Okay

Marks POV:

I left the mess in what used to be my hospital wing to go get cleaning supplies and the ungrateful mermaids meal.

At first, I was surprised that something was flung at me but I was a bit happy because she woke up.

But now, I wish she'd just go back to sleep and stop throwing all the things I put hard effort into obtaining. Like seriously! Does she not know how hard it is to find the supplies to make one health kit?!

I grumbled under my breath the whole way to the area I called my kitchen. Really it's only a room filled with a table and a chair, a fabricator on the wall, lots of cabinets and lockers containing filtered water and cooked meals, and a planter with a lantern tree where I get my lantern fruit.
It's not too big of a room and it's white like the rest of my base.

I grabbed a fried peeper, a lantern fruit, and a bottle of filtered water before making my way back to that
she-demon.

I passed the closet of cleaning supplies and grabbed the mop and broom, mentally preparing myself for her wrath that I was sure to face. How the hell'd a pretty (f/c) tailed mermaid even have that much anger in the first place?!

I gave myself a small pep talk in my head before opening the door and returning to her fiery (e/c) gaze. I was right when I'd said I would get lost in her eyes, they were magnificently stunning! Too bad she only looks at me with anger or disgust. I'd like to see a different emotion, perhaps happiness, but I know she's too angry right now.

I flinched when I finally had the door completely open, ready to duck away from whatever that hellish woman threw at me. For all I knew, she'd have picked up the table and would be aiming at my head!

Then her melodic voice broke the silence.

"Stop standing in the door like a freak and bring me my food!"

Ah. Did I say melodic? Sorry, my bad. I meant angry.

"A please would be nice." The least she could do is show a little respect! "Ugh. Fine. Would you please stop standing there like an idiot and bring me the crap you call food." Close enough I guess.

I sighed and gently laid the tray of food on her lap. Just because she wanted to be rude didn't mean I had to.

She glared at me and waited for me to step back before she cautiously started to eat. She grimaced a bit and I waited for her insult to come.

She just took another bite and washed it down with water. "Huh?!" I slapped my hand over my mouth when I realized my outburst. Once again her fierce (e/c) eyes were on me as she spat back a response.

"Look, just 'cause your food is barely edible doesn't mean I'm gonna instantly puke!" She looked down at the plate and picked up the lantern fruit. "I've had worse, believe me."

I just stared at her as she continued her meal, taking in her appearance.

She had pretty (h/l) (h/c) locks of hair that rolled down her shoulders and rested against her back (ignore it short haired beauties!) and smooth (s/c) skin that seemed to shimmer in the light. A (f/c) bra made of shells and pearls hid her breasts and matched her long tail. I noticed her nails were slightly tinted red and she had two necklaces. The first one I saw was a (golden/silver/bronze) heart shaped locket with the word 'family' written across the centre with small, intricate designs on the outside edges of it. The second necklace was a black, metal choker that had silver and bronze wires weaving in and out of it, a small screen on the back of the collar like necklace glowed green and had one word that read 'stable'.

Every once in a while, her (f/c) tail would flick back and forth, sloshing the tanks water  and fanning out her iridescent (f/c or s/f/c) fins. I noticed that there were small scars scattered around her body, like someone'd cut her.

Her deep (e/c) eyes looked up through her long lashes and starred me down as her eating came to a stop. She noticed me starring at her tail and quickly whipped it up and covered it with the sheets.

"What are you looking at?! Shouldn't you be cleaning?" And the silence turns into snapping, again.

I shook out of my trance and grabbed the broom, sweeping up all the shattered glass and broken medical instruments. I scoffed when I found that the only thing that was still slightly intact from my first aid kit was the roll of bandages.

They were soaked by the puddle of the medicine that was oozing down the wall. It meant they were completely useless now as I don't think it's a good idea to wrap open wounds in cough syrup.

I sighed as I chucked everything into the trash bin. That's gonna eventually over flow, I'll need to find a place for all my trash that won't effect the wild life. Maybe the burning remains of the Aurora would be good, but I know the ship won't be on fire forever.

I turned to grab the rag to clean the wall and realised I'd forgotten to get it.

"Hang on, I'll be right back, I need to get something." I decided to be courteous, and again my kindness was shot down. She snorted and I instantly knew an insult was on it's way.

