Trouble - 11

"Jungkook, we need to talk."

As soon as those words left his mouth, Jungkook dragged Jin away to a meeting room so they can talk. Now, they're standing across from each other, the two staring until the silence gets unbearable.

"Alright. Fine," Jungkook starts, breaking the silence. "What is it and is it bad?"

"I don't know and I don't know," Jin says. The way he lowers his tone despite them being in a private meeting room makes Jungkook go still. Jin doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut and now he's purposely keeping his voice down.

"Is it about a person or a creature?"

"It's about Jimin."

Right away, Jungkook tunes in more. "What about him? Is he okay?"

"Again, I don't know. When he woke up, he woke up just like Apollo. Dazed and confused. Then I told him about you."

"And?" Jungkook asks, leaning forward.

Jin lets out a long sigh. "He... started glowing."

"Glowing?"

"Yeah, and not the gold our eyes glow. Actually, his eyes weren't gold at all. They were blue." Jungkook's eyes widen, his breath getting caught in his throat. "His fingertips were glowing too. I don't understand how or why. Maybe it was a trick of the light or maybe I'm going insane, but I don't know." Jungkook stands, panicking. "Jungkook? You okay?"

"I... I need a minute," Jungkook mumbles, rushing out of the meeting room. He knows exactly where Jimin is. Jungkook's not sure if Jimin has been lying this whole time or if this is a new development, but his heart still cracks regardless.

He rushes down the halls for several minutes until he finds Raven's room and doesn't even bother knocking. Jungkook bursts inside in time to see Jimin on top of her on her bed, the two making out like there's tomorrow. They jump apart mere seconds after the door opens and yelp.

"Jesus Kook, knock," Jimin says, panting.

Jungkook glares at Jimin. "We need to talk."

"Wha-"

"Now," he says, his tone nearing a hiss. Jimin seems confused but obeys, hopping off Raven's bed. He gives the redhead one last kiss and a goodbye before following Jungkook out of the room.

On any other day, seeing Jiven... Ramin? Ha, Ramin, sounds like the dish, but that's not the point. On any other day, seeing them together would warm his heart. But not right now.

Jungkook drags Jimin out and takes him to the nearest corner possible, almost pushing him to the wall. "Have you been lying this whole time?" Jungkook asks, narrowing his eyes.

"What? What are you talking about?" Jungkook feels tears burn at his lids, him biting his lower lip to hold them back. "Woah, Kook, I can't read your mind, bud. What happened? I swear to you I didn't lie to you once in my whole life-"

"When were you gonna tell me that you're a half-breed?"

Jimin goes still. "What?"

"Jin told me that when you woke up and heard I was in danger, you started to glow. Your eyes and fingers started glowing blue. Explain that."

"Jungkook, my parents were both Hunters."

"So Jin's lying?" Jungkook asks, praying his voice doesn't sound desperate.

"I... I don't know. Maybe my parents lied, but I've never once felt anything powerful inside me. I promise. I swear on my life I didn't lie to you. I don't think I'm a half-breed."

"But this doesn't make any sense. If what Jin said is true, the prophecy child is supposed to have powers. How do we both have them? How?"

"Jungkook, I think Jin was just under a lot of stress and was seeing things. I didn't glow, that's ridiculous," Jimin says, slowly.

"Or maybe you're a half-breed. Maybe you're the half-breed. It's the only logical explanation."

"Logical explanation for what?"

"How the hell you're out of bed and walking already. Jimin, Apollo was under for a shorter amount of time than you and still isn't cleared for duty. You got up and saved my ass within less than half an hour of waking up. You call that luck? Adrenaline? Your Hunter healing powers? I don't think it's any of those. It's that you're a half-breed... maybe that's why I feel such a strong connection to you," Jungkook says.

Jimin's eyes slightly widen. "You do?"

"I do," Jungkook confirms. "Why do you think we're closer to each other than with anyone else? We're half-breeds, Min. We have to be."

Jimin and Jungkook keep staring at each other, unsure of what to say. Then, a small sniffle alerts them to another presence. They turn and see Raven standing a few feet away, tears strolling down her face.

"You're... you're a half-breed?" she whisper-asks both of them.

Right away, Jimin starts towards her. "Rave, honey..." She steps back, Jimin going still. Jungkook can see the pain in his eyes from being rejected by her.

"How long have you known?" she asks Jungkook.

"My uh, my whole life."

She directs her voice to Jimin. "And how long have you known that he's a half-breed?"

Jimin hesitates longer than he should. "A while."

"And neither of you thought to tell the others? Not even once?" At her broken tone, Jimin keeps stepping closer.

