Plopping on the bench, slightly exhausted and the other half nervous. He was early. Way more early than he should be. Would he look desperate?
An arm laced around around his shoulder and someone sat aggressively next to him, nearly on him and shoved him against the armrest. North, of course.
"Simon! You're early" she chirped, kind of obnoxiously into his ear.
Simon gave a curt nervous laugh, "yea, didn't want to be late."
North rolled her eyes, she had that smile like a good friend who knew. Knew what god only knows but she knew.
Around that time, however, Markus showed up behind them, "Hey, Simon"
This time Simon nearly hopped straight out of his seat in terror.
"Oh hey Markus!" Simon looked up at him, he looked a bit dazed- some would say high, when the taller man flashed him a bright smile.
"Want to head in so we can go ahead and sit?"
Simon nodded, "whatever you want to do, Markus"
So the three filed in, North cursing under her breath at the length of the snack bar line. In the end they got a large popcorn to share, North some candy to sedate her ill temper, and Simon a Large coke. All of which Markus paid for, saying he was being 'gentlemanly'.
They took their seats- right in the middle, where they wouldn't break their neck to see the screen and it wasn't too far away. A top tier seating arrangement of course, since they were so damn early they got to choose their seats without hassle.
North and Simon sat on either side of Markus, who held the popcorn. For the most part before the lights dimmed, North talked away about who knows, not the blonde that's for sure. He sat either staring at Markus or tried adverting his gaze to whatever else he could find in the room to look at.
Eventually the movie started. Simon immediately regretted even saying yes, the movie was grotesque and petrifying.
At a specific moment, he jumped and, like several other in the cinema, let out a high pitched- short scream, pinning himself against the only corner he had, his chair and Markus.
Said man looked down at Simon, curled with his feet in his seat and pinned like a scared dog against him. He wrapped his arm around the terrified man.
Not too long later the movie concluded, everyone filed out of the show room, chattering loudly about the movie or what they'd do once they left.
North was talking about the horrible graphics of the movie, how there could have been more jump scares and less suspense, like she couldn't find a good silver lining in anything.
However, Markus couldn't help but watch Simon- Who shakily opened the door for them to go outside. He seemed still horrified from the movie, he'd never really liked violence or death or horror.
North was picked up by Josh and a few others- they were going to go out and have dinner and go bowling.
Markus walked simon to his car, since he'd brought his own.
Simon bashfully thanked him for inviting him out, and mumbled an apology for being irritating during the movie.
However the darker of the two brushed it off, waving his hand dismissively and telling him he was fine.
Markus left to his own car- and would probably go out with North, Josh and the several others they'd packed into the same car.
Simon went back home, turning his lights on and flopping into his bed after changing into something more comfortable.
His head hurt like it always did after going to the movie theatre.
He got a text from Josh a bit later though, apparently Connor and Daniel had gone with them, and Daniel had decided taking a nap on Connor's lap would be the best way to spend their time at the bowling alley. He took a screenshot, he'd need the blackmail against Daniel later, but he was happy to see his brother happy- even though he hardly showed it. He laid his phone down and snuggled into his pillows and blankets, drifting off easily-
Or he thought he did.
He drifted off long enough for a horrendous nightmare to startle him awake, scrambling to grab his phone, he tried calling Daniel, but he slept with his phone off and it was 2:00 A.M..
He shoved himself under the covers like a child hiding from the boogie man. He looked through his messages, trying to find someone active- and of course the only person active was Markus.
'Hey, are you up?'
Markus opened the chat rather quickly, and began typing.
