Hua Qiangu remembered perfectly well, she used to be a worker of the Pei family, she used to be a chef, she was responsible for cooking for the whole family, at thay time, she was around eighteen years old, she didn't have any family of her own, she didn't know her mother or father, she was brought up in the streets and luckily the Pei family took her in when she was around ten years old, hua qiangu was grateful, atleast she has a place to live in and food to eat, the first time she ever met Pei shun was when she was taken to the house, Pei shun was around the same age as her, Pei shun was a nice boy and friendly, even though she was just a nobody, Pei shun treated her very well and as year's went by the two grew even more closer and realised that they're actually in love.

Pei shun and hua qiangu kept their relationship a secret, Pei family never knew their son was in love with their cook, qiangu didn't mind his boyfriend keeping their relationship a secret, when qiangu turned twenty years old, Pei shun convinced qiangu to stop working at their house as a chef, Pei shun started a restaurant  business for qiangu, since qiangu really loved cooking, Pei shun thought it will be a good idea to have the woman he loves have her own business, have something she could call hers and not work for someone else.

Both Pei shun and qiangu were happy, but their happiness was shortlived when Pei shun introduced qiangu as the girl he was planning to marry, Pei shun parents refused, they will never allow their son to marry someone who was taken from the streets, a girl who has no parents, no home, she has nothing, and on top she used to be a maid in their house, Pei shun parents informed him that they already have someone they have chosen and Pei shun will have no choice but to accept.

Pei shun just as expected refused, he will not marry anyone else if it's not qiangu, he didn't mind if his parents will disown him, if he will not be allowed to marry qiangu then he is ready to move out, start all over  with qiangu.

Qiangu accepted, she doesn't mind leading a hard life with pei shun, as long as their happy and together, that's all that matters, the restaurant that Pei shun opened for qiangu, but then within six months, qiangu who was all alone at the small apartment that they live together with pei shun, Pei shun father together with a well dressed woman who was young visited her, the way qiangu was threatened, insulted, humiliated just because of selflessly loving Pei shun, qiangu protecting the life of her unborn baby, and not wanting to be the reason of destroying the once happy and perfect family, looking at Pei shun mother at the intensive care unit, just because of his son not listening to his parents, qiangu chose to leave without telling anyone, though she was heartbroken, qiangu had no other choice, if she will insist on being together with pei shun, then she will have to watch Pei shun mother die, and her, God knows what they will do to her, especially at that moment that she is pregnant, she really has no other choice.

Qiangu made sure to hide well, she was taken in by a good man, the man treated qiangu well, and qiangu has been so grateful for that,  few months later, she heard the news of Pei shun getting married, qiangu was really sad, luckily the man who took him in was their for her, xiao zhan was born and he took the man's name family, the xiao, qiangu lived with the man for year's like couples, but in reality qiangu was never in a relationship with man she lived together with for year's, xiao zhan grew up knowing the man was his father, he never knew it was a good samaritan who took in qiangu when she has nowhere to go.

Qiangu never accepted the love of the man who treated him so well for year's until he died, qiangu couldn't bring herself to love someone else if it's not Pei shun, Pei shun was his first love, the man she truly love, but they were never meant to be together.

"Its best this way, if my son get interacted with the Pei family, then his life will surely be in danger, he is better off never knowing his real father." Zhan mother whispered, composed herself decided to  continue her day and forget about everything.

Pei shun was in deep thoughts, he looked for qiangu all over, but he didn't expect qiangu could be living in the same city just like him, and he never even once got to see her or meet her, he never knew qiangu was pregnant with his child, qiangu left without saying a word, nothing, he tried understand why qiangu chose to leave, but he never was able to get a valid answer, they came into an agreement of sticking together no matter what happens, but then qiangu never kept her promise, did she think maybe he will refuse the child if he got to know that she is pregnant? Or his parents threatened qiangu, he remembers her mother was admitted at the hospital, and he didn't tell qiangu because he knows her mother was only pretending to be critically ill just to get him follow their instructions.

"Qiangu, do you hate me or you no longer love me? I have never even once forgotten you all these years." Pei shun said and looked at the picture of him and qiangu when they were still young.