"Honey, please listen to me. I swear Jungkook was going to tell everyone. It wasn't my secret to tell-"

"I get it, Min," she interrupts, her eyes moving from Jimin to Jungkook. "What I don't get is him." Jungkook feels all his air leave his body. "Did you tell anyone other than Jimin?"

"Y/N..."

Raven's lips turn up into a scoff. "You trust the new girl over the people you've known your whole life? You've been lying right to my face this whole time?!"

"I didn't want people to treat me differently! Treat me like I'm some prize or some special thing!"

"Jungkook, wake up! You are special! Both of you are!" Jimin flinches at the argument, Raven softening at that. She comes closer and side-hugs him, letting out a sigh. "This is honestly a lot to process. I don't know what you're going through, I won't act like I do. But Kook, this is what we're here for. We're supposed to be family. No secrets. No lies. We can't risk our bond over something like this. Something like not trusting us to help you, not trusting us to treat you the same as we did before. The only reason why I'd treat you different is because you didn't trust me, so how can I trust you?"

Jungkook frowns, realizing that she's right. He only trusted three people with his secret, and one of them is dead. Because of him. "The day Adeline died," Jungkook whispers. "She tried saying we could work together. She said that I'm a half-breed and a human half-breed relationship could work. We kept fighting and fighting until she accidentally grabbed my sword. She died because... because of me..."

Raven's lower lip trembles, more tears pouring down her face. "Oh Kook, I'm so sorry."

"It's no excuse. You're right, I should have trusted you guys with this."

"Yes, you should've, but that doesn't mean I'm not sorry." She slips away from Jimin to instead come over to Jungkook and hold him tight. He lets out a breath and hugs her back.

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Rave. I should've trust you." She doesn't reply, she simply rocks him back and forth.

Jimin stands off to the side, staring down the hall to ensure no one else is there. "Should we go tell the others?" Jimin asks.

"I'm sure Jin has questions. When he told me about you glowing, I kind of panicked right in front of him," Jungkook replies.

"Shit..."

"Yeah, we have some explaining to do." Jungkook pulls back from the hug and gives Raven a frown. "I'm so sorry I didn't tell you. I do trust you, I promise, I just... I was scared."

"And I'll never know what that's like, so I'm not mad I'm... surprised? Sad? I'm not sure. I don't know what to feel right now."

Jimin comes over and entwines his hand with Raven's, peeking at Jungkook. "For what it's worth, I still don't believe I'm a half-breed. I shouldn't be. The prophecy told of one, not two," Jimin says.

"I don't know, it seems like the prophecy might be wrong," Raven replies.

Jimin gives her hand a squeeze. "The prophecies are never wrong. I don't think any of them have been wrong in our history, right?"

"Well, maybe this one is," Jungkook whispers. "Does anyone have the texts?"

"Jayden I'm sure, you know how big of a nerd he is even if he tries to hide it," Raven says with a small laugh. Jimin and Jungkook smile, nodding.

"Then that's where we start," Jungkook says.

Together, the trio saunter down the hall, not speaking. Jungkook can't blame them though, this hasn't exactly been an easy day on any of them. Jimin's a half-breed. There's no other explanation. But the prophecy, what does it mean? Are there multiple half-breeds and only one of them is the prophecy child? If so, between Jimin and Jungkook, who is it? Is Jimin really a half-breed, or was Jin seeing things? No, that can't be possible. Jimin's walking and fighting and making out with his girlfriend mere hours after being under. Why is this so complicated?

They make it to Jayden's room, snapping themselves out of their thoughts. "I think he's still in the training room. I doubt he came back already," Jungkook says.

The other two nod and open the door to his room without knocking. It's safe to say everyone's surprised to see Jayden and Apollo inside. The two stop their conversation and turn to the door, raising their brows at the intruders.

"Everything okay?" Jayden asks.

Meanwhile, Apollo scoffs. "Ever heard of knocking?"

"Sorry," Jungkook is quick to say. "Can we come in?"

Jayden agrees. Jungkook ignores the glare Apollo is giving Jimin, instead deciding to enter the room and motion to Jayden.

"Do you have your textbook? The one with the prophecy?" Jimin asks. Jayden seems perplexed but decides to shrug and not question it. Instead, he kneels in front of his bed and pulls something out from under it.

"Sure, I kept it. It's a little dusty though, I don't exactly look through it anymore." He tosses it to Jimin, who easily catches it and starts flipping through it.

"Jay, there's not a speck of dust on the inside," Raven says.

Jayden turns red. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Ha, nerd," Apollo mumbles. To everyone's surprise, Apollo cracks a smile at Jayden's shyness.

"Dude, did the coma rewire his brain?" Raven whisper-asks Jungkook.

"I have no fucking idea," he whispers back.

"Since when does Apollo smile?" Jimin throws in with a concerned expression. The trio shrug and peer back down at the textbook.

