December arrived and as the days passed that whole wedding disaster was vanishing from my memories however I and Blaze had a certain tense atmosphere between us and it was starting to be noticed by others.

"But what happened? Did you guys fight?" Miles questioned curiously.

"I guess something like it" I responded while eating my lunch in the cafeteria.

"You guys are so different since that freaking weeding... What happened?" Jen asked. It's a boomer to not being able to talk with them truthfully at this situations I could really use their backup... Well I can tell them half of it. I guess?

"Found out some stuff I wish I didn't" I said

"What? A ex-girlfriend or something? Those always get noticed at weddings" Miles told, I looked at him in a surprise expression and his mouth suddenly turned into a 'O' shape "No way" i look at him nodding "Who?" he asked curiously

I rolled my eyes just thinking about Sarah's face " Know that girl that would constantly send stuff?"

"The blondie?" Miles asked

"Wait! That high-pitched bimbo?" Jennifer asked stunned

"Yeah... That one"

"What the hell..." Miles commented shocked

"How can that woman end up in some moment of her life with Blaze?!" Jennifer said trying to find anything logical in what I just told them. I am glad I did told them, it wasn't everything, and it sure wasn't what I was mostly mad about but now I could share my anger about Sarah even if they didn't know everything.

"That bitch looks like she came out straight out of mean girls..." Miles said "she reminds me of Karen"

"I think she fits more into a Regina role" I said making them silently agree with me

"So how are you going to fix it? He is your husband" Jennifer questioned concerned

"Plus everybody in the office as clearly understood you guys are weird and people are asking if the Christmas party is still on" Miles notified me.

"People notice?" I asked surprised

"Hm hm girl" Miles hummed "It's not hard to see your bitchy face and people on the top department of your dear husband told me he has been more moody than usual and a but gloomy too"

"Really?" I was astonished, I can't believe our conversation had some impact on him. Although the environment back home as certainly changed, I don't eat breakfast with him although he waits in the table, I just grab my coffee and my sandwich and leave, I only see a glimpse of him every day. He never eats dinner with me and when I fall asleep I have no idea if he is there or not. We barely speak or tease one another like we used to, it's definitely unusual but I have been so focused on trying to avoid him that I never really noticed how he was. Still it's hard to believe that I could ever have some impact on that emotionless guy. "Maybe it's because of work" I blurred out trying to find a logical reason

My friends laughed " Yeah girl, right" Miles said ironically "you should flatter yourself The man itself Mr. Maxwell is sad because of you"

"Yeah I doubt that... It wasn't that bad" I said recalling our fight, if it can even be called a fight I was the one doing all the talk

"Well but you don't know men and how they think sometimes they overreact the small things and do the opposite with big ones" Miles explained

"How do you know that?" Jennifer asked laughing

"Girl, I might be a men but I do not think like a straight one. I just know them by far" he said looking at his long red nails.

"Well if he really is upset about our argument that's -- weird" I commented

"You should talk to him" Jenny proposed

"How?" I asked

"Well you could start by the Christmas party" Miles suggested

"What is even that? I never heard of it? And how do you guys know about it you are not from here" I said looking at the two

"It's just this big-ass party where they decorate the whole salon downstairs, people dance, sing and drink. I heard it's like a epic party plus it's that day of the year where you can find out who you're co-workers really are" Miles explained "Can you imagine Jeremy singing Jingle Bells in top of  Target shopping trolley with only a thong on ?"

"No I cannot" I said with a disgusted face the image of that scenario planted in my brain

"Neither can I... Because I wasn't year last year" Miles said with a sad expression

"They say it's the party everyone waits for. People you though you knew... You don't really know them after that party. It's like everything we want in a party" Jennifer tried to convince me "and everyone is worried sick because by this time Blaze should've had giving the permission for the party and also nominate the party coordinators"

"Why hasn't he?" I questioned

"Cause he's heartbroken thanks to you boss" Jenny pouted

"Guys c'mon I'm sure he did not forget it"

"Yeah well if he didn't them you are the one to blame like the laboratory department says " Miles commented

"What do they say?" I asked frowning

"They say it's your fault, because of your fight there's no party this year"

"That's a lie" I told them

"Yeah well, one week of December has already passed and there's no sight of the party"

"Fine! I will talk to him " I commented making my friends eyes sparkle in joy, they clapped of happiness and I rolled my eyes at their excitement. I got up and git ready to face Blaze

"Good luck " They wished

"Thanks, I will need it" I smiled, here goes nothing.

