(A/N: Hello everyone. This is a wonderful request that I'm excited to try and write hopefully I don't do awful on it. Enjoy!)

•Paris, France           WW2               1939•

Soldiers walked to and from different tents that were staked into the mud. The rain above them fell in fat raindrops and pooled at their ankles. Boots cut through water like a knife and left the bottom of their pants soaked through.
None seemed fazed by the gloomy weather, all focused on one thing and one thing only; winning this war. Everyone seemed to be in tune to this certain rhythm that settled over the base. It was quiet but the rain mostly blanketed most conversations.
Two men were disputing over a map laid flat on a table, scribbles and marks strewn all over the paper. One man was hunched over the map, pointer finger stabbing the paper and tracing the dotted line below him. His eyes followed the trail that lead up to the German border where a large "X" was placed.
"I don't like how this is looking." The man muttered, sighing audibly and raking a hand nervously through his dark brown hair. The awards pinned to his chest gleamed under the fluorescent lights. This man was named Sean William McLoughlin. Being second in command after the General, he's made it to being a Lieutenant.
He has stationed his men and his base near the German border where it seemed as though the war breaking out was just within their fingertips. In the distance you could still hear gunshots that happened to echo off mountains and reach back to camp.
"We've already had over twenty of our men injured or dead. We've been raging this war for five months already. How much more can our men take?" The Sargent stated, raising his voice over the steady thrumming above them from the rain hitting the tent roof.
"Sending them back out there is a suicide mission but we can't come back home empty handed." Sean replied, flickering his eyes to the displeased expression on his Sargent's face. Sean paced back and forth, rubbing his stubbled chin and trying to think.
"Alpha is in the field, Bravo is heading out first thing in the morning and Delta are planning on flanking both sides and ambushing the enemy." Sean's head hurt from frustration and stress. He stifled a yawn, willing the exhaustion in his bones to wear off.
"What about our medics? We're starting to run low on people and soon we will have more injured than doctors." Sean asked, looking up to watch the other man nod in agreement. He jerked a thumb behind him towards a tent that was laying a few feet from them. It was made for the doctors and medics to treat the injured soldiers.
"A new group was just flown in from Ireland. A fresh group, a young group. The more numbers the better and they are ready to get their hands dirty, plan on meeting with them tomo-" Before the man could finish his sentence, the both of them began to hear shouting.
"What the.." Sean mumbled before rushing to the flap of the tent and pushing through. Light posts were set all around the base, illuminating the camp just enough to let Sean see what all the commotion was about.
"They're bleeding! Please, we need a medic! Someone help me!" A voice in the dark shouted, soldiers emerging from their tents confused and startled. The sky was dotted with stars and the rain continued pounding on.
"Shit! We got our next round of wounded! Sean, take this one to medic NOW! The new ones will know what to do. Go, now!" Sean's Sargent commanded, pointing his second in command towards a wounded soldier collapsed in another's arms.
Sean nodded, sloshing through the mud and blinking away the water that ran into his eyes. His hair stuck to his forehead as he threw an arm around the girl and picked her up bridal style. She groaned, clenching her teeth tightly and curling in on herself. From the dim lights Sean could see the blood staining through her uniform around her waist.
She was a small soldier with a shaved head and colorful language as she spat out varieties of cuss words all the way to the medics. Sean held her tightly and quickly walked towards the tent in front of him. He felt her warm blood slick on his hands as he struggled not to drop her.
"Medic, now!" Sean shouted as he pushed through the tent flap, being washed by bright white lights. He blinked a few times, waiting for the spots to disappear from his vision.
"Damn, we got a bleeder!" A woman yelled, footsteps reaching Sean quickly. He saw white cotton beds lined in a row attached to different IV bags and beeping machines. He looked down, seeing that she had gone slack in his arms.
Her blood had covered his hands and started dripping onto the rug beneath him. He walked over to an empty bed and laid her down, stepping back once a group of people swarmed around the soldier. He gave them room, holding his bloody hands in the air.
"Gunshot wound to the abdomen. It may have hit a major artery but her hand is covering the entry wound. What should we do, (Y/N)?" One of the nurses called out, turning her head to someone on the other side of the room.
Sean looked to see you quickly walk out from behind a curtain and make your way towards the injured girl. Your hair was tied into a tight bun and a white coat was placed around your shoulders. You had a clipboard in hand, including a pair of white gloves and your black combat boots.
You didn't even notice the soldier standing to the side, watching all this happen with a thoughtful expression. You laid your clipboard down and walked through the group. Your lips were pursed as you took a minute to hook up an IV into her wrist and check her vitals.
A cocky med student stepped up, a smirk on his face as he pushed his glasses back up his nose and pointed towards her hand wrapped around her waist. The blood had quickly spread under her and began to trickle off the bed. She would bleed out in a few minutes if nothing was to be done.
"I know exactly what to do." The student boasted, reaching forward to pull her hand away. You reacted too slowly, turning towards the injured soldier and trying to stop the student from removing her hand.
"No! Wait, don-" It was too late as the student removed the hand and a spurt of blood proceeded to splatter all over your face. You flinched, tending up as the warm spray occurred. The students gasped and stepped back, writing furiously in their notebooks. The room grew silent as you slowly opened your eyes.
"She was struck in a major artery and was applying pressure to try and reduce the bleeding. Taking away that necessary pressure allows the wound to gush freely..sometimes becoming projectile." You spoke calmly, leaving the splattered mess on your face and quickly grabbing the supplies to stop the bleeding.
Sean watched in fascination at your accuracy and speed. His hands felt sticky and his clothes were dripping with water. You continued explaining what you were doing as you sedated the soldier and ordered your students what to do next.
"Who brought her here?" Sean's head lifted at the question as he was trying to find a sink to wash the blood off. Someone pointed towards Sean as you finally noticed the bloody soldier in the corner. You gave him a warm smile as you walked over to meet him. You stuck your hand out, completely unfazed by the bloody sight.
Sean didn't hesitate to shake your hand, giving you a friendly grin. Blood was still splattered on your face, some smeared on your chin was accidentally touching it.
"Sean McLoughlin at your service, ma'am. I'm the Lieutenant of this base and second in command to Sargent Bull. It's a pleasure to meet you..even under these circumstances." You chuckled, pointing towards a sink in the back.
"(F/N) (L/N), at your service. I'm the head medic, basically the one in charge of all this. I apologize for that little mishap, my students sometimes are a little too eager to be working on live patients. I can assure you, your solider is going to be healed." Sean thanked her warmly, shaking her hand once again after he had finally cleaned them.
"If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask." You offered, smiling towards him before being interrupted by a few more injured soldiers being carried in. Your smile dampened a bit but you quickly grabbed another pair of gloves and started heading over. Sean, feeling intrusive, starting to turn and walk out of the tent.
His uniform was stained in blood and his head started to hurt from the lights. Mud was tracked all over the floor and soon began to smell of rust. Just as Sean was starting to walk out, you looked over your shoulder and caught his attention.
"Lieutenant McLoughlin? Just wanted to say..pleasure's all mine. Look forward to meeting you again." You called out, giving him a wink before turning back to your patients. Sean blinked a few times before smirking, nodding once before heading back out into the rain and mud.

(Part two is coming soon. I'm excited about this one, I think it'll be fun! And spicy ;))