"Pft! You act like I even care! If you haven't guessed I'm not too fond of you. I mean, I knew you were stupid but I didn't think it was that hard of a thing to get!"

I sighed, annoyed with her short temper, and walked down the hall back to my cleaning supply closet.

In all honesty her words didn't phase me in the slightest. As a famous YouTuber I'd dealt with people and insults far worse than her. I've basically grown numb towards insults and I try to focus on the positive things.

I wonder how the community is doing without me? When I was offered a job to become a crewman on the Aurora, I was told that I'd have continuous internet connection so that I could keep making videos and livestreams. Even if I couldn't go to conventions or see my friends and family in person, I figured that since I could still video chat I should live my dream of going to space.

I mean, I've got plenty of backup videos for Ethan to upload for me, but without my setup in the Aurora I've got no internet connection or computer.

Basically, I can't contact anyone and I can't make new videos for everyone. I'll be fine, in all honesty it's not the fame of the whole thing that matters to me, it's the fact that I've used my videos to help so many people. I just hope they'll be ok until I can get back home and continue. I'm also wondering how my friends and family will take this. I hope my "Momiplier" is ok, I'd hate for her to be sad.

By this time I'd already grabbed the cloth and bottle of cleaning liquid and I'd started to walk back towards.... towards.... huh. I never got her name. I guess I'll have to ask. Hopefully she won't murder me for asking.

I was about to reach the door when I heard her soft voice muttering something. I softened my steps and got closer so I could listen.

(The star things mean incoherent mumbling not cursing)

"****'s not that bad of a cook I guess. The stuff he gave me was way better than the stuff that old man would throw in my tank. What's his problem anyways? Why won't he get mad at me? I'm not exactly being nice, and if I were in his place I'd have already thrown me out or something."

Hmm so she's interacted with humans before. I wonder what they did to make her so aggressive towards others?

I gently backed up and walked forward again like I wasn't there when she talked. I opened the door and walked to the wall, beginning to wipe off the medicine.

"Hey, I never got your name. Mine's Mark."I glanced back to see her hesitate before she replied. "I'm (y/n)."

Her response was short, but at least I had a name to go with her pretty face.

"Ahh, a pretty name for a ravishing mermaid." She had a light blush as she looked away. "W-whatever. Flattery will get you nowhere, Mark."

My name. She'd said it with no anger in her voice. I liked the sound of my name when she said it. It was nice and pleasant, like a warm summer breeze. It made me smirk, I knew she couldn't stay mad at me forever! No one can!

I'd finished with the wall so I threw the rag away. Damn, my trash bin's already half full! I seriously need to get that figured out!

Now let's see, I've swept the floor and cleaned the wall.... ah! Now I just need to pick up the table and mop!

I went to get the mop when I realised that there was a burn mark on the sheets of the hospital bed (y/n) was on.

"Hey (y/n), what's that?" I pointed to the blackened area of the white sheets. She looked up with a confusion in her (e/c) eyes before realising what I was pointing at.

Her eyes widened a bit when I came closer and she crumpled the blanket so the burned cloth wasn't visible.

"What are you talking about? Humph, you really are an idiot. Do I really have to tell you what's in your own base?" That's enough, I've been nothing but kind to her and she needs to stop. "Look, I am not an idiot! So stop acting like you're all high and mighty and just cut the crap! Would it kill you to be nice for once?!"

When I looked up, her (e/c) eyes were starring at me with anger and a bit of ... fear? I knew I raised my voice but I didn't think it was that bad. when I was about to apologise, I realised that the bandage around her head was loose. I reached up to fix it and she flinched away.

The collar like necklace around her neck made a tiny beeping noise and the tiny screen on it flashed from green to yellow, the word 'unstable' flashing over and over again.

"No!Don't!" Her eyes were shut tight and she was slightly trembling. I took a deep breath through my nose and lightly grasped the bandage. Her response was to lightly gasp, and with lightning fast reflexes she had a death grip on my arms.

"Hey, it's okay . I'm not gonna hurt you. Your bandage was loose I'm just gonna fix it and then I'll go back to mopping the floor." I spoke softly, my deep voice making the words come out with a soothing tone.

Her grip tightened a bit and I silently prayed that my wrists wouldn't be broken. Then she sighed, and released my arms.

"Okay."
