New World

"Amy, wake up."

Amy didn't even realize that she had fallen asleep until Mark's words woke her up, causing her to lift her head up slightly to see them approaching a small grassy island.

"What the-where are we?" Amy mumbled sleepily as they descended to the island.

"Welcome to Ewig Jung." Mark answered with a smile as his feet lightly touched down on the ground, his wings silently folding in as he lowered Amy down onto her bare feet.

Mark's shadow landed next to them, its wings still extended as they walked off without them.

"What...what are you?" Amy asked hesitantly as she watched his shadow leave.

"What do you mean?" Mark countered with a confused frown.

"U-uh, never mind." Amy stammered, her face flushing red in embarrassment.

"I don't understand..." Amy murmured in awe as she looked at the ocean surrounding the island, the beginning rays of the sun reflecting off of the calm surface.

"What's there to understand? You're free to be young forever, free to spend your time without worrying about anything!" Mark exclaimed as he gestured around them.

"But my family-"

"I'll show you your new family." Mark interrupted, motioning for Amy to follow him.

She glanced back behind her at the water before she walked with Mark deeper into the island.

The pair abruptly stopped at a large tree, a large hole located at the base.

"Why are we here?" Amy questioned as Mark peered into the hole.

"To meet everyone else." Mark replied before hopping into the hole, disappearing into the darkness.

Amy hesitated at the entrance before she reluctantly followed, her eyes squeezed shut in fear as she fell into the pitch blackness.

Amy gasped when she landed in a small room with several people around her age gathered around her.

A small lantern hung from a tangle of roots that covered the roof, lighting up the walls with a warm yellow glow.

Hammocks made of vines covered in fabric blankets were peppered around the room, spare clothes piled up by the farthest left wall.

"Who's she?" A guy with fluffy brown hair and blue eyes spoke up as he eyed Amy.

"Jack, this is Amy." Mark interjected, introducing the two.

"There's also Ethan," Mark continued, pointing at another male with brown hair and blue eyes.

"Tyler,"

The male with short brown hair and warm brown eyes nodded in acknowledgment.

"Bob,"

The male with short curly brown hair and brown eyes waved politely.

"Wade,"

The male with balding brown hair and brown eyes gave a comical bow, causing Amy to smile.

"And Felix." Mark finished.

"Hi." Felix replied with a smile.

"Wait, why is there no other girls here?" Amy asked Mark as she glanced at him.

"I just don't usually bring girls here." Mark shrugged nonchalantly, his gaze avoiding hers.

"You're probably tired after flying here, you can take the spare hammock." Tyler chimed in, gesturing to the hammock in the corner of the room.

"Thanks." Amy nodded in appreciation, happily climbing onto the hammock.

"Sleep well, I'll show you the rest of the island later." Mark called out to her as he climbed into his own hammock, his wings glimmering in the darkness.

She looked up at the ceiling with a soft sigh as she closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep.

Her eyes snapped open when she felt someone touch her arm, jolting her awake.

"Amy," Felix whispered, his tone urgent.

"We all need your help escaping from Ewig Jung."
