°I'll Give You A Concert°

Recommended Song(s) For This Imagine:
Poet - Bastille

You were a mixture of angry and sad. Your best friend and you had planned on going to a concert together to celebrate her birthday, it was your favorite artist playing, but your ticket was taken from you with little explanation. While that happened months ago, tonight was the concert, so it just reminded you of what you were missing out on.

Angrily slamming your empty cup on the table of the restaurant you were seated at, alone, you scanned the crowd. Sighing, you saw a call coming into your phone. It was your boyfriend Mark. You reluctantly picked up. "Hey babe."

"Hey, where are you?" He asked, a slight hint of worry in his voice.

"I'm chilling at Ron's, drinking probably too much sweet tea."

"Alone?"

You shrugged even though he couldn't see it. "Yeah, I'm fine though."

He paused for a moment. "Are you sure?"

"No." Your voice cracked ever so slightly as you responded.

"I'll be there in five minutes okay?"

"Okay."

Mark hung up, and you ordered yourself another sweet tea and a Sprite for when he arrived. The bell at the front door jingled over the noise of the patrons, and your vision snapped up from your watch to the man walking in. You grinned at the unmistakable red hair of your boyfriend. He was a minute early. God, how you loved him.

"Hey Y/N." He kissed your forehead as he slid in next to you in the booth. You mumbled a hello, moving his arm to rest on your shoulders and sinking into his side. "What's wrong?"

Your voice cracked as you went to explain your feelings to him. "The concert with Y/F/N was tonight. Is tonight, she's still going. With someone else."

"Oh love, that's awful she did that to you." He tried to comfort you, but you shook your head.

"It's really not her fault, I'm not mad at her. It's just, it makes me feel so alone."

"But you're not alone, I'm here, and I'm gonna make sure you don't feel alone ever again."

You smiled ever so slightly, kissing his cheek, but the hollow sadness was still apparent in your demeanor.

Mark spoke. "Let's go back to the apartment, okay?"

You grabbed his hand as he stood up from the seat. "Okay..."

In your apartment, he sat you down on the couch and went to work setting up something on the TV. You were looking at videos and pictures people were posting from the concert, your sour mood only being furthered.

Looking up, you saw Mark holding a microphone as some sort of karaoke program was on the screen. "What are you doing, babe?"

"If you want a concert, I'll give you a concert." He turned around, grinning at you.

With an eyebrow raised, you watched him select a song, then speak out to the imaginary crowd. "So this is for my beautiful girlfriend Y/N."

You smiled, vaguely recognizing the song. Poet by Bastille. Bastille had been one of your favorite bands for a while, and this song you'd fallen in love with. You didn't know that Mark listened to them frequently enough to have the song memorized by heart.

You locked eyes with him, and blew a kiss at him. Mark overzealously caught it and put it in his pocket as he went into the chorus. "I have written you down, now you will live forever.
And all the world will read you, and you live forever in eyes not yet created, on tongues that are not born. I have written you down, now you will live forever."

He was about halfway through the song when his face lit up with yet another idea. Turning off the music, he flipped through the songs again. "So I'm inviting my beautiful girlfriend Y/N up here for a duet, how about that?"

With a small frown still on your face, you got up off the couch and walked over to him. You were handed another mic and couldn't see over his shoulder at the song he was choosing. After about .2 seconds, you knew the song. "Aladdin!" You squealed, you absolutely loved Disney.

Mark sang Aladdin's lyrics, while you took Jasmine's. It was fun goofing around and putting actions to the song. After the song, you were smiling and declared that you would pick the next song. Soon enough, you guys had blown through the songs you both knew, and had to declare the impromptu concert over.

"That was great." You grinned as Mark stood up from tucking the microphones away.

He wrapped his arms around you, and you gladly let him envelope you in a hug. "You know you'll never be alone as long as you have me, right?"

You lifted your head up to give him a sweet, long kiss. "Yeah, I know."