"We can give him a brain scan later. For now, let's find the prophecy," Jungkook says.

"You're the boss," Jimin replies before getting back to flipping through the pages.

They flip for another minute before Jimin stops, Jungkook looking over his shoulder. "What is it?" Raven asks.

"I found it. The prophecy."

"The prophecy? Woah, why are you guys looking over that?" Jayden asks.

"There's nothing about there being two," Jimin mutters while scanning through the page. "But Kook, if what Jin saw is true and I'm like you, which one of us is the half-breed?"

"What?!" The trio wince at Jayden's outburst. "You're half-breeds?!" he yells.

Jungkook sadly nods. "I am. We're not sure if Jimin's one or not, but my bet's on that he is. He was glowing, and not our Hunter gold glow. His fingertips and eyes started glowing blue. Whenever my powers really kick in, my eyes and fingertips turn red."

Jayden's jaw drops. "So, wait. What the fuck."

Apollo stares at them, trying to process their words. "How long have you known?" he asks in a mutter.

"Jimin just found out today, I've known my whole life. My parents always told me to hide it, but..." Jungkook pauses to point to Raven. "She found out. I think it's finally time I told everyone." Apollo stomps forward and grabs Jungkook's elbow, dragging him out of Jayden's room. "Ow! Hey man, that hurts!"

"You're a half-breed, you can handle it," he mumbles while pulling him away. Jungkook doesn't protest anymore, he just allows himself to be brought back into the training room. Everyone's still there, right where they left them, only this time Jin's here too. "Alright pretty boy, tell them what you told us."

Jungkook peeps around at the others and gulps. The other three they left behind in Jayden's room come sauntering inside, Jimin going to Jungkook's side. "We have something to tell you," Jimin announces, then he turns to Jungkook. "That's okay, right?"

Jungkook is quick to nod. "It'd be unfair to have Apollo, Jayden, and Raven know but not the others." Jungkook sighs and turns to the crowd again. "There's no easy way to say it, so I'll just say it." He pauses to catch his breath. "Jimin and I are half-breeds."

Silence follows.

Jimin and Jungkook desperately glance around, but everyone is too stunned to speak. "Like... one of you is the half-breed?" Hoseok slowly asks.

"We think so. We're not sure which one of us is though," Jungkook says.

There's more silence as everyone thinks of what to say. Then, Griff speaks. "I'm so sorry," he says. "I wish there was something I could say."

"You're sorry?" Jimin asks. "For what?"

"I can't imagine that's easy. Being a half-breed, I mean. One of you being a prophecy, a lot of pressure, ain't it?" Griffin asks. Jungkook sighs but decides against answering. "If it makes you feel any better, you always have at least one person who'll listen."

"You're not mad we hid this?" Jimin asks.

Jungkook nudges Jimin. "Jimin just found out, I've known my whole life. If any of you are mad, please be mad at me, not Jimin. He didn't know until Jin noticed him glowing."

Griffin softly chuckles. "I'm gonna be honest, I figured that someone here was the half-breed. I thought maybe it was Y/N, but now that I think about it, it makes sense that it's you two."

Jungkook furrows his brows. "What's that supposed to mean?"

However, he doesn't get the answer to his question. "Wait, let's backtrack here, are we ignoring the fact that Jungkook lied to us ever since we met?" Yoongi asks.

Jungkook frowns. "I know it doesn't mean much, but I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt any of you," he says. Namjoon gives Jungkook a sympathetic stare, meanwhile the others still seem too shocked to speak. "I understand if you want me gone or something like that. I'm sorry for lying, I really am I just didn't want to be treated differently. I didn't want anyone to treat me like I was special."

Jimin nods in agreement, everyone still quiet. Y/N comes over and stands by Jungkook's side, patting him on the shoulder. Griffin, Val, and Namjoon seem sympathetic. The others appear too stunned to comment.

"I think we need time, Kook," Hoseok answers for the rest of them. Jin and Tae nod in agreement. Well, that went better than he expected.

Jungkook gulps down his fears. "Right. Time." He turns and starts to stroll away, Jimin going to follow, but Jungkook holds his hand up. "Sorry, I... can I have some time alone?" he asks in a soft tone.

Jimin brings him into a hug, much to Jungkook's surprise. He lets out a small breath, then hugs back. "We're in this together. Always," Jimin mutters.

Jungkook nods against his shoulder and gives him a squeeze. "You're my brother in more than one way now, Park. I love you."

Jungkook can feel Jimin's smile. "I love you too."

When they part, Jungkook motions to Y/N. "We're still on for tonight, just... you know."

She nods in understanding. "Go do what you have to do." Jungkook gives them both grateful looks before departing the room. That's not how he expected that to go. but man did it still hurt. Jungkook can't help but tear up.

He didn't lose his family, did he?
