Investigation
"Robbie...Robbie don't remember what happened. Robbie outside, then Robbie saw darkness." The purple haired zombie admitted with a deep frown.
"You sure?" You interjected, feeling your hope instantly dissipate.
"Robbie sorry." Robbie apologized, looking down at his feet in shame.
"It's okay." You assured him, still slightly disconcerted that he was a zombie even though he seemed nice nonetheless.
"Damnit, we're back to square one." Marvin cursed quietly, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
"Wait, can you bring Jack back to life?" You asked hopefully.
"It takes a lot of preparation and strength, but I'll try my best." Marvin promised.
"What do we need?" You prompted, eager to try and bring Jack back as soon as possible.
"Don't worry about the procedure, just bring Jack's body to the my bedroom." Marvin instructed.
You nodded before going downstairs and walking to where Jack's body was.
An empty bundle of blankets laid in a heap in his place, his body nowhere to be found.
"Schneep, did you move Jack's body?" You asked the German doctor that was pouring over his observations in the kitchen with Robin busying himself by cleaning around him.
"Vhat? No, I haven't, vhy?" Schneep replied without looking up from his notebook, his pencil poised over a page already covered in lines of scribbles.
"He's gone." You stated worriedly.
Schneep instantly dropped his work and stormed into the living room, muttering curses in German as he paced by where Jack's body used to be.
"Should I get Chase and Marvin?" You spoke up cautiously, not wanting to anger him further.
"Chase! Marvin! Get down here zhis instant you motherfuckers!" Schneep yelled upstairs without stopping his pacing
Chase, Robbie, and Marvin soon came running downstairs, startled by the shouting.
"What's up doc?" Chase panted once he reached him.
"Care to explain zhis?!" Schneep demanded, gesturing to the empty blankets on the floor stained in blood.
"The fuck? Where's Jack?!" Marvin exclaimed in confusion.
"That's vhat I'm asking you." Schneep huffed impatiently.
"Robbie tired." The zombie decided aloud, curling up on the couch.
"What the fuck?!" Chase yelped in fear, noticing the zombie for the first time.
"Necromancy." You explained simply.
"Vhatever, I need to hear your alibis." Schneep cut in.
"I-I didn't do anything, I've been in my room ever since Marvin locked himself in his room with Robbie's corpse." Chase stammered.
"I've been in my room dealing with him." Marvin added, gesturing at the sleeping zombie.
"And Robin's been with me all day, so that leaves..." Schneep trailed off as he mentally counted all of the present guests.
"You."
"Me?!" You blurted indignantly.
"Everyone else has a viable alibi, vhat's yours?" Schneep prompted.
"I was asleep on the couch until Marvin woke me up after the murder, then I went upstairs when I heard him shout." You replied defensively.
"Look, it's been a long day. How about we all get some rest and continue this later?" Chase interrupted wearily.
"Fine, but know zhat I am watching you." Schneep warned you before storming upstairs to his room.
"Great." You muttered under your breath as you sank down onto the couch, placing your head in your hands.
"Don't mind him, he sometimes gets a little paranoid." Chase assured you before going upstairs.
"I should've tried to save Jack first." Marvin whispered in mild irritation.
"Why didn't you then?!" You snapped.
"I didn't think it'd work." Marvin admitted with a shrug before leaving as well.
Soon you were alone with your thoughts and an unconscious zombie curled up next to you.
You turned on your phone to call for help, only to find that you had no service whatsoever.
"Not surprising." You sighed as you tossed your useless phone across the couch before laying down to sleep, wishing you could escape from the nightmare you were trapped in.
No one heard Schneep's door open last night as he snuck into Jack's recording room.