Once upstairs, I greeted Lisa I strange her missing happiness.

"Hey Lisa" I greeted, she looked sad while tapping the pen on her desk, while the other hand held her face.

"Hi Mrs. Maxwell"

"Are you okay Lisa?" I questioned worriedly for the usual happy women

"I have been better"

"What happened?"

"I heard there won't be a Christmas party... Everyone is waiting for it. It's just sad" she commented...oh wow this looks like a big event that every worker on here likes how come I have not heard about it. I moved along the hall passing by the gloomy faces on the whole office and finally meeting Connor who was his normal self.

"Aren't you sad too?" I asked

"The Christmas party is not my main goal within this company" he responded. Wow he knew what I was talking about, is it that bad? Did he already cancel it?

Frustated by all this I got in the office without further thoughts.

"Mrs.Maxwel you should knock-" I heard Connor said as I closed the door behind me

"No knocking..." he said looking at his desk full of papers. His commentaries as I would walk in his office have constantly changed somehow it's like he already accepted his fate that j will never knock on his door, he no longer scolds me just does that stupid ironic comment I guess... "Can I help you?"

"Do you know your whole office has turned depressive?" I asked

"I figured" he said making my eyebrow lift

"How so?"

"I canceled the party" he said collecting a few papers and taking a small glimpse at me

"Why?"

"We have a lot of work to do in these Christmas times so I think the whole company should be focused on that," he told me in a monotone voice, it was like I was speaking with the Blaze from 7 months ago, it was like I just married this guy. Why the hell is he getting more stupid than he was?

The fact is that, although I have difficulties admitting it, Blaze has started to be bearable to be with, on small occasions and days. He was fine I guess to be with. Although there were times he was not, he was tolerable within a space of 24 hours.

I am only here for 5 minutes and I already wish to kill him.

"It's also ethical to give your workers some time off to relax"

"And I am. I gave them the day. I just canceled the party"

"Why?"

"It takes too much of their time while working here, they get distracted of how ambitious they are for that party so I took it off" he said shrugging his shoulders as if he doesn't have emotions, does he really understand things in general like social abilities and stuff, the capability to notice that his worker love that Goddamn party and if they don't have it I am the culprit.

"You are doing it" I stated. He slowly raised his head and took a look in my eyes "They love that party, you can't just cancel it"

"I can't. I don't even have coordinators to prepare it everyone is just too busy"

"I'll do it" I imposed

His eyebrow lift in surprise "You? You never been to our Christmas party how can you make one?"

"I will do it" I exclaimed sure of myself

"Look this is something really complicated you can't just-"

"-I am going to do it if you are so afraid of it you can be my supervisor... But I will do it and it's going to be the best Christmas party this company had" I stated looking at him

"Fine" he replied taking a hug red file out of his bookcase "this is a little help for the making of the party"

Oh shit. What did I get myself into.

It was like a Bible for Christmas parties, with the old and the new testament, that's now big that thing was.

I walked closer to it analyzing the big folder and the papers inside of it.

"Are you sure you can do this?" he asked while looking at me

"No... But I will try. Because that's the thing about me I try..." I said looking at him " you should give some though on that too" I grabbed the red folder and walked away not forgetting the candies in the little desk

"Put the candy down"

"I don't think so" I said while closing the door behind me. Looks like I've got plenty to do.

Trying to keep up with work and organize this freaking party was not going to be easy I asked Miles and Jenny to come to my office helping me out. Read all that stuff that the red folder had and I was going insane. This Christmas party looked like a mini Disneyland on the office. How am I going to make everything work in two weeks?

The things I have to buy and do? The things I have to organize, shit this is so complex and hardworking I never though a party like this would take so much effort but I know I will find way...

I hope I do.
