird.

[SCIENCE LAB]
"So, as you can see..." I was paying attention in class but, not to Gildarts' teaching. He's Sir Gildarts. The school Science teacher, although his teaching is a pain in the ass and looked like he was even lazy enough to teach us with that half-hearted tone of his voice.
"Whoa! Look, it changed color!" I looked by my side and saw Natsu mixing some chemicals with the others. He reacts everytime they explode into tiny bits.
I sighed. "Uh, you're not supposed to touch that." I told him. He just scoffed, continuing with the mixing. "As if. Why would they put the chemicals here in front of us if they weren't meant for mixing?"
He's got a point. My theory is... Gildarts just too lazy to clean the Science Lab.
I turned to Natsu and saw him about to pour the blue chemical to the yellow chemical. I held the blue chemical and put it away from him. "Hey! Give it back!"
"No way. Mixing the blue with the yellow will cause the explosion." I told him.
"No, it wouldn't!" He contradicted.
"Yes, it would."
"No!"
"Yes."
"No!"
"Yes. It would."
"No it wouldn't!" He gruffed, taking the chemical from my hand and poured it in without thinking.
"W-Wait!" I was too late when I had told him that. After he poured the blue chemical, the whole bottle exploded towards his face.
I sighed, resting my chin on the palm of my hand. "I told you." Why did I even bother? Somewhere deep down inside me, I knew he wouldn't listen to me.
"Oh, man! Oh man! Oh man! The Principal's gonna kill me for this." Sir Gildarts scratched the back of his head, slowly sweeping the mess Natsu made.
"Damn, you youngster! Don'cha know if blue is mixed with yellow, it explodes?!" Sir Gildarts yelled.
"How the heck should I know? The chemicals were only right in front of me." Natsu fought back, folding his arms.
"You should listen to Ms. Heartfilia. She's the highest ranked in Science so listen to anything she says, got it, transferee?"
Natsu looked at me then looked away with his arms folded. "Why should I listen to a fatty?"
I'M NOT FAT!
"Whatever. Just do what you want and you'll always get into trouble."
