°Matt's Sister Pt. 1°
"Y/N," your twin brother Matt said, pausing at the front door into his shared house. "Be prepared for my stupid roommates."
"They can't be worse than you." You teased. "I'm excited to meet them!"
Your brother was finally introducing you to the friends he's had for years that he met through YouTube, his job. Sure, you'd seen the collabs they've done with Matt, but you've never actually met them. Now that you were in town for a while, you had time to meet them. Following Matt in, at first the apartment seemed empty. Then, out of nowhere, two guys popped out screaming and hurdled themselves at Matt. His yelps caused you to laugh, which then brought their focus on you.
"When did you get a girlfriend, Matt?" The one with dyed red hair and glasses asked.
"Ew!" You yelled, creeped out. "I'm his twin, Y/N!"
"I am so sorry, you just look nothing like him." He apologized, and at this comment you rolled your eyes to look over at your brother.
In sync, you both puffed out your cheeks and pulled your ears to make them appear wider. You two had perfected this monkey face as a retaliation to people saying you don't look alike. "Well I'm sold." The guy said again, and stretched a hand out to you. "I'm Mark."
"Oh I know, I've been watching you." A split second after the words left your mouth you realized how that sounded. "Shit, I meant I've seen some of your videos, I swear I'm not that weird, I don't watch you sleep or anything."
The others laughed at your miswording, and you had to admit it was funny. "Good, all you'd see is me drooling, nothing spectacular." Mark diffused the awkward nerves you had, and a smile crept in on your face.
Ryan introduced himself as well, and Matt continued the conversation. "Y/N is in LA for a month looking for apartments." He explained.
"You're moving here?"
"Yeah, I love Florida, but I got a great paid internship out here for my career." You answered. "It's got opportunities for advancement too!"
You stayed for dinner, and as everyone was too lazy to cook, you guys ordered several large pizzas. At around midnight, Matt wordlessly left the room in a sleepy daze, and Ryan followed suit.
"Ah shit." You said in realization.
"What?" Mark asked.
"Matt picked me up from the airport, I have no way of getting to a hotel."
"Hotels are way too expensive around here, just stay with us!" Mark offered. "We have a guest room... of sorts."
"Of sorts?"
"Its more like a study adjoined to my bedroom, but there's an air mattress!"
You yawned. "Sounds pretty good, thanks Mark."
"No problem Y/N." He smiled at you, and lead the way down the halls.
Once inside the makeshift bedroom, and on the air mattress, it didn't take you long to hear Mark's snores from the next room. They weren't obnoxiously loud, in fact they were kind of cute. No matter which way you twisted or turned though, sleep didn't come, so you decided to meander through the boys' house.
Tiptoeing past the sleeping Mark, you giggled quietly at the fact that there was indeed drool coming from his mouth and forming a pool on his pillow. Continuing on to the kitchen, you rummaged for a few slices of pizza from last night, settling down on the couch once more to scroll through various social media.
You opened up Snapchat ad decided to send a message to your friend back home, knowing the time difference from California to Florida meant that she would still be up on Tumblr. You took a selfie using front flash and captioned it "when u can't sleep bc ur makeshift roommate keeps snoring" and sent it.
As you sent it, a dark figure walked down the hall towards you, rubbing their eyes. Apparently not seeing you, they went into the kitchen and opened the fridge. By the light of the fridge you could tell it was Mark, with the same idea for a midnight snack as you. Your phone dinged annoyingly loud, you forgot to turn it on vibrate. Mark turned around, then spotting you as you went in to reply to your friend's message of 'who, ur brother?'.
"Hey Y/N." He smiled sleepily, walking over to the couch with his pizza in hand and sitting beside you. "Couldn't sleep?"
"Not really. You?" You replied, quickly texting 'no' on your phone.
"I never get a full night's rest," he explained.
You frowned. "Why not?"
Mark shrugged, then gestured to your phone. "Someone's talking to you."
"Yeah, its Y/F/N, wondering who my makeshift roomie is." You opened up Snapchat and held out your phone. "Do you mind if we take a pic?"
"Sure." He leaned in for the picture, both of you looking ridiculously tired, then you sent it to her.
"Aw, you can see your dried drool on your chin!" You commented on the picture.
"Crap!" Mark went to furiously wipe off his chin.
You stifled a laugh. "I was kidding, Mark."
"Whew." He jokingly wiped his brow.
